omg i love this ride!!!!!! ever since i was 4 this was my fav...then one day when i went to disney with my family and whatever we went on the ride the the next day we heard that two or one boy died on the ride the day we when and after that i was terrified of the ride and i grew a phobia against it until last year....now i ride it atleast 4 times when ever i go... ones right when i get there...then in the afternoon....and then two times at night haha

@MaddiMouse15 It depends on what you mean. What's scary for you? If we compare them against, say, the Matterhorn or Space Mountain which are the most intense rides at Disneyland, no it's not scary. Fast and fun, but not scary. Anyway, take a chance, if you don't like it, you never have to do it again.

The first time I passed this ride my moms like lets go on it. I was scared out of my mind but the line was so short!! So we went on Pirates and came back to this ride and we had to wait like half in hour! But it was so worth it!! We went on 4 times that day :)

Glad you included the original soundtrack and online sounds. Interesting to see what changes have been made since it opened in 1979. I also like the Paris Disneyland Big Thunder video which has all the soundtracks and a great job of splicing away shots as well as online shots. Hope they get the geysers going again on both soon as that helps to cool down the air for guests.

There aren't any big drops just mostly turns. But there are sudden little drops, like it seems like you're going straight ahead but then it drops down a little. But I was a little afraid to go on it too but now it's one of my favorite rides there!

Hey guys, I have some ideas for this ride, and I just want your opinions-

So what would you think if there was a cast member, dressed as an old miner, to talk and interact with the guests? In character, of course.

And maybe where people like to throw pennies and stuff, have it be kind of like the shooting range next door, and have things happen depending on where you toss your coin?

and a haunted saddle, sitting somewhere in line, when you touch it- or sit on it- it neighs and moves? idk..

Going next month annd all i do is listen to this [: Me and my cusions love it here so much that we lined up a bunch of chairs and set it up like the rides. We used belts as seat belts, and shut all the windows and made it dark. If the ride called for water we used a misting fan. Lol Wee love Disney !!!

@PurpleDinosaurXO Personally, Disneyland!!!!!!! Disneyworld is cool cause it's got the several parks however, I personally didn't find it better. For example, the Peter Pan in DW was extremely short. Same as Pirates. While in DL, they really take you through it. If you like originals better, and not copies, choose DL. But definitely go to DW at least one time in your life to experience it.

I remember backing out of the 'Big One' in Blackpool Pleasure Beach before because I was so scared in the line but I went back a year later and there was hardly any queue because it was early so I went on it and loved it. Btw if you ever go there and go on that ride I advise you to bring something to entertain you while the coaster gets to the top. It seriously takes about 10mins to get to the top because it's so high.

I loved this ride, but You know how theres a place in it where its really really hot and it looks like rocks are going to fall on you? We almost went down that little hill but then...Stalled. I was in it for about 1 1/2 hours. I was DYEING hot. Once we finanly got out, they gave us a speed pass thingy ( I forgot what its called) and ice cream cones.
