@frylockmovie The Long-nose gar is the only one besides the Gator Gar I would think could stand up to a snakehead. The biggest of the big get to about 6 ft. But fishing often doesn't allow them to get longer than 4ft in many places. Largest I've ever seen was about 3ft long. Gator Gar can grow to about 10-11ft. Much larger than the long-nose gar.

Gars are great, they are fun to watch "spear" and grab fish. Biting a gar is like biting armor, you can't do anything to them unless a fish is huge enough to swallow them whole (which I have seen done before).

Any gar over 3 foot would be a tough fight for just about any fresh water fish including a snake head. If you ever catch one try and cut it up. You pretty much need a saw and a hatchet. They are freakin armored.
