win 98=ok

win 2000=good performance,bad appearence

win ME=just like win2000 only better background

win XP=great

win Vista=Great Appearence,bad performance

3.11 = Perfect DOS shell.

95 = Lightweight and gets stuff done.

98 = Fluffy crap we don't need.

2000 = The first NT to hit homes all around.

ME = Kinda a downgrade.. doesn't run on the NT kernel..

XP = Perfect gaming OS. Runs perfectly on high end machines today.

Vista = Resource intensive, but not as bad as people claim it to be.

7 = Less resource intensive, easier to use,

My pick = Windows XP. Lasted a solid 10 years, and will still do me good in the following 10.

Why any one uses Microsoft Windows XP and not 7 the brand new? Is it because Win XP is faster ok agree but not very good for 3D Games.

@jjoeshaw yes they stole it from xerox. But they didn't stole so much as microsoft and didn't ruin this much and told so many lies like microsoft. If you want a usable OS buy a Mac or get Linux. Windows is the worst example of what can go wrong during the development of the OS. And guess what 80% of people know that it is garbage and buy it anyway because they think that "it is still better than Linux". Yeah... Ubuntu had overtaken windows in user-friendlieness and reliability.

@jjoeshaw I don't think that it is an os... It is NOS Not Operating System because as I was in university it did almost cost me my graduation. I had a brand new randering pc with only few programms on it and as I left it rendering over night, it crashed and all files were jammed in the windows. So I had to start from scratch. Since when was windows 7 copying mac? It just made some upgrades to Windows Vista, removed all the errors and messed up stuff about it, and made it into a better PC. Mac's completely different.

I honestly don't get why everyone hates Vista. After sp1 fixed most of the issues, everything was just fine. I'm running Vista HPx64 and loving every bit of it.

I started using PC when Win98 was released. So for me the best Window is Win98. I'd be running it even now if Microsoft was releasing updates for it. After Win98, XP appears to be the best Window. Better than Vista at least.
