  • Is that Dee Dee Ramone in the crowd at 1:51? Sure looks like him!

  • 0:09 ahhh what a sound

  • Brilliant.

  • amazing track

    love it

  • hmmmm jim was actually right ,and he counted with the sticks but seems no one was listening to him lol

  • SLF at Glasgow Barrowlands (Barras), still my favourite time of year... St Paddy's night!! Mates think it strange that being a Gers fan, this is my fav night... I don't care. I love the footy, but I like seeing a great live band more....

  • got my tickets for glasgow in march

  • got my tickets for glasgow

  • I used to have a copy of this, taped from one of the old German channels Sky used to show. The Jam were the next band on stage.

  • forgot to say im 43 now,

can only manage a couple of dances, usually save it for

    :johny was:

    best cover the ever sang

  • SLF Are playin in Buckley Tivoli North Wales! I can't wait whooooo

    Saturday 9th October

    This will be awesome

  • rubbersi says 'Our kids seen them at least 30 times & she's younger than me! '

fuck, u must b irish lol.. how weird ur kid is younger than you?!?!?!?! thanks for that :)

  • anyone have a tab for this or atleast can play it and then tab it?

  • another one in my top 3 and davewolves100 fingers still great go every year, you getting old haha

  • i used to go as well, got sick of the middle of the road rock they play, they dont write songs like this anymore im afraid 2say!!

  • slf when they were still good, carnt believe how crap they are now its sad!!!

  • I liked Brian Faloon better,Inflammable Material for ever!!

  • This was the SLF that I remember best, and i've seen them all with the exception of the original, with Brian Faloon on drums. Always liked the drumming of Jim Reilly (as an amateur drummer myself) although Dolphin Taylor was the business as well. The current sticks'man (Steve Grantley) is no slouch, but everyone has their favourites, and remember certain songs with certain line-ups; this was mine, as it was the first SLF combo I seen live (Glasgow 81'ish).

  • ballecks Jim Reilly all the way ,,,from sombody who knows Big Ron BELFAST

  • Go On The sTiff ! Done enough glue with with youse boys on the walkman back in the day HA ! always come back to the stiff .. class

  • Oh oh, Jim dropped the beat at 2:22..... Jake lets him know with eye at 2:25.... Never the less a great tune from a top class band, still touring today, brilliant. Using a guitar which knocked the Les Paul for a six during the 70s and 80s.. A Yamaha SG2000 he still uses one today, a deep green one like that of Stuart Adamsons of The Skids & Big Country another dude and a half.

  • I was gonna reply, why pick that up? but you're quite right and Jake does give him the eye! Fantastic Band though, first saw them in '82 then about 7 times since.... Our kids seen them at least 30 times & she's younger than me!

  • @Coppertunes sadly he mainly uses an esp and was quoted after selling that guitar saying,"never buy a Japanese guitar" :( i want one but they're really heavy.

  • being one of those skinheads who made this song possible by being an amoral nazi loon..i loved this, still do..back to front..you bet we were..

    love it still..

    Chelsea HeadHunters.

  • skin heads arnt nazis, thats bone heads, fuckin get ur facts right.

  • think jake was very relieved tht he dint total y fuck it up lol

  • I got this whole show from Rockapalast Dortmund somewhere.

  • Could you please upload it? This show is just amazing!

  • See the dead eye Jake gives Jim when he slightly fucks up on the bridge! He is still the best drummer they ever had though.

  • carried on..... IM 16 MY DAD POINTED THEM OUT TO ME WHEN I WAS ABOUT 1 LOL AND IV LOVED THEM SINCE BUT ONLY IN THE LAST FEW YEARS HAVE I UNDERSTOOD THEM AND THEYVE MADE ME STAND UP FOR WAT I BELEIVE SO "HANX" BOYS AND HEARS TO THE NEXT 30 YEARS!

  • @thewillyboy

    keep the real groups alive,

these guys didnt get were the did by appearing on x factor,

been watchin them gig since i was 12 years old,

first time i saw them was king georges hall in blackburn, i was right at the front and was so small me head was just above the stage,

got crushed to f,,ck, but love them days,

even managed to get on stage wiv em a few times and cause i was only a kid i got away with it,

going to see them in september in preston,

    31 years and still kickin,,,,,

  • SLF best band about you have bands who yeah av there one hit wonders which are good but where are they now? guns and roses? iron maiden? sabbeth? te who? zepplin? even fucking greenday? SLF 30 YEARS FOR FUCK SAKE YES I ADMIT THEY AINT AS BIG AND WELL KNOWN AS SOME OTHER BANDS AND THAT THEY DONT HAVE THE CROWDS THEY USED TO HAVE BUT THEY ARE STILL GOING AND ASLONG AS THEY ARE IM HAPPY. VERY HAPPY.

  • Also, greatness is not measured in popularity.

  • Besides, they're still getting a few of us dumb kids into them every year. That's a lot better than most bands ever did.

  • Yep, best line up ever. Glad Ali is back. Grantley is a great drummer, Reilly was brilliant, Dolphin Taylor was the wrong type of drummer altogether to play the old stuff. Seen them lots recently but wish i saw this line up. Ian McCallum just looks wrong. Love this song.

  • i would disagree

I'd say #1 line up would be the one that recorded go for it

#2 the current line up w/ ian

    #3 original

i think ian works well with the band

  • this was the best ever line up - Jake, Henry, Ali and Jim. I saw them so many times back in what I think were the best days (e.g. around the time of this clip). Dambusters theme playing, spotlights on the crowd, everyone chanting "Fingers!"

    ...the best.

  • Sorry to disagree but the current line-up is the best now Ali's back. Ian McCallum & Steve Grantley fit so much better in the band than previous members.

  • FUKIN AWSOME one of my favs....better an the shite thats around these days...least they can fukin play live !!

  • are them 3 notes at the start automatic lover??

  • Any footage of the 1990 Ulster Hall gig floating around?

  • you on speed you cunt !!...

  • nob

  • you cock wipe

  • thanks, yea i know hes in the jam tribute(original member) im off to sim em soon, anyway cheers, foxton is a legend!!!!!!

  • sounds a little like joey ramone at his last concert... great song

  • wheres bruce foxton?????????answer me ya bastards

  • He was still with The Jam when this was recorded in 1980 and was 10 years away from joining SLF. Unless you're asking where he is NOW...? In which case the answer is that he left SLF about 18 months ago and was replaced by original bassist Ali McMordie (who's in this clip) and is now doing his "Jam tribute act" schtick with Rick Buckler.

  • seen fingers so many times since the nobody heros tour in 1980, great band but on that vid werent it great too see the original line up, know times change and that, but wow, slf nowadays can do a whole set without touching one of the first 5 albums, they are still a great band too see live

  • wheres foxton :s

  • still with the jam

  • Yes a great single from the fingers,if i remember right mr firecoal man was on the B side which was even better. Only seen them once which was at Tiffany's in Coventry in the early 80's, managed to meet them backstage afterwards and they sighned a band photo for me - great times.

  • This band was among the the best of this period, they got it all, good looks, agression, good songs, and that celtic twang to the music. Alltogether, slf was one of the best reasons why I was a punkrocker 1978-1982.

  • Best live band! I love Foxton but it was kinda cool to see McMordie last year. Hope they play down here again and have Back to Front on the set.

  • Have saw SLF at the Barras Glasgow many times they are superb !

  • I've loved them since I first heard them and got to see them in 1993 in SF - probably the best live show I've seen. Every member of the audience sang every lyric to every song louder than the band. Seriously incredible. I can't imagine my teenage years without these guys. Check out their website and myspace page.

    e

  • Why aren't there bands like this anymore? All the newer bands sound like shit compared to this. This stuff is so ass kickin'.

  • thats right thay kick ass live, i love ALL of there albums

  • alright mate,to fuckn right, a wee half bottle then 2or3 pints in bairds lol me and 5 workmates are goin in march, see u there

  • nah, they were better at the apollo. the barras is shit. the first time they played there was about 86 and it was crap...nothing like the old days at the apollo. who would want to drink in some shite celtic pub too?
