Lets be clear. Sam Raimi had absolutely NOTHING to do with the decision to bring in Venom. It was a very LATE decision by the producers who demanded he be included, their reasoning being the fans wanted Venom in the movie. If that decision was made early on, say, before they chose Sandman, Venom would have been done much better. The effects, plot, etc suffered because of it, and is probably why Raimi and crew decided not to do another one. (They had already voiced their waning interest.

Spiderman fights Venom in the third movie. Look at the normal version of the actual trailer. Theres a fight at a construction site where there is a lot of black webbing and a busted taxi cab, and you see Peter in his Red/blue spider outfit, not the black outfit, meaning this happens after the church scene. How the movie ends is what we will not learn until may. Venom probably dies. Fourth film is not confirmed yet.

Just like they ended the first one with Norman Osborn finding the Green Goblin lair and took all of movie 2 to give him information on who Spiderman is. So if you are going to go see this movie to see Spidey fight Venom... I think you will probably come away disappointed. And if they do the same thing with Green Goblin... they will have to bring up the issues between Eddie and Peter Parker before they can have the fight... which will take all of Spiderman 3 to get through. :P

Eddie Brock decides to enhance hsi strength after he finds the symbiote because he learns that the suit increases its strength the more he increases his, as well as combines its strength with the entity that uses it. So, in total, Venom will be alot buffer than Eddie.
