You think the Genesis controller setup is bad? You should've seen the button layout for Street Fighter 1 in the arcade. Only two (very large) buttons; one punch, one kick. You had to literally hit the button and you'd get a light, medium, or heavy attack depending on how hard you hit it. They had to make the now-standard 6-button layout because the buttons kept breaking.
But don't blame the Genesis because Chun-Li is just that awesome XD
and the snes had an arcade stick and a nintendo scope, but jesus they are aftermarket controllers! like in the genesis it was the 6 buttons controller,so an average player with a standard genesis had 3 buttons
Sega fanboys, just face it snes ruled and still does
Zeta I thin kyou got the beta version. Someone ripped the music from the genesis version, and the released version didn't have music cutoffs, this one does, implying the beta was used.
The title threw me; I didn't remember a version of Super II Turbo on anything but 3DO.
And it would've been hilarious if the Wheel mascot had been Ray from Fighter's History (the game Capcom sued Data East over, claiming it was infringing copyrights on Street Fighter II).
Reason for glitch-ness on the Sega title in the first one, teh fact that it says "ST II Turbo" and a couple other minor places: [h1] tag. [h] tag on Goodsets is Hack.
"Street Fighter II(2) Turbo" was never released for Genesis/MD. The Genesis/MD port of Hyper Fighting was "Street Fighter II: Special Champion Edition" in NA and EU, "Street Fighter II Dash Plus: Champion Edition" in JP and SNES got it as "Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting" as seen in the second half.
When Chun Li is concerned, she could probably kick cut everything in the kitchen. Don't tick that one off. Remember that she was so good, she starred in her own movie. Good, bad or ugly is another subject.
Oh, yea. One of 'those' games that sets up that optional six button controller. What I can't believe is given all the SF titles for Gene/SNES, it took this long for even ONE to surface. And, if there is one obscure NES title out there...
So much Genesis bashing. It's warranted, but still if you had been a fan back in the day you'd know about the 6 button controller. Sega Genesis had a 6 button controller that gave their controller an edge on the shelves. The genesis version also had the perspective scrolling backgrounds, which the SNES didn't.
However, and this is as an old Genesis fan, the SNES version was superior in framerate, controls and had bigger sprites.
Hey I loved the hell out of this on Genesis. Using start to switch was a huge challenge for sure but if you had a 6 button controller, that wasn't necessary. Either way, I sucked at this game and probably still do since it's been a long time since I played it!!
i only have 2 SF games on the Wii's Virtual Console.Super SF The New Challengers(which has Cammy) and SF Alpha 2,SSF:TNC is definitely one of my favorite fighters of all time.
also somebody already did the joke in the comments, but Chun-Li Defeated you because of her Spinning "BIRD" Kick. XD
There is actually another genesis version that, i think, is even better than the SNES turbo, Special Champion Edition. Very similar to turbo on SNES, but better music and smoother gameplay. STII is a beta version of that game, it's just shitty cause it's unfinished.
@ZetaPlays probably a port/hack/beta then, genesis had a six button arcade stick shortly after it's release. I know because my cousin and I used to play SF 2 with arcade sticks on genesis.
Zeta, you are incorrect my friend. It is widely argued that the controls and game play are actually better on the SEGA Genesis version because of the SEGA Genesis 6 button control layout. The Sega Genesis 6 Button Controller was created in order to replace the original 3-button Genesis controller in games that require more than three action buttons like "Street Fighter II: Special Championship Edition". The SNES does h/e sound better and possess good visuals.
I have all six buttons mapped, the other three were not functional, if they had been I wouldn't argue
Maybe this is a version made for before the genesis had six button support. Honestly I didn't know the genesis supported more than 3 buttons without 32x or cd, did it? the original controllers, and what most games support, only had 3 as I'm sure you know
Street Fighter goes as far back as just Street Fighter. Street Fighter, Street Fighter II, Street Fighter II Champion Edition, Street Fighter II Turbo, Super Street Fighter II, THEN Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter Alpha II, Street Fighter Alpha III...okay, I really don't think I should have to list twenty to thirty Street Fighter games, lol.
it's an unreleased game, the released ones definitely had six button support.
