  • vocals ruin this song

  • a perfect intro

  • such an epic chorus

  • "by burden of blood we saw, reflections of who we are, as the knowledge that burns in our hearts, takes charge." they were alot more deep back then huh.

  • 3:10 "Old niggers!"

  • Comment removed

  • Kinda funny that alot of the comments on this page are about how "awful" The Dillinger Escape Plan supposedly is, but most of them don't realize without them, we wouldn't have this insanely technical music with these complex drum parts in them at the same time.

  • @WhoHearsTheMadnessTV Dillinger Escape Plan are quality......but yes we would have this sort of music, there were a lot of bands and types of music in the early eighties, and before using complex time signatures and technical musicianship, symphonic metal, neo-classical metal and mathcore for instance....

  • this was released 5 years ago and is STILL some of the best music out there even today. waaaay better than all that hardcore techno autotuned bullshit out there nowadays.

  • How many times have I got to feel this RAGE!?!

  • brutal intro

  • technical, melodic, unique, neoclassical, heavy, = perfection

  • powerfull voice, but this is nice work at all.. awesome

  • 3:01 gets me everytime

  • 2:20 is really nice, I enjoy it, but its quite dull compared to the rest. Like if they went into 2/2, people just like that so much, its the best pop music can do. I rather stay with the rest of the song but 2:20, and replace that with some additive rhythms.

  • 2:19 is where its starts gettin really hectic and epic as hell :) but the best part is the end cause you can push reply :)

  • 2:19 is where its starts gettin really hectic and epic as hell :)

  • 2:20 blows my mind every time, must've listened to it like 10000 times

  • Midheaven is fucking horrible. I miss this stuff <3

  • @Javeness You have no knowledge of music, clearly. Midheaven was different, but full of emotion.

  • @phatjohnson16 no one wants to hear Nathan's annoying emotions.

  • man... is that the singer from Dillinger escape plan..."? who is that ....sounds familliar

  • @MasterChince Dillinger Escape Plan is awful.

  • @phatjohnson16 dillinger escape plan are fucking pioneers. they are the reason mathcore is even considered a real a genre. they've inspired half of the virtuoso metal around and their drummer is the motherfucking king of time signatures.

  • @thtdudewiththehair Nooooo, their drummer is king of life period, all three drummers they have run through shit on almost everyone out there.

  • 1:29 = EPIC

I love tha part so much

    Kick ass song

  • this music is so angry

  • You just made me lol in my pants, I love you. :)

  • Dude, but it's intelligent. Look up the lyrics.

  • I lol'd.

  • I have the lyrics of the first verse in the description of my video response

  • it says do not stop me

  • what about the shit before that

  • whats the very first part say? up until 0:36

i dont think its in the lyrics ive read

  • this song is so gnarly

i like this way more then their other stuff

  • It's cause AJ left after Nocturne, the CD this song is on. Midhaeven was just disappointing.

  • @JMan2400 luckily AJ is now their band manager, even if he doesn't play guitar for them he will at least help it to sound like it's supposed to

  • @mcspaddin No, he's officially back in the band as a member now.

  • @nightwhatchman yeah heard about it just a little bit after making that comment, my bad lol

  • @JMan2400 People who expect a band to write the same sounding songs piss me off. Bands do grow, you know?

  • @gumballflip well midheaven was a fail of an experiment, and Digital Veil is different from this, but still amazing in its own way. the way they write their music facinates me

  • stop being douche bags and shut the fuck up. you dumb fucks are arguing on fucking youtube! what kind of lame ass fucking nerds are you? shut the fuck up you wierd little nazi kids and listen to the mother fucking music!

  • 6 fucks.. lay off them -.-

  • wanna know how i know your gay?

  • they are better like this

  • i love this band.....great music and skill

  • love this dudes and iam not gay haha i love the music yeah

    viva

    The Human Abstract

  • as long it's good music, enjoy it, better than pop music, this is r'n'r still ; )

  • i like this album.. same with the rylics..or well as far as there are rylics ..

and i really really dont unde3rstand the thing about this argument.. some ppl like it some ppl dont.. ppl who like it post it ppl who dont go seartch for other music or press the X right above the screeun ? i find it pointless to even talk about it.. a argument is only closed when some1 is tired..these days people can keep going even when it isnt something to argument about it..

  • You spelt lyrics wrong twice in you're comment.

  • great comment lmao

  • Haha he must of been stoned

  • lmao wish i was just move'd in a new town and i have no more dealer haha

  • and you dint only got lyrics rong pretty much everything in this comment is rong the structur andthere are even numbers in there im french and im sure i can spell better then that

  • love this music!! im just now being introduced to these guys and im loving them.... EPIC!!

  • These pointless arguments that people get into on youtube are more entertaining than television.

  • haha i totally agree

  • fuck genres

  • one of the best songs on Nocturne. second only to Crossing The Rubicon.

  • i've always hated these melodic metal guitar riffs cause i always thought they sounded corny, these guys get away with it well tho.i think they know really know what theyre doing.

  • You've obviously never listened to progressive music then. Its awesome.

  • Prog music is way different from what he is talking about. With the screams THA is kinda like The black Dahlia murder or As blood runs black but a little softer (not in skill or how good their music is, just in how they play their music) they are melodic deathcore/melodic metal as

psychoholic25 said. Prog is like Dream Theater and Opeth. Mind you Opther does scream, but the style is more Prog than anything.

  • Prog really has nothing to do with vocals, progressive has to do with the way the song is structured.

  • I am talking about their new stuff A.A.J( after A.J) has more of a prog feel.

  • ... no. THA is nowhere close to melodeath and nowhere close to deathcore. this is prog metal/mathcore.

  • they are not mathcore, bands like The Number Twelve look you are mathcore because of the odd time signature and such. Also! I never said they WERE deathcore or melodicdeath core I said kinda, and agreed with someone on the melodic metal. You'd be crazy to argue that.

  • saying that TNTLLY are mathcore is a fucking disgrace to the genre tbh.

ion dissonance, car bomb, botch, converge, TDEP, are all mathcore.

they all play different types of mathcore - including this, which is mathcore styled prog metal. another example of mathcore styled prog metal is Protest The Hero.

another name for the genre is progressive metalcore - a style also practiced by BTBAM, SikTh, Shai Hulud, Misery Signals, etc

  • It is like you are fucking retarded or something. MathCore makes use of unusual time signatures, and PTH are not mathcore ,you don't even know your genre right. As for PTH being prog? wtf is wrong with you. They are not progressive.

  • ... the fact that you listed TNTLLY as a good example of mathcore - and then call ME retarded - is pretty damn hypocritical.

yes, PTH are prog. they incorporate styles of math into a genre which is best defined as prog metalcore. the term is used to describe metalcore influenced by prog/math

and don't you try to tell me what mathcore is... it's not as easily defined as "unusual time signatures". do a bit more research and then come back. you obviously haven't listened to TDEP in your life.

  • What most of Mathcore revolves around is the odd time signatures that they have. TNTLLY is a very good example of that. For someone who shares some of the same type of music as me. I can't see how you don't think so.

  • mathcore is defined as having dissonant riffs, strange progressions and technical or difficult passages.

the only reason people think time signatures have anything to do with it is because the riffs sound weird. honestly, you can fit any riff into a standard 4/4 measure using triplets, double-dots and stuff. most bands write their songs in 4/4 and just use the methods described.

  • Yes but MathCore is meant to have fucked time signatures.

  • no, no, no, not "meant"... bands form the sound and THEN decide what genre it is, not the other way around.

and i refer you to songs like Setting Fire To Sleeping Giants, Milk Lizard, and Panasonic Youth by TDEP, all of which make use of standard time signatures but are still considered mathcore.

again, the main definition is the dissonant, heavy riffs. everything else comes second.

  • This whole conversation is pointless(some may see it as a fight. I do not)We both have a different idea about what mathcore is. Just like some people have a different opinion on what is heavy and what is not. This whole thing started because in fact I DID name a mathcore band. I never said ALL mathcore bands sounded like that. I was just trying to say that THA is not mathcore. I would not classify them as that. You might, but I don't. I respect your opinion but I do not agree with it.

  • there is only one definition to "heavy": slow, chunky and chugging.

  • Are you dumb?Maybe by textbook definition. If you look at it for a type of music. Which is the topic we are on!

  • .... what? that made a jack-load of sense.

seriously, it irritates me to no fucking end when people say "stop classifying everything!!!!111!!!11!oneoneone"... there's gotta be some sort of order preserved or we have stupid fucking arguments that take up whole pages and, in the end, neither of us change our viewpoints anyway!

  • I never! said to top classifying music. Never did I say that, what I said is

there is only one definition to "heavy": slow, chunky and chugging. is wrong if you are talking about music. There can be heavy music that is not slow at all.

  • holy fuck, this is ridiculous...

    care to name some examples?

  • if this is to be classified as anything, it's crunk. Shit, boy....

  • if you can't name examples, you can't classify! provide information or your points are invalid!

  • okay

We Are Then End, is heavy music and they do not play their music slow.

  • the only heavy bits are played in the breakdowns, which are in half-time. the rest is "brutal" riffing and blast beats.

  • executor, i think youre finished. He's kickin' ass and takin' names against your bullet riddled arguments

  • he has no clue what constitutes mathcore - which was what the whole argument was about anyway, no insight about classifying and no idea how to separate his clumsy generalizations from specifics.

he listed one example - which was incorrect - in response to my question, whereas i provided multiple examples to his arguments.

but if you think they're flawed, please condescend to enlighten me how and why... just because he said he respected my opinion doesn't mean he's the better debater.

  • it does mean he effectively ended the argument with the courtesy to keep your dignity. a freedom, might i add, that you seem pretty determined to waive.

any given genre of music has so many different aspects involved that it's hard to call any song any genre without using at least one slash. these generalizations arent shoving it into a pidgeon hole, theyre just a rough estimate of the type of things you can expect to hear. no offense, but stop being a music nazi

  • sometimes there has to be this stupid strict "nazi" mentality... i for one am sick and tired of all the lazy unintelligent morons that seem to only care about listening to the music and couldn't give a rat's ass about being intellectually stimulated.

and it's not an effective end to the argument; it feels more like a cop-out, which is what it is in effect, and i end up irritated and i feel like i've been patronized whenever someone attempts to pass the thing off like that.

  • "I for one am sick and tired of all the lazy unintelligent morons thats seem to only care about listening to music"

    Kill yourself now

    Music will not fuck you

Kill yourself seriously put it on youtube

    it will be funny

  • ... and you're one of those morons.

  • and you are a scrawny bitch who will never get laid becuase he's thinking how intelligent a band is because they can sweep pick

  • ... wait, i can see how this "argument" is going to go. you insult my life, then you infer that i am a homosexual, then you imply that you had sex with my mother at some point in history, and then finish by declaring that you're not even going to argue with me any more because i'm too retarded, or something of the sort.

gotta love youtube arguments, huh? so, did you rent a brain to type this comment or what?

  • No your retardation on arguing about the way ppl enjoy music was the basis of this argument. I interpreted the virginity and scrawniness based on your videos and your comments.

Nice unprompted prediction of the future . I would not insult Homosexuals by lumping you in a category with them.

Turn off the computer and go whack it to a Malmsteen appregio or something. I assure you no one gives a rats ass about how you analyze music.

  • malmsteen is a pretentious asshole. i don't know where you have this idea that i idolize bands due to technicality; that did not get discussed in any part of this and you seem to have interpreted it rather strangely.

and believe me, i'm perfectly comfortable with my body image. if i weren't, i wouldn't have uploaded my vids... so believe me, your negative comments about me don't really phase me that much.

  • Analytical. Though I'm guessing you don't move away from the technical very often. Another unprompted outburst as to say you are a little insecure with that answer.

Theres a reason why ppl just listen. Its because people like you wont shut the fuck up about there goddamn interpretations and opinions on music and genres. Go sell it to yourself no one else is buying it.

  • drop the psychology bullshit. it doesn't suit your little attacks on someone that stopped posting about this two weeks ago.

and your logic is depressingly circular. i say i analyze music because idiots are too inclined to not give a rat's ass about it - and you respond by saying "people just listen because of you analyzing fucks". it's like saying fat people eat cake because it exists, but cake exists for fat people to eat.

  • Wow, not only do you show the inability to comprehend an argument you take an interjection of irony as a factual argument. The victim of irony fails to see the lack of seriousness in the statement. I'm guessing comprehension is the race you came out of a little gimpy.

No one cares about what you listen to.

No one cares about how you listen to it.

No one cares that you care about what they listen to.

No one cares about this post.

You see a pattern? Let me help you. No one cares.

  • Me? I find it humorous you can't find anything.

  • so why are you staying around in here? thank you for refreshing a bullshit argument anyway and adding a few more hours of pointless spouting to my day. you make us all so very happy.

  • Well at least you get something...

  • also, PTH and THA are both mathcore bands - as i explained a page back - and this completely and totally agrees with your idea that you "need at least one slash" to classify music. i went through the whole thing with this guy - the whole "mathcore/prog metalcore" thing - and in the end, it was he that failed to understand that, not me.

  • wow ur a big nerd with the !!11!1!11!1!! shit

  • thank you for the attempted trolling of an argument that ended a while ago.

    fuck off.

  • dude this is the internet, arguments never end

  • i admit you have fully destroyed me without even responding to my original argument. you are miles better than i will ever hope to be and i will cry myself to sleep every night thinking how much more awesome you are than me.

you satisfied? or does your little ego need some more stroking? you want to make yourself feel better by bringing up stupid shit again?

    ... dumbass.

  • this is the exact reason why i hate music genres. this entire argument could have been avoided if people like you just let the music be music. instead you have to categorize everything. go get a job as a secretary if thats what you want to do all ur life

  • i will never understand why lazy dicks like you perpetuate the idea that ignorance is key to enjoying music. it's not about categorizing. it's not about obsessive music nazism. it's about the fact that i like to know what kind of music i'm listening to.

i've heard the same old tired excuse time after time: "just let it be music guys! it's not a big deal!" well, to me it is.

and you fucking hypocrite... "these pointless arguments are entertaining!"

you're in one now. shut the fuck up.

  • First of all im not being a hypocrite. I find this whole thing hilarious. I also believe that your being very entertained as well. If you weren't, you wouldn't be coming back to reply. i think that you enjoy coming back to these comments in attempt to post a stronger argument

i can see that u stay strong to your opinions but so do others. Calling someone a "ignorant lazy dick" isn't going to end this.

im not trolling any thing im just stating my opinions

p.s. still think u bad at screaming

  • tough. i'm still going to keep doing it. one put-down isn't going to stop my attempts.

"enjoy" coming back? fuck no. need to? fuck yes. if some jackass like you has the last word, what the hell does that mean for me?

  • I lol'd.

  • good to know.

  • do u actually take all of these petty you tube arguments seriously? i really don't understand you

  • very.

many people don't understand me, which suits me. i prefer to be a faceless asshole music nazi, to be honest.

  • imj with you man

even tho i love this band i love sturing up shit with noobs

  • the greatest band ever :)

  • jajajaja

  • well good band

  • :) Amazing song by an amazingly talented group of people :))))

  • so great...

  • By burden of blood we saw reflections of who we are

As the knowledge that burns in our hearts takes charge

Blessings made at a house in the distance

An unworthy authority looking to find a worthy culprit

Accounting lost, stranded hindsight, words were not enough

Repeat the cycle with devils in your veins

More than simply shaken, a line divides

Blood ties are forsaken, grudges still are found

  • In kindred we are bound. So deep in our blood, ages come, ages go, never freed

Never, thats what you told me

Time and again we have them down on their knees

Beg for mercy, beg, time and again

How many times will I be called to feel this rage?

How many times will I be taken to that place?

No peace of mind until the seas run dry

Forced to inflict these scars, reflections of who we are

A legacy carried on too long

  • the screaming is amazing.

I wish I had the nerve to scream all that!!

  • BOOD TIES ARE FORSAKEN!!!

  • THA rules!!!!!

  • I just snagged this cd from Amazon. This one's gonna be in my car cd player for a LONG time! =D It's good to know that there is still some live in the heavy music genre. Fucking sick-ass song!

  • 0:45 i love that bit

  • Fucking insane

  • And thanks for the upload.

  • Fucking amazing.
