  • Great job educating.

  • good

  • @LegoWilly

    hi

    thank you

    :)

  • @LegoWilly

i do not think that is correct.

    you have 5 tens

    you have 1 unit

    what do i call .50 ?

What do i call something that is smaller then 1 unit.

  • I'm 11, from Singapore too, but I'm great at Math, but I get careless sometimes so I want to see if I can solve some tough questions like I did to a Sec 1 question.

  • hi mr khan can you please tell me what it means if we had less then a unit for example $1351.50 cents you will 1 thousands 3 hundreds 50 tens 1 units what do i call the remaining .50 cents? do you have a video that explains what is less then a unit. thank you
  • I am training my 4 yr old baby girl abacus, and she knows her counting till 1000. But when I showed her last night this video, she was so exited that she wanted to see it again, although she was so tired! Thank you! This is the first best thing since the educational Disney shows :)

  • The term "Singapore math" refers to the company publishing math books, not the math taught in Singapore. It has nothing to do with Singapore.

  • Is it for 8 year old? Standard must be low now than decades ago. I was running my father's shop on my own at thatage as well as top student in the school let alone finishing maths problems in minutes and correct fellowstudent's work on behalf of my maths teacher.

  • HAHAHHAHHAHA how he obsesses with drawing his... ridiculous marble can.

  • This is why singapore is one of the smartest countries in the world :)

  • I actually watch the whole thing. im 18 -.-

  • Oh MY GOD YOU TAKE 15 MINUTES TO TEACH THE POWERS OF 10?

  • @privateping dude read the title of the video its grade 3 stuff.

  • @privateping dude read the title of the video its grade 3 stuff in other words for little kids

  • If you have any homework problems, check out my site, and feel free to answer others questions! site: hwhelpblog.webs.c0m/

  • Nice. I have to teach this next year and appreciate your videos! Thank you so much for sharing!

  • I'm a Singaporean student who goes through the "Singapore Math" program so to speak and with all due respect, I do believe that Mr Khan's initiatives should be fully supported. It irks me to see fellow Singaporeans terming his way of teaching convoluted or talking too much. Please appreciate that Mr Khan is in some ways limited by the internet. Furthermore, we all know how hopeless some math teachers can be and Mr Khan is a gem in comparison. Also, may I ask how is IP elitist?

  • i don't think they teach this in grade 3 anymore... it more like grade 2 now, they are making math harder and harder for our kids... =(

  • why is it even called singapore math... sigh. i dont think there is anything especially different about math or the way its thought in singapore. take tuition or memorize techniques from assesment bks, do past yr qns, thats how we do it lol

  • @subfrostedzero

They way Singapore teaches Math is easier..

I tried Math curriculum in Asian countries like Philippines and Thailand

they suck.. its hard to understand even if they speak English lah.

  • singapore has its own math?

  • im from singapore and not a teacher.i think the way he teaches is great and totally appreciate the videos he did. There are children who need helps like this.

aquapixy, most sg kids memorize problems.

More communications, more indepth teachings make them understand. theres nothing yet 2 be proud abt our education system. so appreciate the others for helping

  • Children do not memorise problems. If they don't understand it, they usually can't solve it.

Singapore's math syllabus is good, albeit more should be focused on the arts. The IP programme is a great idea.

  • @victimofsleep IP is an elitist programme.

  • can you replace the marbles for the number 10? so students can correlate the number with the value

  • dude.. if i am your student for singapore math, i won't improve. I'm a singaporean math teacher and i think there are so much talk in your videos that you are getting the concepts across to people. Singaporean math teachers don't talk as much as you do, yet the students get the concepts without getting bored.

  • Singapore maths is not taught in such convoluted way. It confounds more than it defines the concept, if singapore maths is taught by this fella!

  • retarded!

  • mathEMATICS

  • khan, are you Singaporean ? o.o why are you teaching Singapore math ? you should teach China math aha they got the best math

  • khan ni na. kddn lol.

  • I'm from Singapore and I'm 8 years old.Math is my worst subject but still above average.I have to watch this video to improve my maths.

  • hahaha

    Singapore people also speak English.

    It is our colony.

  • 3:28

  • what is singapore math?

  • Math education taught in Singapore

  • Singapore math never impressed me though they get results at least for some kids.

I've always been better using Rusczyk and Lehoczky's Art of Problem Solving.

  • Singapore math actually makes it easier for students to understand. In regular Saxon math, you teach algorithms, steps to solve an equation. In Singapore math, you teach logic and why something is correct, not just how to solve it. Although, I have to agree that Khan is the worst teacher for Singapore math, he's very confusing. Great teachers do very well. Singapore math is mostly for foundations though.

  • Children will be watching this video. Clean-up your language.

  • LOL @ "A hundred can would be roughly ten times the size of a ten can." 3:45

  • scientiptically.......

  • theres forty-eleven numbers less than 10,000. btybpitcally, it can be done on a Kalkalator. it used to be a human, when he wrote the book wrong. thats why they made the button on vcr that turns it on. because Kalkalator used to be a human.

do you know anything about diesels?

  • What are you talking about?

  • it may be a little retro, but i like to bring rotel dip for the nakhos. have you ever worked on an aircraft engine before?

  • ptiptipcally, dont go down to the pond didnt you know you could get drown down there? scientiptically, thats math lesson for zample 1. you need to write more zamples down in your notes. if i have hay bales, am gonna bale them or am i gonna go fishing, because you make more money fishing than baling hay all day.

when your doing the inkrees and dekrees kalculamatics, remember that: does things always grow?

    Eggar.

  • ptyptically, im good at teaching math. the Kalatoarans will only work some of the time. most of the time they work. do you even know if youll have a job? not this days.

    is Bahmen or Byro?

theres probably forty eleven ways to spell it.

    im not mad.

  • i dont agree with this way of solving the equaton, if you look its quite the complicated. the way i do it is draw a box and then do this: [t34p34-j51(353+325a)-343r+798q]=8593785tpjar. then you simpify it. 1tpjar.

its much the more easier way.

    Eggar.

  • more effective than kumon...

  • "I'm such an ambitious marble collector." ha ha ha. I love your videos man. You are a great person with a brilliant mind.

  • i don believe i actually finish watching this..

  • why singapore still need private tutions...

what are the teachers in schools doing ,,,

  • they fail to capture students' attention during school, and a pass in singaporean schools is a dismal result.

  • Singaporean parents damn scared of losing. The teachers in school are poor things - Everone expects results from them but yet they have so little authority over the softie Singaporean kids nowadays. We will need tougher NS before a whole generation wastes the nation away!!!

  • sal i envy your brain power

  • what is singapore math? what's the difference? what's the purpose?

  • Its easier to understand. Singapore's students have had first place in maths for many years.
