This song, "Fanfare for the Common Man" was not written for soldiers or royalty or anyone of high station. It was written for the common men, women and children of the day. Many who suffered at the hands of fomentors of war and hatred and who had no protection against the war machines and weapons that have killed millions since World War 1 onwards. For once, someone actually wrote a song for the common men, women and children who deserve just as much respect
@Chuckles123thefish Soldiers are not like "royalty or anyone of high station," so why you would choose to equate them with such is a mystery to me. Soldiers ARE - with few exceptions - common men and women, no different than the civilians they defend with their lives on a daily basis. The men who stormed the beaches of Normandy weren't kings, they were, by and large, the sons of coal miners, farmers, shop keepers and dock workers. You would do well to remember that.
Great video! The people that defend our freedom come from " all walks of life". They are truly the common man/woman. People do not realize that there are over 100 wars going on in this world today.... many we do not hear about on the news. We have military personnel making sacrifices in the smallest of countries and in the most unhospitable places on this earth. They do this voluntarily and with pride in order to provide freedom for " all walks of life"... the common man.
These people, thrust into the role of righteouss protection of our most sacred gift. Freedom. And this freedom is not free, it has a cost, and that cost is sacrifice. Sacrifice that no one can understand. They can only feel it.
GOD BLESS THE AMERICAN ARMED FORCES.....true liberators and defenders of freedom around the world...your shining lite will never dim..now or ever..Keep doing the Lord's work
Wow this video is so much more moving if you watch the last 20 seconds of the video. Wow, those pictures are amazing. Especially the last one! Love the song too; it's been a definite pleasure to watch and listen to this video.
What's funny, this particular song was written for the homefront workers during the Second World War. It seems more like it was written for the men over seas than anything.
Thank you to all our brave troops who served to save our nation and the free world. Thank you Edward for this memorial! God bless our troops and all others who give themselves to serve and protect the freedoms and liberty of this nation and the the entire world. We loved the lady Iraqi with her finger inked in as she had her freedom excercised to vote, what a day that was for her abd many!
Please respect boots on the ground. They didn't die for f... sake, they died for all our sake, yours and mine. Respect.

People can disrespect politicians on their decisions all they like, but when people are disrespectful towards soldiers... well that I can't stand.
