  • check out #s 55 and 75 at 1:19. just sick. #55 was in position to make the play, misses, and then gets crushed by a block. #75 chased the play just to have barry fake and then run BEHIND him for the touch. and remember that this was the dominant dallas defense of the 90s. barry was the best that ive ever seen. period.

  • having grown up in kansas, i can tell you that barry was doing this type of thing even in high school at wichita southeast. he was a beast. how many guys you know can back out of a hole(that opens and closes in fractions of a second) and turn it into a huge gain? dont worry, i'll wait...

  • 1:24 great job number 75 fat ass

  • Had ahorrible O line almost everyseason. The best ever and he went to waste on that Lions team.

  • walter who? and emmit who? berry could out run emmit and out juke walter any day of the week, i grew up watching him play college ball at osu in real life and he was good then just got better when he hit the pro's and yes im a die hard sooner fan but the only one that could come close was billy sims, but even then i dont think so and got to watch billy sims play ball too in real life not a video

  • u know y sanders is overrated?

cause of PLAYOFF PERFORMANCE. In four career outdoor postseason games, Sanders averaged a paltry 2.8 yards per carry. He never scored a touchdown. And he never ran for more than 65 yards in a single game. With Sanders, the Lions went 0-4 in outdoor playoff games, losing by an average of 17 points.

  • @XxM1KeXxTYSONXx Everyteam in the playoffs were good teams and they all know Baryy is getting the ball. The numbers don't represent everything and tell the whole story. He was only bested by Jim Brown in my opinon. He had no one else on his team ever. Name a team he had that had a good quarterback and receiver tandem to go deep in the playoffs. Give Barry the ball was the plan come playoff time and all the teams knew it.

  • There is a "world champion" or "NFL all time running leader" . . . but, this is real pure running man, Barry is the great talent, he live in our hearts.

  • Omg that is the most pathetic attempt at blocking I have ever seen at 4:07. I know the Lions didn't have a line, but I know for a fact college, perhaps even the best of high schools, could do better to block than that.

  • just breath taking amazing moves quick n fast cuts on a dime n turbo boosts hit hard to tackle overall one of the greats i miss him wish he would of played a little longer!!!

  • Barry Sanders was great, I hope to see his son in the Lions after college, Im sure the Lions coach will learn to practice the O-line once he sees Sanders Jr. comin haha jk but I do hope Sanders Jr. comes to Lions like his dad.

  • Barry Sanders had such strong and powerful legs with his abnormally low center of gravity. The guy was born and built to be an NFL running back, almost uncanny talent and ability.

  • BARRY SANDERS BY FAR IS THE BEST RUNNING BACK OF ALL TIME, HE IS A BEAST.

  • That deke at 1:59 is poetry in motion

  • Barry Sanders is without a doubt ONE of the greatest running backs in the history of the NFL...if he played for a team that had a offensive line instead of the fuck ass lions he would go down in history as THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME bar none...

  • Barry had a pro-bowl lineman in front of him for 8 years. 1995 he had 2 pro-bowl linemen. The Lions had a statistically sound front line offense making the playoffs a total of six times, while winning the division twice. Overall, Payton's Bear's had a lot less. No one, not even as far back as Jim Brown can compare or did as much with so little than what Payton achieved. Run all stats, only then, will you see the full truth of all contributing factors to an RB's stats. Barry's still great though.

  • @Jerrico71

sorry but one good linemen does not make a line. I can argue that the rest of barry's line was worse on average than the average man on the bears line, basically evening things out.

  • @splendid1000 I've got all the stats of the whole teams that backed them up and watched all the archived footage from a sports writer friend of mine because I wanted to dig into the details due to the controversy. I bounced more than just these two running backs and after all is said and done from a neutral point. Waltery Payton was the winner. Barry was a close second though. Payton is just a coaches dream player with all his talent and versatility.

  • @Jerrico71 You couldn't sell that on a street corner buddy... Besides, four people could watch the same thing and come to a different conclusion.

  • @yfz01 heh, believe what you will 'cause you will regardless. If you've taken any sort of stats class you'll know you must approach research with a "random" mind set to get accurate results. Even though I was the group lead, the group comprised of 6; 2 didn't even follow football & it was a consensus. Nothing to sell here, the exhaustive research spoke on its own & unless you yourself have access to all the information from the whole team you're operating solely on your opinion & half-truths.

  • @Jerrico71 You knew football before doing the research, how can you say you went into it with a random mindset? The two that didn't know football could have been swayed by the others in the group. Unless each person watched the film independently. Watching all of the archived footage could very well exclude some of the better games by one player or the other. The point being, we are both going off "opinions & half-truths"

  • @yfz01 ^ That answer is assuming you told the truth & this isn't. Lucky for you, 6 people had enough time to watch a very large amount of video for a stats class, in what I can only assume is college (college students aren't busy..). Lucky for you, your sports writer friend was willing to hand over all of that archived footage. But yeah... If it was a general consensus, who the best RB is, nobody would ever have this debate.

  • @yfz01 There's just not enough room here in the small ol' comments sections to clarify. Bits of information here and there are misleading. It was several months of data collecting, vid watching etc. to gather all the contributing factors that assists a running back with his stats. Too comprehensive to explain in short burst comments. Bo Jackson, OJ Simpson, Emitt Smith, Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Herschel Walker were the targets only because they seem to be the most argued.

  • @yfz01 you are 100% right. Doing the research that way does blur results. The "random" mind set I spoke about is only to keep things in honest context which is just a platform to continue the integrity of the study. I assure you it was controlled and each member was on their own except when we'd group the findings. No jury type discussion/coercion took place. I encourage & challenge you & a group of diverse friends to do the same. Solicit the NFL & connections for "all" records/vids. Peace. :-)

  • @Jerrico71 what was this research done for and when was it done? I've always thought a random group of people would go for the guy making the most splash plays (same reason almost everyone would take DeSean Jackson over Jeremy Maclin). Those people might not realize the larger talent pool of the 90s instead of the 70s, which is another thing to factor in. A few years ago I showed my friend (RB for my HS team) some highlights and he was blown away by Sanders, coincidence? No idea.

  • @yfz01 It was done for college last year. We thought about including newer limelight players i.e. some finishing not long ago (records/stats good but not comparatively) & some till playing (i.e. we would've needed to introduce a very long timeline of averages so they are all measured on an identical scale) It was two parts: a shortened measurement of all players to the shorter career players & then vice-versa. Have you seen those highlights of Barry’s son? Hybrid of his dad, JB & WP. Amazing!

  • @Jerrico71 Of course I've seen Sander Jrs highlights. I'm not willing to say he is a hybrid of those great RBs yet, because if you watched Barry Sanders in college, you'd notice that he was unstoppable. Barry Jr looks very impressive though, and will probably go on to have himself a pretty damn good career.

  • Enough with comparing Adrian Peterson with Barry. Barry had 803 consecutive carries(over 3 seasons) without a Fumble. Enough said!!

  • bad graphics

  • I gotta agree about that Emmitt and Barry switch. Don't get me wrong Emmitt was a good back, but he also had a great overall team where defensive game plans (or team game plans) didn't focus on just him. Only thing teams had to worry about with the Lions was keeping them off the field and keeping Barry contained somehow and they still had enough trouble despite the O-line throwing lookout blocks.

  • Barry Is the greatest running back ever

  • 1:24 Are you SERIOUS?!

  • sick

  • Emmitt Smith was a great running back! Barry was great and if he would of had Dallas's offensive line then he would be greater. Emmit Smith may not have had the most skills but he had determination, heart, and sportsmanship. Watch some of his highlights.

  • There is two things I wish I could bring back to Lions' football: Barry Sanders and Honolulu Blue & Silver.

Wake me up when this Black & Blue crap has been tossed in the can.

  • Epic song choice for the second part *thumbs up*

  • @eseguey85 It's one of my favorite songs by my favorite band! Figured it is worthy of my favorite running back ever.

  • You know every defender was thinking the same thing "no handoff...Oh please God no handoff."

  • Thank you to the shitty lions O Line...if it wasn't for you there would not be so many amazing highlights from mr. barry sanders hahaha

  • I remember him saying he was always scared of getting hit. So he ran as fast as he could and juked all over the place so defenders could not hit him hard. Well I guess all the great players never really take many hard hits because they avoid the best tacklers. He just ran like a mad man.

  • poor barry...only if he has dallas's offensive line

  • Barry Sanders is the greatest running back to ever play...it's not even close. I remember watching him and thinking this guy is so ridiciously good that he should be illegal. The man didn't even need a offensive line!! My stomach turns at the thought of the lions bungling his talent thus cheating us of 3-5 more years of watching this man make defenders look stupid. I'm not a lions fan but Barry is my favorite player i ever had the pleasure to watch.

  • It used to make my Thanksgiving watching this cat do his thing.

  • In my opinion, Barry Sanders is the greatest running back of all time. I am not taking anything away from Jim Brown, Walter Payton, Eric Dickerson, or any other great back, but what Barry did was just unbelievable. He made every run exciting, and everyone held their breath every time he touched the ball. What other back would make you do that?

  • As much of a lions fan i am... i wish they would have gave him his release the year he quit just so he could go to a team with an O-Line and get the superbowl he deserved. He gave the lions all of his loyalty.

  • Whats the name of the first song?

  • It's hard to compare backs from different eras because the game's changed so much, but if you must, you have to go with Barry over Brown. Brown was great, but he was bigger than the D-linemen of his era. He was ahead of his time, but he never would have survived the steroids era of the 90's (or 2000's for that matter), which is why what Barry did was so impressive. If you want to argue who was more dominant in his respective era, then you go with Brown. But Barry was the better back.

  • I was a fan of Barry Sanders and enjoyed watching him play. I've read over alot of these comments and there seems to be alot of people comparing Jim Brown to Barry Sanders. I will say this much. I was lucky enough to see both Jim Brown (watched him in person many times) and Barry Sanders (saw him play a few times in person) but I'll put the debate to end very quickly. Jim Brown was definitely better than Sanders period!

  • 1:31 made the Cowboys look silly...

  • just so everyone knows...the song isnt baba o riley by the who. song is bittersweet symphony by the verve.

how can you compare this shitty song to the who.

  • ask jack del rio, current coach of the jaguars, how good barry is. anyone who knows football knows that holes open and close in a split second, literally. del rio tells of one play where barry darted into the hole and del rio(a linebacker) met him there, then barry backed out of it and went around the end, leaving del rio grasping at nothing but air. who else could do that? look at this video and appreciate the greatness. enough said.

  • its amazing how he never got injured on that turf with all those cuts he used to make

  • fuck u man! look at the stats Jim brown was an amazing athlete but Barry was a better running back because of his ability to turn something into nothing. He had a horrible line and no other good players which just concentrates on barry. Jim brown had tons of excellent players that helped Jim brown the make better runs.... so really obviously have no idea what ur talking about

  • @CleavlandBrowns32 I doubt a 70 year old talks like that and to use a computer......especially know a site like YouTube. Go to sleep gramps, I'm sorry that they have nothing better to do in your retirement home..........

  • yeh Brown was Great But Marcus Allen Boy What the Fuck are you Smokin he wasnt even a feature back. 12,000 yards in 16 years with 16 game seasons you must be high or somthing Just what Offensive line did he make good i thought Herschal Walker was a way better runningback in the Pro's Heck Marcus Allen was a back up for several years what the hell are you smokin?? I thought you were smart there for second but nope where the hell were you the past 40 years you dont know shit man

  • @CleavlandBrowns32 are you okay? seriously is somethin wrong?

  • @CleavlandBrowns32 Randy Moss would destroy Jim Brown at basketball... Does that make him a better running back? Think before you comment. There are plenty of actual arguments in favor of Brown... Anyways, I'm assuming Youtube removed your comments, probably because they were full of you bitching but i'm not posititve.

  • @CleavlandBrowns32 What does being good at basketball have to do with being a good running back. Oh and 10 pro bowls, 3 MVPs, offensive rookie of the year, and two offensive player of the year awards. Yeah he's a total bitch ass running back

  • @CleavlandBrowns32 let me guess, Cleveland browns fan. barry was defenitley better. the best running back of all time and bad team. oh and he went to a college i dont even like and i dont have a fav nfl team. oh and you spelled cleveland wrong.

  • @CleavlandBrowns32 wow..u would have been credible....however u sound like the guy butt raped u

  • @CleavlandBrowns32 Your a moron, Barry ran behind one of the Worse offensive lines, and for the worse team in the past twenty years. He was the team, and carried them to all their wins during his tenure. If he would have continued his career, he would have broken most if not all Walters records, those of which he did not already shatter that is.

  • @CleavlandBrowns32 { falls out of chair laughing } This guy has smoked himself into a retard LMAO

  • @CleavlandBrowns32 You're ignorant, you do realize that Barry Sander is actually a very powerful man? He's small, but he could dunk the ball standing right benath the basket, flat-footed. Barry Sanders was 210, 5'8, Jim Brown was 6'2, 230. If Sanders was the same height as brown, I think they would weigh the same.

  • That man ran like no other!! Pure poetry in motion when the ball was in his hands. I'll tell you there are arguements to be made for payton, smith, brown and sayers but no one will ever convince me they were a better running back than barry. He simply did things no other running back has ever done as far as moves. You give that man emmits o-line and he would have rushed for 2500 every year. But what i liked the most about barry was his class, he never danced or puffed up when he scored.

  • People say Barry's O line was poor- not exactly. Would we have Hogs without Riggins.? Who preceded Barry? Nobody remembers (Gerry James 3.0 yards per carry) because lines really go for it if their ball carrier can make something happen. Before Marcus Allen ? Kenny King . When Marcus came, that line looked great because Marcus was running the ball. Shortly thereafter the Raiders beat the Skins in the superbowl. My point is a great runner makes great line more than great lines make the runner!

  • @320jsimpson1 -" Great runners make great lines". A quote that I heard from Jim Brown and when you look at great runners of history it's usually the case. Who preceded Walter Payton? Ken Grandberry and 2 other guys who averaged about 3.5 yards per carry. Throughout history this is almost the case. I wouldn't use a line as an excuse because Berry's production was out of site and he could make things happen. Most elusive ever, Barry - Number 1 ever Jim Brown and Payton. They moved chains and won

  • Barry Sanders is probably the best college runner that I ever saw. Luckily ESPN had OSU on tv many times that season. I was working many hours per week and the greatest times that I remember that year were being with my girlfiend and watching Barry in that order. Week after week he continued to amaze me and I wasn't surprised that he wasn't the 1st pick due to his height.

When he came into the NFL he continued to excel. He made the Lions line look good as only great runners can do.

  • If Barry had Emmit's offensive line he would have rushed for over 20,000 yards. Easily the best runningback of all time. How many seasons would he have rushed for over 2,000 yards give me a break. There's no comparison between Emmit and Barry. In my opinion Emmit isn't even a top 5 runningback of all time

    1.Barry Sanders

    2.Walter Payton

    3.Jim Brown

    4.Eric Dickerson

    5.Marshall Faulk

  • @TheEdub1 - Barry was a super little specimen , his only fault he was thrown for more losses than any back for several seasons. Jim Brown won the rushing title in 8 of his 9 years. He still has the highest average yards per carry at 5.2 and everybody knew he was coming. Walter was only 200 pounds but much more powerful than Sanders and he averaged 4.4 yds per carry for a career. Barry averaged 5.0 yards per carry for a career. One could debate Sanders vs Payton. However, Brown stands above all !

  • Barry Sanders never had an O LINE HIS WHOLE CAREER?? Also the most humble loyal athlete to ever play any SPORT EVER.

  • When i watch Barry Sander videos.... All that comes into mind is that He made the NFL look like he was playing Madden on Rookie Mode. But in REAL LIFE lol.

  • the best ever. period,

  • LOL at #75 at 1:28!

  • @TheSimeeB I know, he's like "Oh well.".

  • damn, I see why he left. He was the only one of the lions who was putting up points. If i was him, i'd lost motivation too.

  • In terms of raw talent... their is no question Barry Sanders is the most amazing football player to have ever played the game! He made these guys look like they were playing a game of street ball. Barry Sanders is an artist!

  • Somtimes you forget what an absolute freak Barry Sanders was. Todays backs, Peterson, Chris Johnson, LT etc. are all great in their own way but nobody can juke like Barry. You didn't tackle him so much as you avoided being embaressed by him on that particular play.

  • you x,y,z, next gens have no idea about anything. Just leave your braindead crap in front of the television and game console, or cell phne while you keep amusing yourselves to death. Hey, lets all go home so we can be with each other on the computer or text ! I don't feel guilty just because I came from a nice white neighborhood with few felons and less than one gunshot a year.

  • GAY SONG

  • great video sucky quality but it deserves 5 stars still

  • I don't know if Barry was the best "running back" of all time... but no doubt he was the best pure runner who ever played. Averaged 5 YPC in his career and was met in the backfield in probably a third of his career attempts.

  • @shock1974 alot of people call bo jackson a "what if". but he was not much more then a "what if" then berry sanders. "what if" he played for dallas and not lions". "what if" bo jackson went to film, training camp, full seasons, took football seriously like barry sanders.

  • people say all sorts of things about barry. how he's not the best of all time because he's not the all time leading rusher. if he had emmits OL, can anyone imagine his stats. 3rd all time with a crappy OL, he averaged 5 YPC.

  • wow just the best agility ever and elusive backs ever.

even todays backs are not as good as this

  • He also only played 10 years 4 years less than Emmit or did Emmit play 15 years either way if Barry only played12 years he would have been #1 all time.

  • 1) Walter Peyton

    2) Barry Sanders

    3 )Jim Brown

  • Not at all cool, dude.

  • the most nelectrifying back of all time. Class all the way- flipped the ball to the ref, never a celebrator, he knew he'd be back into the endzone again. Chad ochojohnson and TO and a whole bunch of others could learn a bit of humility from him. Thanksgiving just isn't the same without him!

  • @johnnydocman HERE,HERE

  • To anyone who post a negative comment about Barry, lets remember that he played for some questionable Detroit squads...and that if he would have had Emmits line he would have rushed for 20,000 yards in 10 yrs. instead of 15...the amount of negative yardage he obtained was largely due to his O line...not him...

  • I agree if Barry and Emmit switch teams Barry would have blown out all records in only 10 years and probably would have 5 or 6 rings. Emmit wouldn't have even sniffed the hall of fame if he played for the Lions in my opinion Emmit is the most over rated RB ever at least by Dallas fans.

  • yea i totally agree. barry would of killed it.

  • @pcaflint i agree with you 100%

  • @pcaflint Agreed- Barry ran for his life with detroit, If he was with Dallas- He would have records forever!!!

  • @pcaflint I thought this argument ended a long time ago with the popularization of the internet, in which we were all able to see that Barry was much much better than Emmit.

  • @pcaflint Emmit is probably the one that disliked this video 3 times.

  • @pcaflint thats what i tell thses fag dallas fans.

  • Yes he was great! So is this video!! 5 stars!!

  • Barry Sanders Could have probably beat any team on his own, cuz he basically did with no help from the 'team'. He was a god amongst men. (:

  • i normally never comment but if what you said was true the man cracked 15000 yrds from scrimmage in 10 seasons and emmitt and walter took 17 years to crack 17000 you do the math. by the way he played for the lions and without looking it up be truthfull name me another teammate. he was the lions

  • alright and i kno this adds fuel to the fire but i have been drinkin a little bit it took emmitt 14 years and walter 13 years i have no idea where 17 came from my bad

  • @kassius dude his career average is 6.1 yards so what are you talking about!!

  • The greatest of all time. And I love his endzone celebration: flip the ball to the ref, slap hands with teammates, go to bench. Awesome. The very last highlight here is the best; when Peete (the QB) signals TD before Barry even crosses the line of scrimmage. And he scores!

  • Comment removed

  • he could have broken the rushing record 3 times when he fell within 25 yards of it in the last game buttt they were down and didnt care if the went with pass for the win that they ended up losing anyway

  • its sad a player as great as him was wasted in detroit, could you imagine him on the recent patriots haha

  • Hey He Wasnt WASTED! He Achieved Alot Being With The Suckiest Team Ever!

  • he was the king. hell, he still is... 14 straight games of 100+ yards!! No One can hang with Barry. We all miss him for sure. What the hell happened to him any way.

  • He retired

  • @PaintThePlanet He's retired. He said Detroit ruined his competitive spirit. His son is a 2011 prospect for college.

  • 75 and 51 at 1:30

  • Ahaha the run at 0.45 :p

  • He is the best ever he played 10 seasons and had 15000 yards and it took walter payton and emmit smith 17 seasons to get 17000 yards hahaha do the math and tell me who is the best

  • I always keep thinking what if he would've had a Offensive Line with Dalla's caliber in that time... Simply the best ever

  • your name is mfredrick12 a very gay clothing store, so dont talk

  • lol

the lions are in need of his son barry sanders jr so thee lions could be good again

  • Barry was best RB by far that ever played the game. Jim Brown had nothing on BARRY.

  • @bearoaktree - Tons more power and he moved the chains. You never saw Brown. Watch the video where Hall Of Famers talk about Jim Brown. Deacon Jones , he was just one man running couldnt be stopped and I was sure glad to see him retire. Parcells speaks in the video and readily admits Brown was the best. Hornung, Kanicki and Bobby Mitchell who played alongside Brown says if we had the 15 camera angles like today people wouldn't believe he was human. Mitchell still in Skins front office.

  • @320jsimpson1 Yeh Brown was good but i like your Name OJ OJ yeh i agree with you 100% man OJ #1 Brown #2 us black cats got to keep it real OJ is is inocent

  • @CleavlandBrowns32 ummmmmmmmmmmmmm no

  • @bearoaktree except attitude but the pissed off players do the best

  • and this was all accomplished with never having an O-line...simply amazing!!!

  • for reall people say that he wasent all that just because he never one a superbowl

but its a team sport he didnt have a team to back him up but look at what he did though

    amazing

  • Jim Brown averaged 1368 yards at 5.2 a carry and only played in 14 games a season

Payton averaged 1286 at 4.4 yrds per carry and for the first 3 seasons he only played 14 games a year and in 82 the NFL went on strike.

Smith averaged 1226 at 4.2 yards a carry

Dickerson was 1019 and thats at 4.4 yards per carry

Sanders of course is at 1526 yards per year at 5.0 yards per carry even with losing yards he out did them all but brown. Fact is if Sanders had not retired It would be his record

  • Incredible

  • Being a Lions fan is rough but having grown up watching Barry live makes it all worth it!

  • just amazing...

  • wont be another back like him in the league

  • Comparing Barry to walter payton is like Tupac To biggie, there both amazing and you need to appreitace them for what they brought you.

  • Yes, but one is still better than the other.

  • the most electrifying entertaining running back ever

  • 7:53 that bitch got stiff armed

  • how in the hell did barry EVER make a run with that shitty of a line. hes a GOD no lie hes the best there ever was or ever will be

  • What makes a the man so GREAT is that even though he didn't get the numbers to make him the all time leading rusher, enough people talk about the fact that if he didn't retire, he would have gotten it easily! That makes his legend and status that much better! Because it's the knowing that he would have done it and that there's no need to prove it. People knew!

  • Barry Sanders is the greatest! He is ever like Michael Jordan in NBA

  • hoestly barry is everything i ever wanted 2 b he is my idol and my god he is the 1 i worship. oh and btw im only 16 not around long enough 2 appreciate his full reign as GOD

  • hey speegs i dare u 2 talk that shit 2 barry in person and see if u dont get ur ass whooped. he would eat ur ass 4 breakfast

  • lmao @ 1:25 ish.... #75 looking lost.... "hunh *scratches head* wheae hee go"

  • the things this man was able to accomplish on a team of utter shit makes him the greatest running back of all time.

Broken plays turned into touchdowns, and no one could fucking tackle him.

  • this speegs guy has a monster boner for smith - he's good - but not even in the same sentence as sanders - keeps spitting out obvious truths - like emmit won three super bowls - sure - with troy aikman, michael irvin - a solid O-line ( nate newton - larry allen - both pro bowlers ) and a great defence - super bowls are a team achievement - barry sanders rocked the NFL for ten years - on the lions - who sucked bags even with him. no less than Jim Brown, Earl Campbell and Gale Sayers say barry

  • even if he ran backwards it's pretty huh

  • Look what Barry did with the line he had. Can anyone wrap their mind around what he would have done in the Dallas backfield?? Smith is the most overrated player I've ever seen. The Fridge could have rushed for as many yards with that Dallas line.

  • best barry movie yet on youtube

  • he wasnt even 5'10" , was only 5'8" 200lbs. Small on nfl scale but has serious power in those legs to break tackles and cut. We will probably never see a back in our lives with his skills. If he was on super bowl teams he would be talked about as greatest player to ever play.

  • why'd you pick the gayest song ever?

  • he provided a lot of teams defense with some serious kiss the baby moments. probably made them feel like little leaguers. he's such an inspiration. a lot of players bring their heart to the game but i think barry stands in the company of very very few who was totally devoted to carrying. he took the game to another level.

  • 1:20...watch #75 from the cowboys. he overran the play, then barry cut and ran right behind him. dude had no fucking idea! you can see it when he turned his head to look...

  • No way was he human

  • No he was just Superhuman in his skills.

Jim Brown who hardly gave anyone compliments called him a "little genius" and the most talented running back in the game.

In terms of pure skill he was the best that ever played.

  • Trying to tackle Barry Sanders was like trying to tackle a ghost A class act, walked away from the game on his terms, and when scoring a touchdown, Never showboated..,.the real deal, Barry is in a class by himself.

  • dude is like a pinball bouncing off of defenders

  • I'd say Barry was the running back equivalent of Michael Jordan. The NFL has never seen anyone else with such an ability to stop on a dime and change direction in a split second. He was an anklebreaker.

Barry was a better back than Emmitt Smith. It's a shame he never had the support Emmitt had.

  • most great running backs have key plays highlighting thier careers but barry had key highlights every single game 0.o

  • I think Barry Sanders has the record for most dodged ta
