if i'm ever in a bad mood, this song just makes me feel better. i don't know how, but it just works, it's like musical zoloft/prozac. i think i've figured out the song i want people i know to listen to at my funeral. lol
Seen him in London 1983/4 at the Hammersmith Palais he was remarkable and there are no seats so you at least have to tap your feet it was brilliant and a last minute decision, one of the good uns I've made ha ha
Saw him in Towson State MD and then Baltimore, MD the following week. Was in third row in Towson . I told him while he was on stage he was brilliant. He was amazed the term was used by an American. He wore a suit and tie and was cool as heck!
he's remembered for his MTV good looks and that vapid girl band, but I heard of him was cause Lowell played/produced for him, and he did GREAT Little Feat covers. I got to see him in 1975
Young Bob was an R&B singer, one of the GREATEST vocalists I ever saw -- my favorite (to this day) song of his is the Allen Toussaint/Lee Dorcey song "Sneekin' Sally Through the Alley". the man improvises and skat sings in a class with Ella Fitzgerald and Van Morrison.
Just love Robert's version, been listening to Sneakin Sally through the Alley in my car today, God what an amazing singer he was. Listen to "Blackmail" and "How Much Fun" and you realise how fantastic he was. Much missed matey, you and Lowell must be having a great jam now!
I saw Palmer when Sneakin' Sally first came out as an opening act for someone at the Roxy in LA. I was stunned! An act I had never heard of just blew the entire audience away. It was brilliant. I'd love to see some footage from that era also....
This song makes me stand up and dance! Even now that I have to go to sleep!

I feel the Toots and the Maytals version is the best. This version is a touch too slow I feel. Excellent mood song though.

Mute this, watch the vid, and listen to Toots sing the song. It's really quite easy.

Good version, Toots is better, but I prefer the Clash version (probably because it was the first one I heard).
Has anyone out there got it on video?
