  • i hope she gets to the olympics! would be a good start for gb :L i also agree about money, altho i have three horses and have three others to ride/jump i cant afford to go out to show's all the time, i would love to be in her possition because i was told by the whitakers i was promising. just wish santa would bring me a rich daddy <3<3

  • i would love to watch her on television at next summer

  • I really hope she makes it! She seems like an amazing girl who loves horseback riding and her horse.

  • And backed very late, and whenever you get o. Him, whoever you are, he will rodeo and he managed to get me through his format legs and broke my collar bone and clipped me in the face with his hoof, but now I am seriously feeling. More positive about his bucks :)

  • Before watching this (no kidding) I was actually a bit freaked out to get on my pony, joey. He is 8 but

  • Omg i luv the bay horse!! Soo pretty =)

  • Hahah. I absolutely love when people who think there smart critizize riders like these. A- half of you probably have never ridden a horse and B- shes going to the olympics. So, im guessing she knows a lot more about riding then you, so just keep your comments to yourself. :)

  • This gives me a bit of hope because I started riding when I was eight and am planning on eventing :D

    love this video !

  • i love it how she just says everything positivley, i got bucked off well good experience, she looks to the bright side, takes everything as it comes, and she is just lucky to be a hopeful to say the least

  • Deff Looks like Her and Her Horse will be in the 2012 Olympics!!!!!! CAnt wait to Watch them!!!!

  • Nice.. im very beginner and im 27 :( i wish if i had a family that cares about my interests but I will keep practcing until I reach what I want.. slow improvement as I take only one lesson a week but i hope in the summer I can do at least 3 a week.

well done video and the best luck to all of you horse lovers ;)

  • u aint gt a chance of olympics with tat size jump

  • @hotsexygirlhere it's 2012 shes going and it was 2008 then when they put up the video. I think she has/have/can jump higher on her horse or other horses.

  • @hotsexygirlhere LOL biggest idiot on youtube alert, Shes schooling that horse as you would do on a day to day basis, I doubt shes even planning on taking that particuler horse.

  • @hotsexygirlhere stop chatting rubbish...she won hickstead ffs :L

  • @hotsexygirlhere

Hey retard, if you did not notice she was schooling the horse. Someone does not know a thing about riding

  • Well I wish her lucK!!!

Gorgeous horse!! *ahh dies* he is so pretty

  • but many are given opporitunities...i hate when people say..well YOUR not jumping grad prix..well..i would be if i had millions like brianne gutal..she just has nice horses..but i have a 4,000 horse that's doing 1.30 and 1.35 so.

  • luckily, equestrian sports allow us to compete into an older age (60+) so everyones got time to realize theyre dreams. plus, time and patience is the most important variable in building good horsemanship, not money! :) trust me, ive seen enough wealthy riders expressing their frustration and lack of skill by yanking on their horse and whipping to kno that money doesnt equal horsemanship.

  • unless you have money you won't get anywhere in showjumping, its as simple as that unfortunately. Its the people competing at the lower levels at the BSJA that pay for the big shows. BSJA is a ripoff.

  • I don't have alot of money and i'm going grand prix next month....

  • i agree about the money but the way i see it, it would be lovely if we could all afford to get the best horses, the best tuition, the best gear etc...but I remember when i started riding all i wanted was a pony or a horse......that's all....that was my dream. Had to wait till i was 18 to buy my own horse. I own two now (and it costs me a lot!) but i sacrifice shopping and hol's for my horses. In my eyes, if you love horses and you actually have your own, you have reached the top, haven't you?

  • She is a good rider, and she is so lucky to have dedicated parents to like drive her everywhere when she was younger and buy her ponies! I don't care what anyone says but at the end of the day most horse sports are down to how much money you have, not just 'dedication'! I'm like 100% dedicated but my horse will only go to a certain level, and we can't afford a scopey horse or to go to competitions every week! To register with the BSJA is like a fortune, let alone petrol and entry fees...

  • my parents are extremly dedicated but we just dont have the money anymore! its like, we have to save up for breastplates and oots 4 the horses and we dont get anything special...

  • I don't think I've ever seen anyone bridle a horse before they saddle up. Must be a UK thing....

  • i always bridel my horse before as most of our horses have martingales, breastplates or just because thats what i do.

  • That's strange... I use a running martingale and sometimes a breastcollar, but I always saddle up first. My trainer makes us warm up our horses with out any training aids and then only use the martingales when we need them.

  • oh, no i always warm up but we dont use the gadgets as much as people.... we just use them if we need them, like alot of people just add bits to look cool but only use them if you need thewm!

  • I dont think so I have always bridel my horse before I saddle up an I have been doing that for 11 years now

  • agreed-? i'm in the US and have never seen anyone bridle first.

I suppose it really doesn't make any difference one way or the other, but it's interesting to note the little differences between countries.

  • Umm....I know some puissance records are 7 and a half feet....8 is a bit much.

  • I wonder if she realizes the 4ft jump ISN'T what the Olympic team wants. More like 6-8ft.

  • Of course she does, she was schooling her horse. You dont jump a horse 6ft all the time. And Ive never seen an 8ft jump on a course...Ever.

  • 8ft are you crazzy that is not in olympia at all.

  • Umm, yeah she can jump 7 or 8 feet. She was just riding her horse 4 fun in this video! Shes not gonna jump her horse 7 feet everyday!

  • 8 feet wow, she must have set a new record.

Maybe a tad exageratted? :P Sorry, can't spell

  • Comment removed

  • They jump that at puissances though.

  • how old is she?

  • Comment removed

  • amazing i really wish to go further with showjumping

  • "dedicatio is all you need."

yeah and shitloads of money tbh.

but yeah good luck to her x

  • lol.. true true. its like, i know alot of ppl who have been on the brittish junior team and what not and guess what... they are all rich! lol... i mean not full-of-myself here but if i was rich and had an amazing jumper (not that i dont coz my horse is a sex god!) i would be up there..... lol... because... i am... a good little rider.. im NOT aragant... ok?

  • i agree with you!

horses now is all about money!

it's not fair for those good little riders out there who won't be given a second glance 'cause they don't have an amazing showjumper!

  • thankyou.... :)

  • i agree with you ! because im trying to get to the top at te momet and i dont have the momney for an amazing showjumper s im looking for a younger one that i will bring on a bit and work my way up the rankings !, im hoping to compete at HOYs before im 18, x

  • Your horse is a sex god? Hm, must be an interesting ride. XD

  • lol... not like that! hes gorgeous! but yeah, hes.... different! XD

  • Lol, I just thought your comment was so funny. XP

  • lol... XD

  • unfortunately, yes.

Money doesn't buy talent or hard work or dedication, so I'll give her that.

But to "be the best" you do need horses (expensive), trainers (more expensive), money for trailering and show entry and decent tack, the list goes on and on.

I'm scraping by just to afford one small horse at a cheap boarding barn. Would love to have money for shows and lessons and all that , but....

    such is life?

  • that is so true. my friend boards her horse at the best jumping stable in town, where she schools up to 4ft. the board is $1500 a month, not counting lessons, her nice tack, boots, and trailering to shows. i'm not hating on her, both her parents are lawyers and shes an only child :P

and her horse in an holsteiner imported from germany :P he also cost $40,000 not couting how much it cost to ship him over

  • Yes it is expensive to own and ride horses, even to make it to the top.

My family and I don't have alot of money, we go to shows using the money we won from previous shows.

We bought a cheap, young pony with "lack of talent" and 3 years later we are doing grand prix next month so no, you don't need good money to get a decent pony/horse and trainers.

  • @Sniffysmyboy sorry i was reading your comment and i just HAD 2 agree with u. i no so many people who started with a "dogger" horse and have made it to all the HUGE shows. I dont think that u need a lot of money, yes some money would help, but time, heart, patience and a kind trainer will get u a lot further in the long run then just plain money bc theres 1 thing money can't buy is riding talent and love, something horses crave.

i wish u well Sniffysmyboy. I absolutly LOVE ur horse. Hes AMAZING

  • But it's true that some people do make it to the top without deep wallets. Michelle Gibson and Courtney King are two US dressage examples. Neither came from wealthy backgrounds. They paid their dues with many years of being a working student for good trainers, earning little to nothing. The downside is that their mounts could be taken from them at any moment because they did not own them (Michelle Gibson was told she was losing the ride on her horse the night before her Olympic freestyle.)

  • Good for her :D shes aiming high and is soo good :) i wanna be a showjumper...im just not that good yet! lol :S

  • Jumperchick 2012 3 years away you nob shes a good rider aswell (Y) Goodluck too her

  • the more power to her with going for the olympics, her flat work is really nice and her horse is amazing, but you can tell when she's jumping to the cross rail, the horse got a bit quick and popped her head up after the fence. to win the olympics, you need rhythm. but the girl can ride.

  • love she won hickstead last year thehorse is more then capable!

  • @rebeccagabb1 WRONG she wont be taking that horse she''ll more then likely take paulien the horse she won at hickstead on.

  • i live in feance and im hoping to get to a good level with my new horse D whome i just got

  • GOOD LUCK!!!! I hope to be in the Olympic horse jumping one day. I hope you get 1st place, and I will watch the Olympics and look for you!!!!!! :0)

  • love ya lottes good luck to you and Cutie.... bring home the gold hahah :)

  • i wish you all the best good to see you getting on love to all tina x

  • Good luck to her! I would rather see a horsewoman like Charlotte going for the Olympics than that stupid bimbo Jordan. This sport needs promotion from more people like her, not because our sport boasts the largest pair of tits in the game.

All the haters of Charlotte are just jealous of her riding capability and her chance to shine in 2012.

  • Napoleon & Platt for the gold!

  • Comment removed

  • Did we need that?...

I hope she does really well, lovely horse!

  • she will be 19 by then anyway

  • Sorry Jumperchick7, but I disagree with your comments completely.

I wholeheartedly wish Charlotte Platt the very best of luck in what she's trying to achieve and I think that everyone deserves a fair chance in life :)

  • LMAO! This is a joke right? She's like 16 years old...And and and and and and...lol

  • Comment removed

  • so? Does her age really matter? or maybe your just angry because shes a better rider than you and also younger than u

  • Haha I'm not jealous in the least of her jumping crossrails and poor grammar. This vid is a fluke.

  • Haha well then lets see how you can ride!

  • some rules for you

1if you can out ride her you can say the things you wont till then shut the heck up

2you shouldn't talk meanly about the person who saved england in the super league

3you shouldn't talk about olympic hopes for your country its like say your country sucks

4you shouldn't talk meanly about people who have a fan club in american england

5you shouldn't talk meanly about her if you don't know her because she a nice person/great rider/she work her butt off for this spot of years

  • pretty horse! good luck with everything!

  • i love her horse !
