  • Great song and impeccable playing on your part. Your attention to tone is impressive as well - thanks for posting this.

  • @Chagsis Thanks so much for your very kind words!

  • I recently ordered the Aquarelle sheet music on the web. Can't wait for it to get here!

  • Very good and smooth play:) and You are so handsome too!!! Perfect man:))))

  • does anyone know Valseana 's story? I heard it was from a water color , doese anyone know the painting and the painter ?please ,tell me , thanks ~

    I love Valseana .

  • Thanks. You play very heartfeltly this remarkable piece.

  • it most certainly should. when i upload some videos of me playing (in the near future) i should welcome any comments you have about my playing.

  • that is one very nice guitar. robust sound, very even along the range, and clear as a drop of rain. a joy to listen to.

  • Thanks, Nick. Reminds me of a story a teacher of mine used to tell about the great Jascha Heifetz: An audience member came up to Heifetz after a concert and said, "Mr. Heifetz, your violin sounds amazing." Heifetz held his violin up to his ear and said, "Funny, I don't hear anything." :-)

  • classic! hahaha good call eh. im playing on australian made guitar (b. rosewood and cedar) but still i cant get as good a sound as that..

  • Who's the maker? My duet partner used to play a Graham Caldersmith...nice, and loud!

  • the maker is Lawrence K Smith from NSW. yes this guitar is rather loud as well, very great dynamic control. im actually borrowing the guitar at the moment, im a guitar student at university and good guitars dont come cheap!

  • No, they don't. I know, I went through college with a cheap Takamine. Ricardo Cobo was in the same dept. and came up to me after my first masterclass performance to ask what kind of guitar I was playing! My teacher back then also used to say, "it's the Indian, not the arrow."

Best of luck with your studies. Never stop working on your tone. Barrueco used to say that each note should be like a star in the sky, or a diamond --clear and beautiful!

  • Just beautiful! I assume you know Bellinati's music and Almeida? If not, check out the latter's Mystified. I just happened upon your music, hunting for the Ponce Preludio which I've begun learning. Again, really nice playing!

  • Thanks! I play Bellinati's "Pau de Chuva". I should get some more of his music. I haven't played any Almeida, but have always liked his playing, though.

  • what microphones are you using, this is awesome!

  • Thanks. I used a Sony ECM-MS907 plugged into the camcorder. Straight, no effects...

  • Thanks! came out wonderful!

  • I think your performance of this piece is great. I've been working on it, and enjoy watching your video as a learning tool. You play it well. (I was signed on as BMAN2415 last time) This is my actual screenname..Scott

  • Thanks, Scott. For a masterclass on this piece (imho), listen to Ricardo Cobo's recording on his "Guitar Lullaby" CD. Incredible tone, and a truly dynamic performance.

  • Thank you for the tip. I will give it a listen. Take care...

  • It's such a beautiful song...and you play it so well. I've been playing classical guitar for 30 years now, and still finding great music to play...this one is next on my list! great job! Scott

  • Thanks, Scott. I know what you mean, there's always a new piece on the horizon!

  • La tocas muy bien! y suena con personalidad, que guitarra usas ? me gusta el sonido que le sacas.

    Saludos!

  • Awesome. Nice to see you here.. I have all your soundclick mp3s at work and listen to them all the time. I love how you play the Ponce preambulo especially.

  • Thanks very much! I'm glad to hear you're enjoying those mp3s. That Ponce has long been a favorite of mine. I'm lucky the recording came out halfway decent! :)

  • beautiful piece, beautiful guitar, beautiful playing. can i know where to find the score/tabs for this song?

  • Thanks! The piece is published as part of a suite, "Aquarelle". You should be able to order it online from any website that sells guitar music, e.g., Guitar Solo or Guitar Gallery in the U.S., or Guitarnotes in England.

  • A beautiful-sounding guitar, and fine playing!
