There's no doubt that the acting was excellent in this movie. The Chemistry between Will and Skylar is obvious. In this particular scene, Skylar should have used the approach Sean did. After Skylar professed her love for Will, she should have waited for his response. By her saying "Will?", she spoke first and allowed Will an out. He who speaks first loses. When she said "I love you", there was pressure on Will to say what he felt. She let him off the hook.

0:17, 0:34... watching how choked up she gets as she goes out on a limb like that is one of the most powerful things depicted between these two characters. It must have helped that she was actually in love with him. To pack that much emotion into a simple "gulp" is a damn strong gesture .

Look it up, women file 70-80% of divorces. Women reject men more than men reject women, and end more relationships too. These are very consistent findings, with the biological root of women being more picky, because they have less eggs than men have sperm. Women's attraction doesn't appear as easily, and also disappears easier than men's. For example, I can predict that 50% of the time, if you are born a poor class you will stay in a poor class, and that there is a 99% chance that those born in a family of lowest 20% income will not be in the top 5% income. These are just statistics found from data. No understand is necessary.
