  • Was that Stacy clothed? Never envisaged her with her cloths on before.Such a beautiful experience in 1978 Glastonbury, when we Hengeites crossed England to enter in to "The Glastonburyu Festival", And there she was at 4 AM in the morning. The crowd must have been at least seven strong at its peak. But the preformance held us there and then Stacy walked on, or danced on. Nik Turner was to the left of her as she became the miracle of the day. So this is what happens at a Glastonbury Event yeh!

  • Hawklords version is close to original

  • The original '72 Space Ritual version is better, even though the guitar work and general musicianship here is good, including Nik Turner's freeform jazz breaks. The original version was bluesier and far more about the groove (and the interplay between Lemmy and Brock), this one is less focused. Not bad though.

  • By now Stacia would have her tits out lol

  • This is a disgrace to the entire Hawkwind legacy. A cheap piece of shit girlie show!? Hear the real deal on Hawkwind's Space Ritual Album. Somebody remove this garbage.

  • Apart form Lemmy and Dave Brock this is virtually the same line up as on the Space Ritual Tour.

I saw Hawkwind on the Space Ritual Tour back in the 70s. They had Stacia dancing with them as well as a mime artist.

    This video is staying put.

  • total & utter blasphemy. i saw Nik playing with Del Dettmar, Helios Creed & Pressurehead & got to meet & hang out w/ Nik & Helios. Helios & i are friends. i'm not friends with Nik, but he forever rules!!!

  • @LeggettAVC Yea and Stacia used to strip right off on stage so what's the difference apart from Stacia was better in all departments and this one's kept her clothes on so which one was really the so called"cheap piece of shit girlie show?" huh? Get real.

  • steveco, the footage on the 30th annaversery cd dvd is not from the space ritual gig but the promo film that acompandnid the released off the silver machine and urban g singles

  • Thanks Hawklord. Was any part of the Hawkwind Space Ritual actually filmed?

  • Where is field marshal slug ???

  • music the best

  • Nik Turner has appeared on Rockworld TV on satellite. If you can pick it up in Spain it's been repeated a few times and may be on again soon.

  • Interesting dancing!!! My granny could walk round a chair and kick her legs in the air when she was doing the hokey cokey. She seems to be doing strip type dancing without actually stripping.

    Not a patch on Stacia.

Last saw Hawkwind at reading Festival in 75.

I hope to see Space Ritual at the Cheese and Grain, Frome in October. Should be a great night.

  • I preferred Miss Debbie, she was yummy!

  • Saw the All-Stars some years ago @ the Salisbury Arts Centre - good fun but not a patch on the Hawks, tho...

  • one of my fav hawkwind songs not the best rendition sadly ,a clip of the original space ritual album version would be great

  • Actually I saw a copy of Hawkwind's Space Ritual CD - Special Edition a few days ago. Comes with a DVD containing some footage of that show.

  • Steve,

I'D LOVE to see actual footage of

    THE Space Ritual Show.

I've looked and haven't seen this version of CD/DVD...

tho I have the original CD release

(original 1973 release album as well)

    Stay in touch

    Signed

A Long Time loyal HW fan

  • I recently discovered that the DVD doesn't contain any footage of the concert but is instead a version of the Space Ritual video effects shown during the concert on the screen behind the band. Which if I remember right - were things light images of pyramids, stonehenge, spinning spirals etc.

  • Hmmm! Still sounds interesting considering the lightshow/projections used were awesome. I've met many people who've seen Hawkwind many times thru the years. Invariably, all say the same thing, "The Space Ritual was the greatest show of all time. Period." I'll keep an eye open for the new version. I'd love it if you could (if possible) post some of the visuals just to get a taste. Thanks for the reply Have a super Holiday, Stay in touch! Dex
  • Sorry. The visuals are in my memories from Newcastle City Hall many years ago. And I don't have the DVD (yet). But maybe someone out there?

  • hawkwind played this on wed night it was space rock at its best

  • Nik's sax playing has improved, now that he's not totally wasted!

  • Well said!

  • I've got a hawkwind tattoo on my right arm it's got a hawk swooping down and hawkwind written across the wing tips. I've seen space ritual at newcastle and they were brill.

  • Dave Anderson, bass guitarist on 'In Search of Space' left Space Ritual a few months ago.

  • Actually Space Ritual is mostly made up of original Hawkwind members. It's just that Dave Brock owns the rights to the name.

  • Let's be grateful for small mercies! Though this is isn't bad. Who is the, err dancer?

  • All I know is she goes by the name of Angel. She does look a bit like Tara Palmer Tomkinson...

  • That made me laugh, thanks for getting back to me.

  • I love this song, but hte original Hawkwind is better.
