The point is that you give the plant nutrients such as calcium to the plant through the stomata on the leaves. Apparently calcium can be difficult for roots to absorb. The best time to do it would be when the lights are going off for the night, reason is that the stomata are open fully and they will get the nutrients and throughout night the stomata close keeping the nutrients in. if you spray it when there closed not much of it will go in.
