@xDeAdLySmErFiNgx Jacket is called "Romero" and is made by Triumph. Maybe from the 2007 model year? I loved that jacket. One thing that was nice about it was it was not black, so summer was not dreadfully hot.
@sooupdragon I do not remember what was the suggested mileage for chain adjustment. I believe I never adjusted it during my owner ship and put on about 2000 miles. I probably should have adjusted it but it was fine when I got the bike and fine when I sold it.
@Thrux900Gazette The riding position depends on the year you get. The first couple of years have clip-on handle bars thus causing a more leaned over riding position. It definitely is not very comfortable. Also, there is not much support by grabbing with your inner thighs due to the thank being skinny. Some people have no problems with it but my body would get pretty tired at about 2 hours of riding.
Nice ride... 2007 Thrux with Predators... >100 mph... coming soon...needs high inspired film maker.. Here in Finlad we have max 75 mph speed limit :) TonUp

This is such a great video when the weather is too awful for me to ride my 2008 Thruxton. Do you get rid of the airbox? My airbox boots are cracked and I wanted to get rid of the bulky, restrictive factory box and go with K&N pods. My bike has the LSL clip-on eliminators and it turned my 50 mile days into 300 mile a day rides, except for I only seem to get 100 miles per tank full.
@51Yeti Yes, airbox was removed and I went with Uni pod filters which I think look better than the K&N's and are less expensive. I wanted to create my own fiberglass side covers so the filters were exposed but had sold the bike before that happened. The increase in performance was definitely worth the work. I'm glad you enjoy the video.
@dudetubez It is TOTALLY worth the work/money!!!! The Uni filters were like $30 if I remember correctly and the jets of course inexpensive (I'm assuming you have exhaust already). Cutting apart the airbox was not bad. It's been awhile but I think I had it done in a few hours. Very noticeable increase in power. It is worth it just for the change in the sound. But... warning... yes the bike will feel quicker for a little while, but then you'll get used to it and probably want even more power
@stavroselpida Yes, mirrors without the weights. Some vibration but not bad at all. For some reason the same bar ends put on my Speed Triple vibrated real bad.
Nice bike! Did you take off the barend weights in order to put the mirrors on? I am asking cause I order the same ones for my bike and i m about to install them
In the video it looks like you raised you forks up through the triple clamp about an inch or so. Did you put shorter springs on the rear? Did you like the bike better lowered a little if I am seeing that correctly?
@jnchampion Actually I loosened the triple trees and lowered the front end of the bike. Kind of messes with the geometry and made the bike a little more sensitive I guess and looked a little better in my opinion. Would I recommend doing it... I'm not sure.
I'm thinking about buyin the thruxton this summer. would you consider this a fast bike? I mean, i know it's not a crotch rocket.. but is it torqy enough to pass cars at high mph?
@FckinGuy With the mods that this bike had it felt pretty strong up until about 85ish mph. Very easy to pass cars on the freeway but still for me did leave much to be desired in acceleration (and handling and braking). Torque curve is pretty nice, but the bike does lose some steam in its final gear. My buddies 636 spoiled me in the performance dept. so I bought a Speed Triple which then spoiled him and he found out what the word torque meant.
@OldSkoolFool240Z thanks for getting back. alright then, i'll just have to test it out. i love the style of the bike, but performance has to be there too (to an extent).
Well, I just ordered my B.C. Predators a couple of days ago!!!! I can't wait till I get them on! Thanks for the video man. It helped me decide on the Preds.
@vela75 Congrats on the purchase, you won't regret it! They are extremely high quality pipes that in my opinion look the best (maybe besides side pipes) and have the best sound. Enjoy!
Really loved this video! I am wanting to set some predators for my Bonnie. I know they are much louder than stock, but do you think my wife and I can carry on a conversation while crusing, or they so loud at all times that you can't hear anything? I want them to be louder, but not obnoxiously louder.
It probably would be difficult to have a conversation while cruising at 50 mph-ish but I think that would be difficult anyway if both people have helmets on.
I would say it is a forgiving bike. You can easily tell when you are reaching its limits. It was my first motorcycle and prior I had very limited experience on a few 100cc dirt bikes. So it was a little intimidating the first ride on the Thrux but not long after that it became pretty easy to ride.
The red with the white stripe is beautiful. The riding position with the clip on bars did not help my back out any and it would be tough for me to put on more than 100 miles in a day. The '08 or '09 came with a more raised up bar which should help the riding position. The handling is alright. Feels somewhat sporty but pales in comparison to the Speed Triple I had.
To cut the wind noise, put a piece of foam, or something similar, over the microphone. I should've taken a picture of how the camera was mounted because it did look pretty ridiculous.
I went to the dealer last week to look at one of the '09's that I'm thinking of buying. I'm not a fan of the gold stripe (i prefer the silver) but regardless, I'm 5'8" and it felt perfectly comfortable.
Those pipes sound great. But how LOUD are they? I have an '05 Thrux and I was thinking about buying the Predators - I just don't want to be THAT guy with the really really loud bike. I love that sound at idle though.
I know what you mean. These pipes are no way nearly as loud as most of the Harleys around. To me they are just right, not too loud to be annoying and not too quite to where it doesn't sound the greatest or can't hear it when riding.
man i can't make up my mind... I've fallen for the Speedmaster... but the Thruxton and Bonneville are also very appealling.. and to make matters worst, the RocketIII is also quite extraordinary... what to do what to do!!...
For long trips, the Speedmaster and Rocket III will be more comfortable. Thruxton I think has the best look and is the most "sporty". Bonnie is just classic. All of them are great choices.
I have a 06' t100 and am thinking about getting the predators on mine. Would you know if the sound is that much different or is it for the mostpart going to be the same?
This may be a dumb question, but, i'm thinking of getting a bike this coming spring, bonne or thruxton, maybe steet triple. I;m also looking at some ducatis. My fiance is all for it, if it has two seats. My question is, is it possible to ride double on the thrux? or should i just get a bonne?
You can ride 2 up on a Thrux, the cowl on the back part of the seat comes off with two allen bolts. The seat is only slightly different than a Bonnie but the riding position is more leaned over than a Bonnie. If you're looking for 2 up comfort, none of the bikes you're looking at would be great but should be sufficient for non-long rides.
Don't run from an H-D because of bias. Ride what is right for you and screw everyone else! The Nightster is a cool ride and comfy! Better for two riders...But, all that said, a Thruxton will steal your heart!
I own a 2008 America and will be putting some Specialty Spares on it. I've owned several bikes from Japan, but this is my first Brit bike. I'm in love! Thanks for posting this video. Gave me an idea for mounting a vidcam on my bike for my next ride.
You'll be happy with that decision. I rode a few times with a fell that had D&D's, which sounded nice, almost kinda raspy though. The Predators sounded sooo much nicer, throaty, and deeper.
Okay - it sounds pretty good, although I prefer the sound and performance of Triumph's alternative higher performance mufflers. It was VERY, VERY cool that you actually used your turning signal. You are definitely a smart guy. Lastly, I could have done without the crotch grab after the first use of the turning signal... hehe, hehe... Cool video.
I actually half ass rigged something up. Bolted the camera to a board and bungie net'd and strapped the board down to the back seat. The board was probably almost 3ft long. Worked great though.
*MAX* torque for a Bonnie is 44 ft-lbs, my ZRX is around 80 ft-lbs and it isn't nearly as powerful as some. Would you like to amend your statement, or are you going to let your ignorance stand?
I love Thruxtons, and I'd own one in a heartbeat if I had the money for two bikes...what precipitated my comment was Bunny mouthing off about "Jap" bikes, which is wrong on more than one level.
Great video. I have a 2008 Thruxton "Aluminum color" on order and it will be here Feb 5th...can't wait to pick it up. I am having the Triumph TOR pipes put on by the dealer.
What gets me isn't the bike (well...) as much as the environment. Early spring, still some patches of snow but sunny and dry roads. And you get the bike out... Man, I cant wait...
My wife is going to kill you for making this video, as I have a feeling it's going to lead to a Thruxton in my garage in the near future. Thanks and enjoy that beauty!
such a beautiful bike, I'm hoping to get one next year, also where did you get that jacket from?? its a really nice color.

I actually half ass rigged something up. Bolted the camera to a board and bungie net'd and strapped the board down to the back seat. The board was probably almost 3ft long. Worked great though.

This comment has received too many negative votes show

Yep, I was right. As of Jan 21 there's a black and white 2007 in my garage. Please send Spring ASAP!

Did you completely remove air box and replace with K and M pod filters? Did you block off the secondary air injection system with bolts?
Apart from re-jetting carbs, have you had any other mods eg ignition system?
Sounds good!Any advise would be appreciated!!
Thanks

what do you mean with jetted?
thanks

Had to increase the jet sizes in the carburetors. Basically allows more fuel through the carb.
