honestly BOTH of the games mvc2 and 3 are broken but thats why we love them. Id have to say that the execution in 3 makes it that more broken, it is TOO easy. BUT marvel 2 was a much more balanced game in comparison to this game. Health in 3 is too low, infinite's in 2, XFactor in 3, gaurd breaks in 2, double snaps in 2, assists have lower health in 3, execution in 2 takes longer but im ROMing on pad as well as iron man unfly infinites so does it really matter? i can execute in both perfectly.

However I do agree about how easy the game is. There was 100% combos being made before the game was even released. It took Marvel 2 about five years to get to the way how it was with Storm Sent Mags running shit with 100% combos and DHCs and resets. Even Jwong complains about the game and he wins tourney's.
i knew this would happen.. mvc2 vets complaining about mvc3 because now, instead of only a few characters being able to do infinites/100% combos, everyone can. he even says in a complaining way "anybody can do it now!" 1:18
So why is SALTford Kelly crying? Anyone can take time to learn an infinite in MvC2, hell, I suck at the game and learned Iron Man and Magneto infinites. Who really sucks, the guy who can't adapt to the new game, or the guys who are going with the flow. X-Factor is in the game, how is that bullshit? Both people have X-Factor, thus reducing the supposed overpoweredness of it. Maybe he should just give up and realize that A NEW CHALLENGER APPROACHES.
From a game design stand point, especially in retrospect, MvC3 is a better game compared to MvC2. That's the only comparison that should really be made.
But heck, would more than half the people here be even talking about Marvel vs Capcom if not for the release of MvC3? I'm really, really enjoying MvC3. Brutal honesty demands that I admit it is a very scrub-friendly game, though. There is a lot to learn, but most execution of techniques are simple and X factor allows for some wacky comebacks. It is still fun to play, regardless.
I understand his views about new school gamers, but for companies, it's about knowing your target market, oh yeah, and making money, lolz.
Example: if ten people are willing to buy my rap album, two are old school, the rest, eight, are new school people. In theory, wouldn't I make more money if my album targeted the new school people? Eight people buying something for twelve dollars is more than two people buying it, lolz.

I agree parts of this game are broken but look at the crowd that's coming in with the new generation of fighting games. If you're really that godlike you can still beat the average player, they aren't the only ones with xfactor and all that other shit. In the old games when execution was hard the scene was dead compared to how popular it is now. MvC3 and SSF4 are still games that take skill to be good at so the best players will come out on top, the added crowd of players is just a benefit imo.

So why is SALTford Kelly crying? Anyone can take time to learn an infinite in MvC2, hell, I suck at the game and learned Iron Man and Magneto infinites. Who really sucks, the guy who can't adapt to the new game, or the guys who are going with the flow. X-Factor is in the game, how is that bullshit? Both people have X-Factor, thus reducing the supposed overpoweredness of it. Maybe he should just give up and realize that A NEW CHALLENGER APPROACHES.

From a game design stand point, especially in retrospect, MvC3 is a better game compared to MvC2. That's the only comparison that should really be made.
But heck, would more than half the people here be even talking about Marvel vs Capcom if not for the release of MvC3? The majority of people here are comparing a game they never played seriously (Just trying to sound pro and all veteran like). Point being, Marvel 3 isn't as bad as people make it seem, despite being the most rage inducing game.

@Kloo I agree that Marvel 3 is not a BAD game. The game is fun. But no the game is not better than Marvel 2 in game design standpoint. From a business standpoint the game is better becuase its more friendly to casual players.

Obviously Marvel 3, no one would even touch 2. The only reason why one would say Marvel 2 is better than its predecessor is because they had history with it. They're good at it. Completely Bias. @Kloo The only reason why i say marvel 2 is better is because the game is harder to play. And those 5 or 7 characters were'nt running shit until about 5 years or so after the game was released. Its not like the game was released and everybody just said okay sent storm and magnus all day lol. Back when the game was first release the only top tier character that actually stayed top tier was Cable. They had Iceman and Juggernaut, and cammy as top tier when it was first listed.

Lol its so true, i can do easy air combos like its nothing in Marvel 3, but the second i try Marvel 2...omg its so much harder. You just have more appreciation for these old games once you just look beneath the surface. You don't even have to look too deep in some cases. You can just tell.

I don't even play this game but I can relate. Two was difficult. Three is scrub friendly. The same thing happened to Street Fighter between 3rd Strike and 4. (Inb4 trolls) It also happened from Smash Melee to Brawl.
Everyone is making their games too easy to pick up in my opinion. But they make sales still so I can't argue that logic.

@GawdImTom Not trolling. Smash was essentially made to be a party-like game (play with items on and all stages available for your fun and child-like giggling pleasure). It became competitive when people started throwing in rules, which I guess didn't translate properly with Brawl. All Smash became with Brawl was becoming what it originally was meant to be...

I'm really, really enjoying MvC3. Brutal honesty demands that I admit it is a very scrub-friendly game, though. There is a lot to learn, but most execution of techniques are simple and X factor allows for some wacky comebacks. It is still fun to play, regardless.

I understand his views about new school gamers, but for companies, it's about knowing your target market, oh yeah, and making money, lolz.

I agree parts of this game are broken but look at the crowd that's coming in with the new generation of fighting games. If you're really that godlike you can still beat the average player, they aren't the only ones with xfactor and all that other shit. In the old games when execution was hard the scene was dead compared to how popular it is now. MvC3 and SSF4 are still games that take skill to be good at so the best players will come out on top, the added crowd of players is just a benefit imo.

@Shizuma It's still better than broken ass MvC2. I love MvC2, but it's a broke, cheaply made game. There was like 12 used characters & half of those were used for their assists. The characters were thrown in because they were on games using the same engine, shitty music, no arcade endings. MvC3 is a much better made game.

why dont people realize that combos ARENT IMPOSSIBLE IN MVC2. anyone can learn them. its just about who puts the time, work, and dedication into learning the game. yes, technically you can learn how to do a combo and have an easier time winning, but i guarantee youd get bodied by anyone whos been playing more or longer because they know the game better. in this shit anyone can just pick it up and watch good things happen. wheres the time and work being put in? this game is random as fuck.

its nearly impossible to make a comeback in mvc2 and thats how it should have been in this game. if you have one character left, theirs a good chance youll have five bars and x factor and you can come back and beat all three characters your opponent has
