Originally, around :10, a second title would appear- "Brought to you by BRISTOL-MYERS" {they sponsored the series during its first five seasons}- then fade just before Hitch "walked into" his caricature. In syndication, the sponsor I.D. was omitted.
If I had to watch this intro all over again, and had to hear the music all over again, I would STILL do it all over again... I'd do it over again. I'd do it FIFTEEN TIMES over again. If I watched fifteen shows, and all of 'em had silhouettes in them, I would still do it all over again.
Diese Mini-Krimis von Hitchcock könnte ruhig mal wieder im Fernsehen gesendet werden. Wenn ich mich recht erinnere, gab es sowohl deutsche Folgen als auch Folgen im Original mit deutschen Untertiteln.
Heavens to Norman Bates! Love that Alfred Hitchock theme...I'm certainly glad they didn't choose "The Whoopee Cushion Serenade" by Freddie Flatulence & his Five Hot Toots! Though it's a GAS, man! In the words of the immortal Bard, "Hey dude, who cut da cheese?" Too bad Hitch didn't do any sci fi films....he could have done one about astronauts who were also proctologists. They'd be able to find out if there really are rings around Uranus!
I watched this show only once as a kid with my uncle and the episode turned out to be a classic: "Man from the South", with Steve McQueen and Peter Lorre. I've been a fan since.
this tv film historian who knew HITCH can tell you this is one of tvs brightest most memorable intros anywhere anytime on a great beloved revered tv series. he was superb as host, the musc his profile his very presence said it all. look at that PRIFILE and the theme is as haunting and fun as it was in 1955 when i first saw it. its coming out all on dvd. enjoy it folks. Thanks HITCH. TOMK
I really like the intro.I got some memory when my father showed me Hitchcock on his old crapy tv in the 80s. Plus The Simpsons has made a parody on the intro in a Hallowen episode.
