This video's left-leaning trashing of business and efficiency is akin to the ignorant Creationist who trashes "education" and "intellectuals." Both are short-sighted.

The fact is, colleges that fail to adapt, that fail to change to new economic realities, and fail to move beyond the same tweedy rhetoric of the past, will be shutting their doors.

And no, this doesn't mean every class has to have 100 students. It means not wasting donors money, which I bet has gone on here, as elsewhere.

I have friends from Darthmouth and they are placed high in the industry and always look up to the college and its values. It has surely done something good to the future of many aspiring adults. So whatever business model they choose becomes irrelevant if they can do justice to the educational needs of the immidiate society.

The actual career options of a "liberal arts" degree have always been fewer than science, technical or even, yes a vocational degree. Those degrees are REQUIRED by employers. Liberal arts degrees are NOT. Especially now.

Sure, a liberal arts degree has value and half of that value I can get a public library by the way. So is that worth 45,000 dollars a year?

So many non-profits could use this sort of message to show why giving to them is important. I showed it to my wife and she plans to show it around her office.
