Spider was originally coached by Lutz Aynedter and was a member of the Nebelhornets, a group formed by Lutz when he was brought to the US by Gordon Stangland and Vic West who opened a small resort, the Nebelhorn, on Echo Summit near Lake Tahoe. Upon the demise of Nebelhorn Lutz and the Nebelhornets reformed at the Edelweiss further down the hill on Hwy 50. Their new group became the Red Hornets. I showed Spider how to put on his first pair of long thongs.
