@Alicaint Yes, the games load into the flash memory, then when you close the game you can go back into the menu and save the flash memory save file to your R4 or whatever it is you use. At least thats how i remember it, i could be wrong, it could all be automatic without those steps.

The reason for EZ Flash 3 in 1 is because GBA games run natively in the bottom slot anyway, its not emulation, its loading a game into the flash memory then playing it like a regular GBA game... no emulation going on at all.

@Razorhunter9 "The entire people"? Hope youre not speaking for me. I have the EZ 3 in 1, and it cost me something like 12 quid ages ago. If you cant afford that then get a paper round or something. If you really need to run GBA games in an emulator then i suggest VisualBoyAdvance on the PC, lots of filters to make the games look nice and runs full speed (and full screen if you want) on a medium PC.

@Razorhunter9 Because there isn't a Playstation emulator for DS? The DS is not that powerful of a system, even SNES emulation isn't that good. If you want emulation, get a flashcart with its own processor and emulators or a PSP.

Pokémon is the one reason I'd see eople wanting to do this - and if you used an emulator there would be no way to get the Pokemon over to the new games - even with the EZ3in1 its a complete pain in the ass. Stop being so cheap, you are obviously using your R4 ILLEGALLY to play pirated games. Theif.

The reason you need a slot 2 card is because the DS can't access the onboard GBA hardware unless it boots something from slot 2; it's physically inaccessible. There's no emulation involved on slot 2 cards, it's all native.

The only flashcarts that can run a GBA emulator without the expansion pak are

1. Supercard DS TWO

2. iPlayer (but this card can NOT play DS ROMs.

3. EX4i

all other carts will require a Slot 2 solution to run a GBA Emulator.

And it's still is a GBA cartridge, and since the original NDS and NDS Lite still have the GBA hardware, it's obvious that it doesn't use emulation. As for compatibility, it's not emulation either; It's the flashcart's hardware that tries to be compatible with all these games, but they're still played by the GBA's hardware.

No; you need a GBA pass-through, like the EZ Flash 3-in-1. The iPlayer card can play GBA, but it has enhanced hardware that allows it to do so.
