it's illegal to keep skunks in the uk because of having to remove their anal scent glands.I think it makes you wonder when you have to have something removed surgically from an animal in order for it to be deemed okay to keep as a pet... Just a thought.

@Deenis90 Actually, if you get those glands that hold the stinky stuff surgically removed before they're... Uh... I think it's 5 weeks or 5 months old (can't remember which), they make really good pets. Very soft and loyal and lovable. My dad's been thinking about getting one as a pet. :D

We owned a pet skunk when I was a kid and I am here to tell you that skunk was the BEST pet I've EVER HAD!!! Off its leash, I got to freak out some old ladies at a rest stop.

They will follow you like a dog, but they are more independant like a kitty cat. Like I said, the best pet I had the most fun with.

Skunks are awesome! they can be pets ya know. you can have the glands that make the stink surgecly removed and there ya go! they jump around like cats but play tug-o-war like dogs. but theres no rabies prevention shot, so if they bite someone and it gets reported, they'll kill your skunk and test its brain cells for rabies D= and they're illegal in some states, still they make awesome pets!
