If you would watch the damn vid, you can see that the gator has absolutely no interest in the cat, and the spectators know it. The gator wants the chicken. The cat has obviously spent a lot of time at the gator farm and is smarter than you may think. The cat knows the gator will back down, choosing instead to move to a different feeding station. If this were someplace other than the gator farm, the cat would have been lunch. (Unless it was faster than the striking gator).
