Ok for everyone bitching about the film. Please stfu. I first saw this film when it came out and I thought it was one of the best movies made. I'm in the middle of reading the books and I think they are amazing. I love both. The movie darren was just like the book darren in my mind. And the cirque was just how I pictured it.
The destroyed the whole series for me with this movie. Too much teenager bull, too much forced comedy, not going along with the story, just...terrible.

Guys ever check the bonus footage on this movie? They had the script planned out to follow the book closely but then the Jack Off Paul Weitz came into the picture and wanted to change it to be more comical instead of it being so dark and violent so it would attract a "younger crowd" WTF?! He constanty keeps refering to Harry Potter during the interview and seems like he wanted this to be its bastard stepchild . He butchered an amazing story for his last ditch shot at glory

At first I was bothered by it, but now that theyve said that it is loosely based on the books--ill give it a try.I would prefer it if they had of stuck to the books--i mean theyre amazing.
The only thing that botheres me STILL is why they changed debbie to white...
I will be checking it out--although i have to wonder if they will use the ending like the last book--for those who have read you know what I mean--somehow I doubt it though

I read the books a long while ago and I don't really think any of the characters look how I pictured them. Like Mr. Tall and Mr. Crepsley. And especially Steve. I wonder if they'll make the other books into movies as well

It's great that they are making a movie out of this incredible series, but the actors are not as I thought they should of been. Darren should have been 11 yrs old, and Mr. Crepsley seemed like he should have long hair and should be thinner. lol and the little people are so different than i imagined.

The damn book is set in ENGLAND! For that matter it's 3 books not one, and 3 of a big series! I saw Darren Shan talk about this movie, siad he was happy with it, you could see he was lying.

gahh this is like the second time that im commenting on this vid. But jesus they gave this guy a chance to make one of the greatest vampire movies of all time, and they fucking ruin it!!! I mean really i wanna find the director of this movie and kick his ass!!!! I am completely appalled by the fact that they choose to appeal to the younger audiences. but they never seem to realize that most of the people who read the cirque series have probably grown and matured. they should make the movie based on the audience they're getting more attention from.

Fuck this movie!! The books were way better! Darren doesn't ask to become one, he's forced to be a vampire to save steve's life! Also, wasnt the guy who could regrow limbs a man, not a woman. The only thing I liked is that he was playing patapon in his grave, which doesn't make sense since he was fully paraylezed in the book! Just read the books, you'll enjoy them more than this crappy movie
