Ditch the word "probably", it's horrible and comes across as presumptuous. You're stuck and screwed if the person responds, "No I wasn't."
Telling people "You probably" makes them defensive, immediately. It's a weakened form of labeling.
A superior method is to let the person project himself upon you. How?
Saleman: I had my last car 7 years. That car rocked. It had some features I feared losing. So I hemmed, hawed, delayed, even though I needed a new one. How about you?
