Nice 300M! My mom used to have a 2001 300M before she traded it in for a brand new 2004 Nissan Altima. I miss that car so much. I wish I had my license back then because I never got a chance to drive it.
get your ac compressor fixed... 300$ 140 for the part.. the rest is installation. they tend to go on the 99 00 01 300m s. that will give u ur ac back : )
great car, beautiful and reliable. I have his old bro, the eagle vision baged as chrysler vision in europe. I have the 3.5 V6 1993 version with 4spd aut. and 211hp, Im starting to have problems with the tranny since the car won't go reverse after a cold night (need to warmup) I have 73.000 miles on it and I hope it lasts for 180.000!
Umm, this car is extremely reliable. Have had one for 50,000 miles and never fixed anything. ever. not fast enough, though. The engine is awesome, linked to a TERRIBLE and antiquated 4-speed automatic. The engine has serious potential, though - 3.5L, 250 HP 250 lb ft tourqe. Needs diff tranny, tho.
yeah i agree that the transmission need more gears...at least 5...
chrysler is ok until it reachs 100,000miles..after 100k, every parts start to break and need to replace...my transmission had problem when it was 99,972miles...however, i also had a T&C minivan and it never had any problems upto 175K miles. after that, the engine died and i replaced with used engine and used trans that had about 75000miles. and I was able to use it until 275Kmiles...sold it for $3000.00
I drive a 2000 300m and I have clocked the 60 time at about 7.8 seconds several times. Car and Driver's long term test clocked the 1999 300M at 7.8 seconds - so my results are probably accurate. The quarter mile time is more respectable than the 60 time, probably because of the way the car is geared. But 0-60 in 7.8 is still fun. Also, the 300m has a very stable feel at speed, and it's handling on the twisties feels surprisingly good, up until you push the car past around 7/10's of it's limit.
my best time was 7.4sec...believe or not, I smoked jetta 2.0T,bmw 530i,type-s(smoked him on 3rd gear), 2001accord v6, and slightly modified wrx on the highway @ 50mph-110mph...
because the way 300M was geared with 4speed and it has wide gaps between gears. I felt that it took awhile to get upto 6500rpm. starting at 3500rpm w/wheelspin did help the engine to rev up faster.
300M is one of the nice car...i wish it was more reliable too just like scion tC that i have now
I gotta tell you, you must have caught some of those cars off guard... My best friend had the 300M special (now has an A4), and I beat him consistenly with my old 99 Integra GSR from any speed. I know the WRX and Type S (assuming RSX) are faster than I was so that makes your story suspicious.
His car was damn nice though, but you are right it wasn't reliable at all.
hahaha u might be right. I think the drivers on TypeS and WRX didnt know much about their car to race with me...probably thats why I could smoke them..becuz I do know that those cars are fast..those cars deserve better driver ^^
My new tC doesn't have the power like 300M..just like all other non-charger 4cyl. but it's 161hp isnt that slow comparing to 300M.
well when i race i do the auto-stick and leave it in a low gear like 1st or 2nd and you can get a better launch at whatever speed. i also beat a v8 ford sho! : )
Strongly recommend the 300M. Mine does not have the Performance Handling Package and the reward is a very smmoth ride. Interior very comfortable and elegant. Also, the car is heroically overengineered - built to last a long time.
regular chrysler 300m does 0-60 in 7.8-7.9 according to any road test, the faster special sedan is clocked from 7.4 -7.6s. what i dont get about reg. 300m is that its got 250hp/250 tq and its barely any faster than pontiac grand prix whos got 50 less horses and 25 less torque, and weighs only a bit lighter, must be the gear ratios/transmission.
yea, all 300Ms have the 3.5 HO, same motor as in the Prowler...really strong engine. i have a 2000 300M and i had a 2004 Intrepid with the 2.7, the 2.7's 0-60 is about 11 secs if i recall correctly...i remember my ex's '95 Vision with the 3.3 could keep right up with it...
Umm yea could of done without the gay music tbh.

My 300m is sweet, but when the temperature gets below zero, it takes a really long time to warm up. My 01 Grand Marquis is more fun though.
