Maria killing her mother over and over again may mean the feelings she had kept in herself and the truth she didn't wanted to believe. I believe all of Maria's point of view against her mother aren't real, This Rosa we are seeing may be from Maria's emotions that spilled after Rosa destroyed Sakutaro.

The way I see it is like suzumiyacute said below me. There just isn't enough communication in this family. For example, Krauss always wanted to apologize to Eva, but never did thanks to his pride, Rosa was picked on by all of the siblings and always looked for guidance and love. Sad as it is to say, no matter how old you are, if you aren't fulfilled, it'll show. Rosa wanted to raise Maria with the one she loved. Rosa needs guidance, not death. I pity anyone who actually enjoyed this.

I have a feeling that a true resolution to Maria and Rosa's relationship will be presented. I mean, there are three novels left, and we've yet to see Maria and Rosa do much of anything significant after this.

Now that they've taken their backstory as far as it can go, there's nothing to do now but wait patiently for true closure. Until then, this is just one huge loose end that Ryukishi07 won't (or at least shouldn't) leave untied, because he is very good at tying up loose ends.

I can understand the situation that made Rosa a bad person. Everyone in the Ushiromiya family had it hard. But I felt bad for Maria too. Not this may seem sorta psychotic, but I think Rosa sorta had it coming. Child abuse is a terrible thing, and for me, this is a deserving tit for tat.

A child's behaviour will be influenced by their surroundings. Maria has been raised by her mother, who is angry and abusive whenever she (Rosa) is made to look bad by something Rosa herself has done (leaving Maria alone, etc). ..

How is Maria meant to learn to differentiate between being told off for doing nothing wrong, like being left alone, and being told off for making a fuss, or having a tantrum? More to the point, she wants to please her mother, but because Rosa snaps so easily, how is she to know how to make her mother happy at any given time?

If Maria is "wierd" and "annoying", it's Rosa's fault for being abusive and inconsistent, and if that makes her angry, too fecking bad.

Both Maria and Rosa doesn't seem to understand each other. I feel sorry for both of them and I don't blame either one of them. It was just how it turned out to be. It was the way of life. Both have their own reasons to prove themselves right, but both can actually be wrong. Both have the right to hate each other, and yet both don't have the right to treat each other like a bunch of toys to be thrown and pushed around. It all depends on perspective.

What happened in EP 2 (especially, in the ending )& here at EP 4 confuses me about Rosa's true feeling towards Maria...In this EP, she said that she actually never love her daughter & only pretending to be so...but EP 2's ending showed she loves Maria so much to the point to die for her sake.

Well people have a tendency to say things they don't mean in times of high stress, so Rosa might've just lost her mind after getting killed by Maria over and over again. That's my theory.

She wasn't exactly in high stress when she got mad at that man she slept with. She wasn't exactly in high stress whenever Maria said "Uu~".

If anything, she just got crushed in a landslide and that scene with Maria never happened.

Can't wait for Battler to adopt Maria and get her out of that hellish life with Rosa.

Rosa isn't really possesed by the Black witch. Oh well, we don't know yet... The black witch will probably be exposed in ep 5 or further on... But also, there are certain things that point to that Rosa might be the black witch. Although for now we'll just have to wait and see.

The anti-mystery perspective is that Rosa is or was possessed by the black witch. But at the end of ep2 Maria said that both the nice Rosa and mean Rosa is the same person, meaning that a black witch never existed. I think Maria just blames everything on a witch that may or may not exist because when you're a kid and your parents are suddenly angry/abusive to you, you'd rather put the blame on someone other than your parents. For Maria it was the black witch.

But yeah, we'll just have to wait.

But there is one thing that points highly to Rosa being the black witch. You know that (I don't remember who said it unfortunatly -.-'' but I think it was Beato) someone said "Siesta556 was killed by the Black Witch, right? And when Rosa yelled at Maria (Killed Sakutaro) she also destoryed one of Maria's four rabbit statues. And there are four siestas... I think that will be proven in the future :P

The theory that Siesta556 was one of the rabbit statues has been flying around for a while now. But the thing with the black witch could be wordplay. Rosa the black witch could have killed Siesta556, or the black witch who possessed and used Rosa's body as a medium could've killed Siesta556. It all depends on the reader's interpretation.
