YES! THANK YOU SO FREAKIN' MUCH! I just found the book at a bookstore (i just got into sabrina a few years ago- i'm fourteen, sue me) and i was searching all over for the movie on Google! I didn't think it would be HERE (along w/ the complete 3ed season of H2O, and Professor Layton & the Eternal Diva, which i didn't really get... gah! That's not the point!)!!!! THANKS!!!!!!!!
still cant believe that is tara strong the best voice actress in the world. she can pull off soooooooooooooooo many different voices, so well i thought she was really british when i saw the sabrina in rome movie.
@daveross76 That's why actors should be careful before just "doing an accent." I know Tara Strong (Gwen) tends to actually talk to people from the region so she gets whatever accent she's supposed to do right. That way it sounds right to people internationally :P
And AWESOME! They're using Nick Bakay as Salem's voice (instead of that dumb other voice in the first movie)..THIS Salem just sounds like...Salem lol...
No one I know or have heard in Aus speaks with that much of our supposed "slang" in one sentence. I've only ever heard that accent and jargon used in overseas television and movies.
lol i've been where this movie was shot. even sat on the same seats/swam in the same pools etc. this movie is so FAKE compared to how it really is! for one thing there's way more people in certain scenes and way to few in others haha. doesn't mean i don't love this movie though lol
Thanks for putting this up. But I been looking everywhere for a better quality but it all seems to be tvrip everywhere. This is available on VHS but no one seems to have a video rip just a crappy tvrip
no offense no one can hear there own accent. so if you are from a country and try to say you don't sound like that well, 90% of the time you do to people that aren't from where you live. we Americans have accents we just don't hear them cause we are around them all the time. i just love this movie cause its a childhood show and reminds me of good times watching Sabrina movies and tv shows with my mom.
@upbeatandbubbly no there's the 'original' (which doesn't have as many good one liners) and one where she goes to rome which is like this one. the best writers are in the series.
that's f***ed up daisy. lol. I swear the least visited place in oz is the actual capital. if you know ehre that is and you aren't australian then you get a cookie.
wtf? hahahahahhaha i could not stop laughing at the 'australian' accents. we sound absolutely nothing like that and who says "he sounds as mad as a gumtree full of gulahs" ? just for anyone at there i would like to clarify, as someone who has lived in australia my whole life. we do not sound like that and DO NOT speak in any of those ways or use those sayings :L
This is SUCH a cliché Australia, I mean I have NEVER heard anyone here talking like they do and for goodness sake I don't understand him either... and I have lived here my entire life and have never gone overseas!!
It's amusing though... How they make all the guys hot surfers with really broad accents and all the girls bikini chicks.
Also why do we look so dumb? I mean I swear some of those guys have a pea-sized brains... Hot and stupid.
I wish someday they'd make a movie in NORMAL Australia
@TheTardisDreamer hey u guys look better than the irish :L i never heard someone with such a silly and cute accent over here . . . most of them talk like druggies >_> especially in my school :L
@TheTardisDreamer It was the nineties, and it was Sabrina the Teenage Witch. What did you expect? They were never about portraying intelligent teens. Otherwise, they'd never have had a show. Sabrina wouldn't have gotten into all of her ridiculous hijinks, and they wouldn't have made nearly as much money.
@bublay3 Yeah but the stereotyping gets old in about five seconds. We have heaps of things they could make fun of that that are really stupid and funny for us too... This just has the kind of jokes you'd find in a bad elvis movie or something... It might've been slightly more acceptable if they made fun of things we actually say rather than making up terms none of us get...
@tashrenee89 That's pretty much how I feel about every movie that is set in the SouthEastern USA. lol. They always use the most extreme accent possible and generally the person doing the accent isn't even from the area.
if you're going to take something away from this video/page and assume it correlates with australian culture, go for how pretty the barrier reef is and how annoyed we get when people try to stereotype us.
what you should leave behind is how rude some of us have been in the comment section and the terminology. prawns, not shrimps, not lolly water, not too-roo, not steak'n'kidneys. if you want to take the piss, "g'day" is okay in moderation.
Can ANYONE please check out my channel? I do hauls, reviews, OOTD's, room tours, and stuff like that:) If you subscribe and comment I will return the favor(: -Thanks!(:
@narniaslan47 Not usually, I have met and know a lot of people from Australia, family friends and people who have moved to the states, their accent isn't anything like it is portrayed in the movies, not usually anyway, it is a lot softer from my experience and not nearly so pronounced, if you ever talk to someone who is from there you will see what I mean :)
Sabrina's cute English friend is played by an actress from North America.Nobody in London talks like that, except American actresses playing Londoners. And at least you have koalas and kangaroos in Australia. When Americans make films here they use American animals and birds such as skunks, porcupines, cardinals, bobolinks, bluebirds and American robins.
heeyyy some aussies have kangaroos as pets, and it depends on where you live in australia. im on a farm and we see kangaroos everyday and its just a movie. australians make fun of other countries accents, so theyre basically just doing the same thing, over doing it so everyone knows where theyre from, its just part of the industry
why is evryone so stressy over the accent stuff, im british n i dnt write on every american film with a 'british' character in it about the steryotype lol :s
geezuz... I only ever talk like that when I'm being sarcastic... please, could someone kick Jerome in the water and leave him there? I am ashamed to recognise him as an Australian!
...but then, I suppose he has to pay his rent somehow... and if it's pretending that's how we really talk... I guess that's what he has to do... poor bugger.
So cool her friend from Sabrina Goes To Rome is in this movie too. I wish they would do another movie like this one only this time it's Sabrina and Harvey and their married maybe have a couple of kids
I live pretty much where this film was set and we don't talk like that lol well sometimes when travelers come and we trick them into believing about the killer drop bears. Haha
Haha, I have to agree.. I'm Australian and I sound nothing like that. These actors may be Australian, but their just hyperbolising their accents! BIG TIME And I couldn't understand a WORD that guy said! Who talks like that?
Well, since Australians are defending themselves, I may as well point out that the way Gwen talks is NOT representative of how us Londoners talk. She does one of the worst impressions I've ever heard. Also, I know it's unrelated but I hate it when people say 'British accent' - yes, we know what you mean... but there is no such thing. Britain has a vast number of different accents. Continuing to say 'British accent' is ignorant and annoying.
It's so stupid when they make us (Australians) sound like idiots. We don't actually talk like that AND just so everyone knows... i've only seen about 5 koalas and kangaroos in my entire life (21 years) & most of them were at a zoo so if you were wondering they are not everywhere & we dont have them as pets...and we dont talk like that!
@tashrenee89 lol i dunno bout the rest of the country but i work with a guy who recently moved here from australia and he does in fact speak like that, and it's common sense people don't have koalas and kangaroos they are very dangerous animals if not cared for properly, i'm sure i don't have to tell you a kangaroo will kick you with striking force and probably damage your insides to no repair if hit with their full power, not to mention koalas with their intensely strong claws..
@tashrenee89 last one but if australians don't really speak like that why is it the actors in the movie are from australia, IMDB it and look at their backrounds, MANY of the actors in this movie are in fact austrailian. so before you get all in a tizzy do some research.
@xXxXBleedPurpleXxXx Honestly, you can't form an opinion based on 1 Australian guy & some imdb profiles. HA! I don't need to research!! I LIVE HERE!!!!! I've NEVER used any of the phrases in this movie nor do i know anyone who has (unless we're taking the piss out of some other countries portrayals of the aussie slang). Hell, i even looked up Australian slang and i have never used 85% of those words.
@xXxXBleedPurpleXxXx You are so ridiculous! CLEARLY, there are heaps of Australians that have looked at this video and every single one of them are commenting on how stupid they make Australians sound. I'm not going to argue because i know im right and you are ignorant! Hows about you get your ass off the couch and travel
@tashrenee89 jfc dont get your panties all in a twist the fact is a ton of the actors are austrailian, i work with a guy whos australian, and he sounds exactly like the guys that were out fishing, so... again... untwist your fucking panties and watch the damn movie
@tashrenee89 Ha I know, they exaggerate everyone's accent, try being Irish...It's painful when people try to do our accents! You just have to laugh it off though!
@CandyHeart65 I think it must be an American film thing.....anyone from a certain country has this over-the-top accent, I've noticed it in English characters aswell.....no common english person sounds posh.
@tashrenee89 it depends where you are from really.I am from melbourne & i notice that people in melb dont really hve a very strong aussie accent..especially those with a european background & then u get a few with the "wog/muzza"accent(muzza=boys of southern european decent livin in melbourne who have usually never been there & tend to wear trackies & shuffle dance)& then u hear some people with that bogan accent...& in melbourne a kangaroo did make its way into the city in 2008 :P
@tashrenee89 Don't worry about it, American films always portray other countries a bit strangly. I'm English and I can promice you we do not speak like Gwen or Huge Grant, we don't have bad teeth, we don't sit around drinking tea and eating crumpets either. lol
@smergyl I should hope not. Its the same when americans are portrayed its always the loud disturbing people that are shown. never whats really real. It's all stereotyped everywhere. I could bet you a hundred bucks (USD) that if you see a movie, it's never really how people in the diff countries rlly speak.
@smergyl Yeah i no right? People dishonor korean ansesters. Twe Kwon doh is pronounce Tech kwon dough(like bread!) And they say stupid kung fu action like eagle fist! Wtf!
I find it funny though how they portray Brits as all the same when we couldn't be more different, I mean there's Scottish, English, Irish and Welsh and we all have our different accents and traditions but in their films when there is someone from Britain they are always speaking the "Queen's English" lol!
@smergyl Amen to that one. I don't even eat crumpets, I have my usual check up's at the dentist, we don't all eat Muffins, hardly any of us drink tea with our pinky up in fine china (usually a greatest sister mug) and I don't talk like I have a poker up me ass. American's always get it wrong. Pfft.
@smergyl To be fair I'm a brit and I do love a good crumpet! lol but seriously even I get amazed when someone speaks in a "comercial" british accent. Heard someone say "smashing" in a nigel thornberry voice and was obsessed lol.
@tashrenee89 Australians actually sound a bit british to me. I'm American. Don't worry about it. No one is ever truly truthful when it comes to different countries. All stereotypical. You know the americans and the tourist thing? Fanny Packs, Toe Socks, Flip Flops, & bad sun burns. Although now that u mention it I've never seen a toursit like th@ in my life. I live in a historical area here so we get lots of tourists. Anyways, point is I never beleive the movies unless they're made by th@ cntry

Haha, I have to agree.. I'm Australian and I sound nothing like that. These actors may be Australian, but their just hyperbolising their accents! BIG TIME And I couldn't understand a WORD that guy said! Who talks like that?

Never thought I would say this, but DAMN do I sure miss how tv shows & movies were back then!

We don't actually talk like that AND just so everyone knows... i've only seen about 5 koalas and kangaroos in my entire life (21 years) & most of them were at a zoo so if you were wondering they are not everywhere & we dont have them as pets...and we dont talk like that!
tashrenee89 1 year ago 69
@tashrenee89 lol i dunno bout the rest of the country but i work with a guy who recently moved here from australia and he does in fact speak like that, and it's common sense people don't have koalas and kangaroos they are very dangerous animals if not cared for properly, i'm sure i don't have to tell you a kangaroo will kick you with striking force and probably damage your insides to no repair if hit with their full power, not to mention koalas with their intensely strong claws..

@tashrenee89 i've never stepped foot in australia but that is all stuff i learned in like.. elementary school.
xXxXBleedPurpleXxXx 1 year ago
@tashrenee89 last one but if australians don't really speak like that why is it the actors in the movie are from australia, IMDB it and look at their backrounds, MANY of the actors in this movie are in fact austrailian. so before you get all in a tizzy do some research.
xXxXBleedPurpleXxXx 1 year ago
@xXxXBleedPurpleXxXx Honestly, you can't form an opinion based on 1 Australian guy & some imdb profiles. HA! I don't need to research!! I LIVE HERE!!!!! I've NEVER used any of the phrases in this movie nor do i know anyone who has (unless we're taking the piss out of some other countries portrayals of the aussie slang). Hell, i even looked up Australian slang and i have never used 85% of those words.
tashrenee89 1 year ago
@tashrenee89 um... once again... they are all from the same place you are from... i think that says it all.
xXxXBleedPurpleXxXx 1 year ago
@xXxXBleedPurpleXxXx You are so ridiculous! CLEARLY, there are heaps of Australians that have looked at this video and every single one of them are commenting on how stupid they make Australians sound. I'm not going to argue because i know im right and you are ignorant! Hows about you get your ass off the couch and travel
tashrenee89 1 year ago
@tashrenee89 jfc dont get your panties all in a twist the fact is a ton of the actors are austrailian, i work with a guy whos australian, and he sounds exactly like the guys that were out fishing, so... again... untwist your fucking panties and watch the damn movie

@tashrenee89 Ha I know, they exaggerate everyone's accent, try being Irish...It's painful when people try to do our accents! You just have to laugh it off though!
CandyHeart65 1 year ago
@CandyHeart65 I think it must be an American film thing.....anyone from a certain country has this over-the-top accent, I've noticed it in English characters aswell.....no common english person sounds posh.
JarethDrakul 1 year ago
@CandyHeart65 i agree! i think its very funny wen ppl try to do our accent! its like ok only farmers who are lik 90 talk like that any more!!!

@tashrenee89 And even if there are Aussies that actually speak like that, I don't know why people have a hard time understanding them.

newyorkerboy1 11 months ago
@tashrenee89 Don't worry about it, American films always portray other countries a bit strangly. I'm English and I can promice you we do not speak like Gwen or Huge Grant, we don't have bad teeth, we don't sit around drinking tea and eating crumpets either. lol
smergyl 11 months ago 51
@smergyl I should hope not. Its the same when americans are portrayed its always the loud disturbing people that are shown. never whats really real. It's all stereotyped everywhere. I could bet you a hundred bucks (USD) that if you see a movie, it's never really how people in the diff countries rlly speak.
LiveLaughLove8489 11 months ago
@smergyl Yeah i no right? People dishonor korean ansesters. Twe Kwon doh is pronounce Tech kwon dough(like bread!) And they say stupid kung fu action like eagle fist! Wtf!

@smergyl
I find it funny though how they portray Brits as all the same when we couldn't be more different, I mean there's Scottish, English, Irish and Welsh and we all have our different accents and traditions but in their films when there is someone from Britain they are always speaking the "Queen's English" lol!

LIVANDLETTROLL 5 months ago
@smergyl Amen to that one. I don't even eat crumpets, I have my usual check up's at the dentist, we don't all eat Muffins, hardly any of us drink tea with our pinky up in fine china (usually a greatest sister mug) and I don't talk like I have a poker up me ass. American's always get it wrong. Pfft.
BeccaHeartsRainbows 5 months ago
@smergyl To be fair I'm a brit and I do love a good crumpet! lol but seriously even I get amazed when someone speaks in a "comercial" british accent. Heard someone say "smashing" in a nigel thornberry voice and was obsessed lol.
kittentailkim 5 months ago
@tashrenee89 Australians actually sound a bit british to me. I'm American. Don't worry about it. No one is ever truly truthful when it comes to different countries. All stereotypical. You know the americans and the tourist thing? Fanny Packs, Toe Socks, Flip Flops, & bad sun burns. Although now that u mention it I've never seen a toursit like th@ in my life. I live in a historical area here so we get lots of tourists. Anyways, point is I never beleive the movies unless they're made by th@ cntry
