All due respect - Anyone who would appear in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies is not a credit to the martial arts. He is whats wrong with the martial arts. Shinkendo is worthless. Sorry, had to be said. The truth can hurt.
@truthinelvi Films are not necessarily a fair judgement of one as a martial artist. Take Bruce Lee for example. I doubt he was proud of being in Blondie, Here Comes the Brides, campy Batman TV show character, and plenty of cheesy Chinese films. As a professional martial artist, involvement in films can be most random. Do check Obata Sensei's involvement in TV documentaries and specials on samurai.
@truthinelvi He did have to turn down some roles that just didn't represent Japanese swordsmanship in a respectable light as well. Being fair can be hard, yes, I know, but it's the respectable thing to do, especially from one martial artist to another.
Thanks for posting! I've always admired, and wanted to learn the way of the katana, and the Japanese culture that surrounds it - and so i've just recently started Shinkendo. Your commentary was informative, and humorous; thanks again!
Thank you very much for posting this. I just recently (as in last night) found out that there is a Shinkendo school held in my area. I've waited most of my life to take part in such a wonderful art. My blessings go out to Obata sensei and his family.
I found this very good and wonderful, Mike I always find your videos wonderful. However the music in the background, what is the name and where could I get it, it would fit well it my dojo.
Wow... there is something so hot about a woman who can fight that well... if I were single, and I knew her personally, I'd probably be hitting all over her, lol... sparring with her... watching her moves with the staff...
@ShinkendoTube why not have some great free-play videos? IT would be awesome to see it.
