Bethesda's focusing more on smooth combat and all that nowadays, and less on immersive worlds (Vvardenfell was so much fun just to exist in, Skyrim's kind of a boring place). But overall, I think Skyrim is still good. It's just not as great as its predecessors.

mages dont use armor, only robes...we can all play the game as a mage with heavy armor, try doing it with 0 armor when even one atack can kill you if you dont use alteration defensive spels witch last 60 sec... btw nice video and even beter disintegrate :)

@idontnowhyilikethem Start with conjuration, it's really the most useful school early on when you have a small mana pool (conjuration ends up giving you 2 permanent Storm Atronarchs or Daedra, it's very usefull, and using summoned weapons level conjuration, the weapon skill and - with the right "talent" - even fill soul shards, usefull for enchanting).

Some points in Restoration are very usefull too - look at a talent that improves mana regen, you really want it, and the auto-ressurect is great

@idontnowhyilikethem After that just buy points in destruction, choose TWO elemental schools and focus on them (two because of the resistances on some mobs). Fire is the most damaging and fireballs have the longest range; frost destroys melee with the ensnare and stamina drain; and electricity is a mage's worst nightmare, since it depletes mana.

@Starioshka I'm really not sure what are you talking about, it looks exactly like Skyrim to me. Maybe you mean he runs a little too fast - in this case, maybe you're used to playing with heavy armor (slows runs speed) - cloth doesn't. If you're talking about the animations, Skyrim is not FPS-capped, so the better the system, better the framerate (and more frames = more smooth animations).

For each day, i put at least 12-16hours of gameplay down because i was engulfed in how great Bethesda did with Skyrim. I have a permanent storm atronach, one flame atronach and J'zargo as follower. We fought with 3 dragons (1 elder dragon,1 ancient dragon and 1 dickhead named dragon) in Falkreath. J'zargo used lightning and I used Incinerate on both hands (like a fire ball but stronger), I defeated the elder dragon and then J'zargo almost died but the flame atronach helped him and then the guards came out with bows and f*cked off the dragons. Now THAT is a real epic battle.

I focused on being a warrior very proficient in light armor and two handed. But with that it was easy to become a Destruction mage. I'm at level 75 and have 88 destruction now. With an armor rating of 900 and dual enchanted magica light armor, it was surprisingly easy to level up my destruction. If only I could find stronger destruction spell books. Can anyone help with that?

@mingren89 invest in magicka reduction armor as well as destruction magicka reduction armor. Necessities else you'll struggle and lose faith in being mage. Alot of "enemy kiting" early game. But later on...u can laugh at all enemies.

@mingren89 Quiet Casting in the Illusion school is pretty awesome too. I went down the Mage route as an Altmer. I maxed out my Destruction tree ( except the frost branch - totally useless imo), got Recovery perk in restoration, Have 100 sneak ( but not all perks).

If you are hidden you can keep zapping them with thunderbolts forever without being detected, chain lightning is pretty awesome too.

I am now playing as a Bosmer Archer and I miss magic :(

@mingren89 just lvl up enchantment as eary u can, when u are lvl 100 u can enchant 4 items u can wear with 25% magika reduction for 2 magic classes(at example destruction and regeneration) with all 4 items enchanted like this u have 0 magika cost for EVERY SPELL!

no offense but being a pure mage makes the game way too easy. I also found it boring to cast spells the whole time, meleying is much more engaging.
