  • He said, "Forget that weed it keeps you broke, invest in pounds and profit", i mean he is still on that spitten knowledge. Its so much advanced and he is too. He has come so far...

  • I REMEMBER THIS YO I DIDN'T KNOW WHO JAY-Z WAS BACK IN 94 BUT I WAS SINGING THE HOOK PART TO MYSELF WHEN I WAS WALKING TO SCHOOL

  • This song needs to have at least 10,000,000 views.smh at some people

  • REAL STREET LOVE !

  • jay z dope as fuck i like the beat for this but the remix done by big jaz is iller

  • lol 20 years later and jay looks the same

  • @asammieawa trust me exactly the same only his hair changed

  • this guy looks like Kid Kudi's dad!!..4:04

  • 2 MY CLASSMATES IT GETS GREATER LATER

  • Dude was saying so much fucking game here...and most people dont even catch it.

  • great!! what more can i say???????

  • The beginning of the deep, introspective rap songs Jay is known for.

  • To me, rap music is best when the artist is in that struggling phase, when they have to rap and do whatever it takes to pay the bills. Because to me that’s when they’re totally original and don’t have record companies clouding their originality with shit that will reach the charts and get on the radio.

  • @hans0l0d0l0

yeah dude, nothing clouding the originality but sheer existence; bills, etc.

  • "In My Lifetime, nigga, go thru ya research/ St.Thomas, my nigga, that was ME 1st"

  • @Airek2007 This is the original version of In My Lifetime, its not on any of his albums, its only available as a single

  • How epic is this video??? Like now i see why jay be talking about how he the king and the god mc, this guy was doing it big since the early 90's, before the whole Rocafella movement. His lyrics was ahead of his time and the videos paint the perfect picture for it as well. It's amazing cus Jay has grown so much, like how can i not 4get about this Jay-Z from the 90's when im probably bumping Blueprint 2 or Watch The Throne, and its like the feeling a parent gets when they see their child prosper.

  • Can Someone please tell me which album this is from?

  • @FINbball I definately recommend the blueprint & the black album those are considered to be Jay- z classics. Easy to find nowadays just google them.

  • @stryderman500 and what about reasonable doubt?

  • i swear this song fuckin motivates me to go out an get money BY ALL MEANS NECESSARY..nah mean niggaz can say whatever they want bout jay z now but the nigga music was always on motivating niggaz to GET MONEY!

  • first reaction! also what the hell is that?

  • Dope song!! Check out "Made It" by Ether Q. A talented & exciting new rapper!

  • Cool Jay

  • Which are the best Jay-Z albums? Which ones should I buy?

  • @FINbball All of them. Kingdom Come is like, his only bad album.

  • Gritty Nyc Forever!!!!

  • why are so many videos edited the uncensored version is much better

  • thats they old school jay-z sunglasses at 1:20 lmao lol and a hawaiian shirt hehehe

  • @Larh124...u are so true..i wish real hip hop would come back...some of these teeny boppers think lil twist is the goat these days...i wish these people would smarten up

  • CLASSIC SHIT RIGHT HERE..

  • I was born in '95! Jigga's an Ol' Man!

    Favorite rapper always

  • is this song from one of his albums

  • @rickelonka No, unfortunately, it's not. Neither is I can't get wid dat, which showcases his old ass originator flow (Spit double and triple time on a beat). His first couple singles need to be released because they're really damn good

  • @rickelonka This was actually sold by Jay and Damon Dash out of the trunk of their car. Jay was still hustling back then.

  • This classic proves Jigga is a legend. Ah the golden age, how hip hop has changed!

  • Most important verse in this track "Forget that weed, it keeps u broke" Thats a fact, and I hope y'all would remember that.

  • jay is like BIG a lyrical assassin, and NAS is like Pac a deep poet real shit i love hip hop

  • @gerrardizking but nas also got a great flow and to me jays flow fell off very early so id say nas is better but thats just an opinion ..

  • @PascalO3007 word i agree with you yo, i been showing all my homies all theearly 90s jayz tracks and how his flow changed, Nas' flow is just so natural and smooth, they're both legends though

  • this nigga hov nasty

  • when u get a time machine the cheers! life is bullshit but there's nothing to do. i feel sorry for our time =/

  • DAMN HOV WAS ON HIS SHIT BACK IN THE DAY SMH

  • WORD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • damn this video was shoot with jay drug money

  • OMFG rest in peace to hip hop.....LIKE if you get dead fuckin depressed when u see what is being rapped nowadays...

REST IN PEACE TO WHEN MUSIC MADE U HAPPY

  • 4 those who disagree let me make my self more CLEAR, REAL Hip Hop use to be MAINSTREAM now it went underground! The real artist are not being seen at all on Main stream they NEED to be put back on main stream at this point cause artist are getting away with anything and making millions!

  • "While others worship guns, I worship tons of money/tons of fun/laughin' at things that ain't even funny/so I ain't pressed to make a CD/I took it slow/80 percent of these rappers wit deals can't see me wit the dough"

I wish Jay-Z still rapped like this.

  • this will never get old man

  • Lowkey In my lifetime vs Jay Z In my lifetime

I know am backing lowkey ;)

  • @Umbot786 Who gives a shit who ur backing? why the fuck are u here anyway?

  • @hoodiemoney24 I was just saying there 2 tracks with the same name, which one do you think is better?

Sorry if you like sucking Jay-Z's dick

  • Jiggas Best!

  • I need 2 see a whole lotta dough!

  • In My Life Time

  • I've never slept, cause sleepin keeps you deep in debt, on the block your lucky if u see my silhouette. - haha I hear u Jigga..

  • I didnt know Jigga had a video for this track. His flow back than was incredible.

  • ALWAYS A WEIRD NIGGA POSTIN DUMB SHIT...... LAME AS FUCK

  • JAY-Z TOP FIVE RAPPERS NOW AND BACK IN THE DAY. A TRUE LYRICIST

  • @paypaboy412

WOULD YOU LET JAY-Z RUB HIS NUTS AGAINST THE BACK OF YOUR NECK ???

  • He actually rapped songs back then lol, now he just speaks his lyrics.

  • I hate the music industry now! I mean when this came out I was 4 years old!. But my older sister and brother used to listen to this. But you know what still to this day I listen to this, because it is good music!. I mean I can't even remember Souja boy's first song anymore.

  • jay-z is top 3 rappers of all time

  • now or then jigga is still da best

  • what album this on?

  • St. Thomas In the Building!

  • If you think Hip Hop is dead either go underground or wait for 2011. Three Wu solo albums are dropping. Smif n Wessun are teaming up with Pete Rock. 2011 will be a great year.

  • This video was shot in St.Thomas, US. Virgin Islands niceee

  • someone please upload the instrumental

  • i no bey would hate looking at 1:37-1:41 nowdays.

  • Classic shiittt!!!

  • Eh, there are some decent songs on tha carteriii (Dr Carter, Tie my Hands, Shoot me down), but i would agree that there are dozens of classic albums to listen to before you bother with wayne.

Too bad this video has such bad audio quality, I cant hear what he's saying. Nowadays the CD single costs like $10, so it seems this song may be lost.

  • Eh, there are some decent songs on tha carteriii (Dr Carter, Tie my Hands, Shoot me down), but i would agree that there are dozens of classic albums to listen to before you bother with wayne.

  • I don't or never did sell drugs, but the hustle in this song is priceless. I mean this song and the time period was all about raising aspirations, getting away from the small time thinking that, we, the people in the hood where stuck in. Even though I never sold drugs, I can relate to the feeling of rising, succeeding. This is one of my all time favorite songs, I mean he dropped so many jewels, I don't think you can hate this, Just appreciate it, and accept it for what it is classic.

  • "I aint pressed to make a CD"

    Biggs at 4:02

  • haha he still looks the same and it been 15 years

  • @stephane, if your not jay z you can't fully comprehend or grasp what jay is spitting. Good art is universal. you just insulted jay z. and I just insulted you, BITCH!

  • If you don't have the hustlers mentality, then you can't fully comprehend or grasp what Jay is spitting about and accept it.

  • I feel touched by this music

  • Uh is this original? Cause both the remix and the original beats are both dope.

  • wut

  • I luv this song. I aint know who was Jay-z when I first saw this video. This joint made me notice him

  • wait a minute did i jus see jay-z wit his shirt off at 2:34 lol that nigga aint took his shirt off since

  • @nuknuknuk111

if u listin to friend or foe on reasonable doubt, damn dash was talkin at the beginning and he said something like "jay-z? the in my lifetime nigga? u talkin bout that skinny nigga on the boat?" this was the video he was talkin bout

  • @Rudboi100

duh..some niccas been on jigga before he blew.

  • any body gotta link to this single??

  • we get it

    lil wayne is shit

    now let jigga rock

  • The best.

  • hey can someone let me know what cd this song was on??? i have searched everywhere but i can't find it on any of his cds

  • @mrjasp30

its not on a cd. this and a few other tracks like "i can't get with that" were strictly singles. if you search online, there is a mixtape called "before the roc". it is a sick ass mixtape that consist of nothing but jay-z songs that came out before reasonable doubt. this song is on it but its the edited version. you should listen to it. its just as good if not better than reasonable doubt in my opinion

  • Jay-Z Classic!

It's funny how back in the day there were never any of the devil accusations, until now that people became so ignorant and gullible

  • this video is oretty wack but the song is sick

  • @supersupergeeks

it might not be as hot as some other videos but jay-z & dame dash put this video together with their own money. i personally couldn't put a video like this together without the help of a major label or a loan from the bank.

  • @Rudboi100 yea true true i couldnt either i love the song just the video throws it off a little but its tight that they did it on there own wallet

  • I need a FUCKING TIME MACHINE I DON'T BELONG HERE ANYMORE! This is REAL SHIT, I HATE TODAY'S SHIT A LOT! I don't like Jay too much but his shit back then WOW what a difference, it's not all his fault shit ain't the same NO MORE! Music went Down Hill! Nas was right when he said hip hop is DEAD cause it's a fact!

  • @Larh124 i disagree with that statement. Listen to common market, macklemore, jusrassic 5, hilltop hoods, Brother Ali, grynch. hip hop maybe underground but its not dead.

  • @thecommonbehavior Very.. very close to dying.

  • @Larh124 hiphop is not dead, thats the most bullshit i ever heard! turn off ur radio an tv!

  • @NecKClippA It's pretty much dead.

  • @Larh124 Word up

  • @Larh124 shit i feel u i hate todays shit and i was too young to enjoy it wen it was good

  • @richhustle For real nshit

  • i know hip hop sucks now !!We need that vibe back!thats it!damn im 26 and i did just start to hit the club that the hip hop start to sucks! There is realy no reason at all why the music is like that!!Brothers that can ryme need to put the shit nowwww!Life is beautiful..but whats life whitout a good soundtrack!i want to ear the boum bak, nothin wack or offtrack!!!And i miss that cool way to dress and shit!!!

MAn brothers need to put music down for real!all the fans are still here we aint dead!!

  • @Larh124 well they passed the torch and no one picked it up...maybe thats why hip hop is dead

  • @Larh124 - Yo homie i swore i was the only nigga that felt that way!!! Real talk - that was when Jay was hungry!

When u get that time machine - HOLLA AT A NIGGA!!! LOL

  • @Larh124 take me with you sick of bullshit music and clubs

  • Ok...usmarineoneill...number 1...I'm not 40 I'm wayyy younger than that...number 2 I understand what u mean and remember I'm not dissin jay z you can evolve with the times granted but why do you have to dumb down lyrics for this generation but. Concerning red and meth listen to blackout 2. Not their best but still ok

  • @718bxfinest

He had to dumb down his music to appeal to a broader fanbase, i know hardcore hiphop fans who still don't even get alot of the entandres on Reasonable Doubt, so what makes you think the casual fan will even get his lyrics. For what Jay sacrificed in lyrics, he made up for in songwriting, flows, and becoming a more all aroung artist. I heard Red and Meth's Blackout 2, the problem is the rest of the world didn't and don't care about their shit, they r 40 rapping about blunts. smh

  • @usmarineoneil EXACTLY! THANK U! And the funny thing is, the dumbed down isht people STILL can't get! "I pack 'cause my dough's movin'." Sounds simple but naaah. And that's one of his simplest lines! lol. He's way too advanced. Every line has like 3,4 meanings. People are used to isht U don't hav2 think about like 50 or whoever. It's a sad state.

  • @718bxfinest

it sucks to say, but if jay-z never dumbed down his lyrics we might not know who he is. reasonable doubt only got 4/5 review and it didn't go platinum. most people went back and listened to reasonable doubt after they heard big pimpin or hard knock life.

  • where the hell is this jay z at/? Will the jay z of this era please stand up. True hip heads know what is blueprint 3 nah, kingdom come nah he needs to go back to the essence when he was battling DMX at the pool hall or even his albums before the fist blueprint classic shit. he has it with the american gagster album but come on seriously, i want the old jay z back. when you had to listen to the song numerous amout of times and say to yourself " yo this dude is insane".

  • @718bxfinest

Why do you think Jay has lasted this long dude, you have to adjust with the times and not box yourself in as a artist. Why do you think Redman,Method,The Wu,etc aren't relevant today, the never switched their music or content up. You can't be 40 tryna relive your youth or pretending to be something your aren't any more.

  • Miss these days where hip hop made your head nod!! Then came the bounce! now I dont even know what it does!!

  • @Vokab27 LOL!!

  • @Vokab27 it annoys you ears have you head those overplayed robots beats

  • @Vokab27 my head use to nod to hip hop it just shakes back and forth now with shame tisk tisk

  • @Vokab27 Thats Actually Funny

  • @Vokab27 It mostly sucks a lot...lol...

  • One of the best songs i have ever heard. I don't sell drugs. But if you listen to this song. I mean really listen. You can apply a lot of the hustle in this song to your life, This song is all about raised aspirations. "IN MY LIFETIME"

  • Jaz looking mad as hell in this video lol

  • youtube.com/watch?v=C9Ed-242cts

  • sounds pretty good

  • what model of nike shoes jay wears here in video?

  • NO matter what jay does now , When i think of jay i think of these days !!!!!! JAY is a LEGEND !!!!

  • Jay z isn't even doing it 'his way' now, he's doing the commercial , corporation way.

  • @Ostrasize

how do u know thats not his way?

  • @G2DaooZe If it is that way, he's an even shittier artist than I thought.

  • @Ostrasize Since he IS the corporation, I guess it's his way.

  • @Ostrasize

i see your point but if he kept doing it this way he wouldn't have lasted very long. sucks to say but that's the reality of it.

  • @Rudboi100 He blew up with Big Pimpin' and Hard knock life, if he would have at least stuck with that, shit would have been aight.

  • B.R.O.O.K.L.Y.N.N.N.N.N MAH HOOD 4EVER.

  • 1 of my favorites in my life !!!

  • jay borrowed lines from a few rappers but he still kept the game on his back got to tip my hat to him

  • Could any one tell me where can i find this version of this song its way better than the remix

  • this my jam

  • hey btw is there someone who know who is danny dan ?

  • Still Hot.... If You Like Bk Rappers Like This, Search and see "K-Dubb Man Among Boys".

    Then Sub And Fav

  • @K2AStarVision

    He sucks

  • yeaaah men nice song 90'S ;)
