I have a Compac 16 and would like to do the same. Very impressive and simple. I understand your post about slotting the 1 inch pvc, but how or what did you use to coil the rope in eithger direction? Thanks.
@musketman2008 They are great and forgiving boats and I do miss mine. I actually have an S2 8B made by S2 Yachts which is a nice boat but quite a bit larger. The SC 22 is a fun day sailor. The jib furler does make it a lot more user friendly. I love the swing Keel and being able to beach the boat and trailer it also. The SC did give myself and family a lot of good times and memories. With a wife and 4 kids, we just had to get a larger boat or else I would have kept the South Coast. Enjoy!
My jib is a hank on. I bought 3 pieces of 1" PVC and coupled them together. I also bought a 1" PVC compresion fitting to use as a spool at the bottom. I layed out my jib in the yard and actually staked it at the top and bottom so it could be pulled tight. Then i layed the long 1" PVC next to it and marked where each of the hank clips touched it. Then I slotted the pipe just enough for the clip to be able to reach the cable. Had to lay the mast for install. strech during marking.

I recently bought an SC 22. I haven't sailed her yet. How do you like yours? Anything you can tell me about them?

Looks like it works good, how did you make it for only $18? What parts did you use, and do you have a furling jib or hank on?
