ive seen some sf tournament vids with daigo in it, like sf3 and the newest which is sf4. i never thought that this guy was playing in tournaments since the fucking 90's. how old is this guy fucking 30. but nevertheless daigo is one of the best gamers ive seen. he is worthy to be called a sf god. and being a kid from the 90's those arcade machines are nostalgic.
@hype2k He was salty because he thought that it was best of 3 and not single elimination. He thought those were the rules so of course he would be salty. It was either a miscommunication or misunderstanding on somebody's end.
daigo is like out of place coming to usa to beat the shit out of american players stay in japan you bitch nigga. i swear hes the only japanese player to always leech off of american players. and people welcome him. they would welcome valle in japan would they? fucking hypocrites.
I really cant believe how long ago this was haha it's crazy to see how street fighter has developed over the years. Even the simple things. no air blocks, add dashes.
It really sucks that Alex Valle thought it was 3 out of 5, maybe he would have play differently used a different character idk, but the announcer indicated more than once it was best of 3. No excuses Alex.
@Virusbluemage He does make excuses though. Bring up this day when talking to Valle, excuses is all you'll here. How you can try to make the case "I thought it was 3 out of 5" when theres video evidence of the announcer sitting you down before the match and explaining it was 2 out of 3 completely baffles me.
@squaminator *sigh* Uhm, no. This is just a story Valle and his fanboys like to tell. Daigo stated after this match that he was retiring his akuma, as world champion. He also never played SFZ3 even remotely seriously after this. If you think there was anything about this game Daigo didn't know going into this match, or that Valle "showed" Daigo anything, you're retarded.
Valle you lost bud.... don't be a sore loser trying to negotiate more matches WTH?? And does that idiot seth think that "roo" is gonna eventually be a catchphrase or something?? The pronunciation is plain wrong.
@wtfdudenotcool101 that's the best explanation you have? i'll wipe my ass with that. your dads the faggot. and tell your mom i'll be little late tonight.
im not gonna lie! Alex Valle was totally outmatch by Daigo! as street fighter player, even if this was to go best 3 out of 5 round! alex would still lost! if Ryu is the only character he chooses to play, it wont beat a skilled Akuma player! Im not saying i can beat alex but i would have a really good chance against him!
I'm a Daigo fan, but this is bullshit. They should have finished the set. I hate people getting fucked over like this. Sorry Alex. I hope someone got fired for screwing you over.
It was supposed to be best out of 5 but they ran out of time so they ended it after it was 2-1 for Daigo. Quite astonishing though. Daigo being a World Champion from the age of 16 and still being in his prime after 12 years...
Seeing as how Alex is one of THE best SF players, and was probably at his prime during this time (youth is always awesome -- even people like John Choi claimed that his reflexes dulled, so you know, from a gamer perspective, that youth > older age), I'm pretty sure he could've easily mastered Akuma.
And when player tiers are equal, well, the only deciding factor is the character now, right? And Akuma is definitely a lot better than Ryu.
Good call. Both are pretty good, and Akuma CERTAINLY had many more moves and advantages over Ryu. Any idiot without a brain would fail to see this and argue the contrary.

McReins 2 months ago
@McReins Ok faggot here you go though I doubt you'll even get this.
Ryu is a single syllable word.
There is not really an "R" sound as we know it in English in the Japanese Language.
It's a combination of 'D', 'L' and 'R'.
Imagine the word "kyu" pronounced "queue".
Now just replace the "k" with the "D/L/R" sound and you have the pronunciation.
That's the best I can do without pronouncing it in person.

@Narmo23 Reflexes don't dull unless you let them. Daigo is still just as fast and ALOT smarter than he was before.
