  • ive seen some sf tournament vids with daigo in it, like sf3 and the newest which is sf4. i never thought that this guy was playing in tournaments since the fucking 90's. how old is this guy fucking 30. but nevertheless daigo is one of the best gamers ive seen. he is worthy to be called a sf god. and being a kid from the 90's those arcade machines are nostalgic.

  • performing that good with a crowd that is chanting for the opponent is amazing. Love to see that.

  • thank you for uploading this!

  • the beast was long releashed.

  • valle looks so young lol

  • Really nice quality of audio and video

we are talking about 98 :|

  • very nice see Alex using Ryu and Daigo using Akuma....

  • Rare footage of Daigo actually smiling.

  • @pozertron the fact that I've heard this phrase about a million times makes it quite common.

  • bravo alex siempre jugando al maximo

  • alex valle's godly era

  • 2:34 someone say "peruvian power"

  • @cuentanueva1234 I guess it has to do with the fact that Alex was born in Peru.

  • Valle mad Salty !

  • @hype2k He was salty because he thought that it was best of 3 and not single elimination. He thought those were the rules so of course he would be salty. It was either a miscommunication or misunderstanding on somebody's end.

  • Alex "3/5" Valle.

  • Was that Ryu in the trophy? Were those horrific jackets part of the finals' prize?

  • 3:15 Daigo started dancing on him

  • Valle, what happened ?

  • @druha10304 wow you mad kid? just enjoy the games

  • dude too many people scream when alex does his clone thing

  • fuken a they look like little kids right there.

  • Did Alex Valle get fat or buff up?

  • @bibi24 fat.

  • Its weird seeing Alex Valle so young and slim, while Daigo hasn't changed too drastically at all.

Make up your own USA vs Japan jokes with that one!

  • 5:03 i think is the first time i've ever seen Daigo smile.

  • Hahahaha yeah ppl cheering and chanting for Alex is really gonna help. He got beat!!!!

  • I really cant believe how long ago this was haha it's crazy to see how street fighter has developed over the years. Even the simple things. no air blocks, add dashes.

  • They have to buy a controller after every training session, tons of caffeine and sleep.

  • funny how a cheer in japanese can sound like cali cali cali

  • Good games.

  • It really sucks that Alex Valle thought it was 3 out of 5, maybe he would have play differently used a different character idk, but the announcer indicated more than once it was best of 3. No excuses Alex.

  • @Virusbluemage He does make excuses though. Bring up this day when talking to Valle, excuses is all you'll here. How you can try to make the case "I thought it was 3 out of 5" when theres video evidence of the announcer sitting you down before the match and explaining it was 2 out of 3 completely baffles me.

  • the 2 are dope, end of story.

  • ohh i was confused at first.. because daigo always use ryu.... but after seeing the comments daigo was using akuma XD

  • @gildarts222 Daigo didn't realise that Ryu was viable in SFA3 until he played Valle. He switched to Ryu in Alpha 3 after this tournament.

  • @squaminator *sigh* Uhm, no. This is just a story Valle and his fanboys like to tell. Daigo stated after this match that he was retiring his akuma, as world champion. He also never played SFZ3 even remotely seriously after this. If you think there was anything about this game Daigo didn't know going into this match, or that Valle "showed" Daigo anything, you're retarded.

  • Valle you lost bud.... don't be a sore loser trying to negotiate more matches WTH?? And does that idiot seth think that "roo" is gonna eventually be a catchphrase or something?? The pronunciation is plain wrong.

  • @McReins Easier to say the "Lywuu". Just sayin' bro.

  • @McReins Roo is closer than Ree-Yoo or Rye-Yoo.

You probably couldn't pronounce it right anyway. Stop being a faggot about it. A year later i bet you still gonna act like you know better...

  • @wtfdudenotcool101 that's the best explanation you have? i'll wipe my ass with that. your dads the faggot. and tell your mom i'll be little late tonight.

  • @McReins Ok faggot here you go though I doubt you'll even get this.

Ryu is a single syllable word.

There is not really an "R" sound as we know it in English in the Japanese Language.

    It's a combination of 'D', 'L' and 'R'.

Imagine the word "kyu" pronounced "queue".

Now just replace the "k" with the "D/L/R" sound and you have the pronunciation.

That's the best I can do without pronouncing it in person.

  • An Alpha Counter to begin the match is too dangerous!

  • i'd say the final was fair from looking at this video

  • Is that Seth Killian on the mic?

  • @darkstarr88

Has to be, he pronounced "Ryu" as "Roo"

  • im not gonna lie! Alex Valle was totally outmatch by Daigo! as street fighter player, even if this was to go best 3 out of 5 round! alex would still lost! if Ryu is the only character he chooses to play, it wont beat a skilled Akuma player! Im not saying i can beat alex but i would have a really good chance against him!

  • @ssjrapeyou

you can beat a skilled akuma player with every character it depends on how skilled YOU are ;D

  • @ssjrapeyou no you wouldn't

  • I'm a Daigo fan, but this is bullshit. They should have finished the set. I hate people getting fucked over like this. Sorry Alex. I hope someone got fired for screwing you over.

  • i don't know what happened on the rule.

But on video #1 before they play. That guy clearly said 2 of 3 games and 3 of 5 rounds.

  • Poetry in Motion on both sides.

  • It was supposed to be best out of 5 but they ran out of time so they ended it after it was 2-1 for Daigo. Quite astonishing though. Daigo being a World Champion from the age of 16 and still being in his prime after 12 years...

  • How old were these fools back then? Jebus. And I still wonder why they stopped it after this match. It was best 3 of 5 for grand finals.

  • americans wonder why people think of them as idiots - people booing the daigo.

  • Good Match. Its too bad that akuma was rigged in alpha 3 and ryu wasn't as good. Would have been a better match if they both were akuma.

  • Akuma wasn't rigged, he's just one tier class above ryu, ever think alex isin't good with akuma??

  • Seeing as how Alex is one of THE best SF players, and was probably at his prime during this time (youth is always awesome -- even people like John Choi claimed that his reflexes dulled, so you know, from a gamer perspective, that youth > older age), I'm pretty sure he could've easily mastered Akuma.

And when player tiers are equal, well, the only deciding factor is the character now, right? And Akuma is definitely a lot better than Ryu.

  • @Narmo23

Good call. Both are pretty good, and Akuma CERTAINLY had many more moves and advantages over Ryu. Any idiot without a brain would fail to see this and argue the contrary.

  • @Narmo23 Reflexes don't dull unless you let them. Daigo is still just as fast and ALOT smarter than he was before.

I'm a musician and I can tell you my reflexes are much faster as a 29 year old than they were when I was a teenager.

  • Lookin good there Daigo! ya!! Bet you could sell that trophy for a few thousand dollars!! =XD

  • I thought i read someone where that they had to cut it short do to time restrictions or something like that. I could be wrong though.

  • wow valle looks so awesome and gangsta at that the time, now he looks like an old chubby guy -.-

  • This was 11 years ago yet it looks like it was +20 years ago.

  • ????

  • i dont get it. alex won the last 2 rounds right? so if he already lost why play them anyway? oO

  • ok.. daigo is gouki....-.- got it xD

  • Daigo was akuma Alex was Ryu

  • Megaphone guy fucked it up. They were suppose to play again in different style., but he immediately called Daigo the winner.

  • valle looked so salty after losing

  • according to him he thought there would be another set or something like that...

  • Valle so young, sheesh.

  • daigo owned

  • Daigo is the one with the trophy....How was he owned??

  • he meant daigo OWNED this tourney or something

  • Ohh ok...usually when someone says "own" it means to beat or defeat someone else. That's one of the expressions people use these days.

  • I think he meant daigo owned, as in he owned the tournament aka owned valle

  • Oh ok...You are right....that makes sense

  • megaphone guy is a tool bag

  • nice, this was at nickel city . too bad it closed down. only been there like 3 times.

  • lol valet parking

  • Lol alex should have gone to 2p side for the third match but didnt such a bad sport he deserved to lose good

  • so what does that have to do with his loss? -.-

  • lol?

  • Dude these guys are so good, it doesnt matter which side they play on. They practice for hours everyday.
