LoL is in my opinion more for the casual gamers, since there aint that much competition in LoL compared to HoN.

I've myself played both games quite much, but LoL was quite lame to play after a while because it lacked so much stuff which I enjoy in HoN, for an example the ability to do some cool jukes.
@draanexle True, but i think that LoL has so much more to offer. Unlike in HoN you dont just increase your attack damage but can power up your spells as well. Also: You dont have to like buy mana regen to get attack damage. I like both games equally but the one game has many more things the other one doesnt have. IF riot and s2games would make another new version of DotA it would be awesome! :)

DOTA was the first MOBA, it invented MOBA. Other Genres have converged out of several things and changed quite a lot, but MOBA games are all still exactly like DOTA, even down to copying the map layout near exactly. I can see no difference between playing HoN or playing LoL. LoL seems to be the more popular though, likely because of it's lower system requirements.

That goes for the bots as well, a bot system is a very nice feature to have, I don't know why anyone would see that as a negative. It does seem like HoN has a higher skill cap, what with champions that have pets and things like that, but it also seems to have a lot more really easy champions, champions that have passive abilities and autoattack. In all honesty it just seems to me like LoL is much more balanced in that sense, the skill needed to play differs less from champ to champ.
Something else I'd like to comment on, a lot of people are saying they stole this from LoL... so what?

Monkey King was even a worse case of copying, since they brought him out VERY shortly after Wukong, the MONKEY KING from LoL.
If you want to talk about Gameplay, you can not compare HoN to LoL that much anyway, they feel both very different to each other. (Denying, almost no Jungling, etc.)

They have characters that are able to jungle fully during the laning phase in HoN that is frightfully useful, thus creating a double solo lane to allow more exp gained overall. Heroes with jungling skills are Tempest, Ophelia, Predator, Dampeer, Legionarre, Midas and Zephyr comes to mind.

@MultifariousEntity LOL i got u. Just seems as 2 games that has a player base that sit there and do nothing but bash eachother. The fact that an aspect of one game was stolen is basically a way to 1 up the other. LOL The whole this game is better than the other annoys me as a whole though Its lik PS3 or Xbox -_-

@bronzejusthawk I played LoL first so adapting to HoN was easy. I have nothing to suggest to you, I don't even know your playstyle! >< All heroes are nice if you play them well. Right now I'm excelling on magic support though :)

I don't understand why people just love to make comparisons with LoL and HoN... These two have their upside and their downside and in fact both were taken from DoTA... If anyone starts whining about rip-offs, aren't they both??? Nobody can match the pure awesomeness of DoTA so someone had to make another entirely profitable version of it... *sighs*

HoN and LoL are made from the same creators of dota, who betrayed them and started making new dota similarities that epicly failed

Monkey King was even a worse case of copying, since they brought him out VERY shortly after Wukong, the MONKEY KING from LoL.
If you want to talk about Gameplay, you can not compare HoN to LoL that much anyway, they feel both very different to each other. (Denying, almost no Jungling, etc.)

@coolwar13 The Monkey King is a Chinese folk character. Characters take far too long to develop for there to be any "stealing" in this case.

They have characters that are able to jungle fully during the laning phase in HoN that is frightfully useful, thus creating a double solo lane to allow more exp gained overall. Heroes with jungling skills are Tempest, Ophelia, Predator, Dampeer, Legionarre, Midas and Zephyr comes to mind.
