I find SDR hard to get my head round. But I gather it's all around the maths of modulation/demodulation not a strong point of mine. I know ssb mixers with image rejection can be built using close tolerance components. I wonder what your thoughts are on the Atheros Chipsets on ones PCI cards whether they can be de-channelised? Is there an embargo on releasing this software. If this were possible, it would be nice to have cheap 13cm, 9cm and 6cm transceivers.
ham radio we need the new and also the old as well. as it makes it more interesting i use mainly digimodes useing an older set maybe,as for sdr and the net good thing till binladin drops a bomb on it then it wont work.as they found out in september 11 .they had to call the hams out with ther rigs internet went bang....jeff..M6glh
Hi Dom ... many thanks for the above ... the whole SDR scene has been a bit of a grey area this side ... but the latest vlog is a valuable introduction to this new technology ... on the youngham podcasts mentioned at the end ... we at young ham would be honoured to host anything you would be kind enough to contribute , either now or in the future ... best wishes de mi3wqt [ and the rest of the youngham gang ]
