  • Hi Dale, I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for posting. Cheers!

  • thanks so much, you are so nice to watch ;)

  • Can you make a tutorial , or tell me how to blur in Nikon CoolPix L120 ? pls respond

  • @shadowmaster799, I am not completely sure what you are asking. If you mean that you would like a shallow depth of field (so that your subject is sharp and your background is blurry), then you could use Aperture Priority and open the completely (small f number). Using a high focal length ("zoom") will also decrease the depth of field. something like "portrait mode" might be an easy way to simulate this.

  • so useful thanks a lot partner !

  • cool video

  • zero dislikes, first video I've seen with over 10k views!

  • ewww a kit lens!

  • great info, tks

  • Awesome Vid. Man, as a beginner to photography I understood everything until maybe half way and even then you were very simple and concise please make more vids. Also I am debating about getting either a canon 60d or rebel t2i can you help!?

  • @MedicAlv1 Thanks for the feedback. I have only played with the 60D for about 15min at Photokina and liked it - the familiar EOS feel with a few extra features. The swing screen could certainly come in handy. I would almost certainly take the 60D over a T2i, but then again, the latter comes in a Jackie Chan edition!

  • Thank you for this video, just getting serious with my DSLR and this was very helpful!

  • Now THIS is a real tutorial! Thank you!

  • Thank you, very useful!

  • Thanks John and Albert, it was just such a wonderful morning. The grasslands, forests and cliffs around Graskop are just so stunning and every time I go there I am energized with the wonder of Mother Nature.

Bush Blackcaps, Chorister Robins, pipits, longclaws, proteas, Natal Bottlebrush, great stone formations...

  • @digiscopingvideos hi, im going to be starting photography soon and i was wondering if there is any tips or anything that i should know about it, ive been researching aperture, iso, and shutter speed and it is all still somewhat confusing to me...im getting the canon powershot sx20 is, i know its not a top of the line camera but it does what i need plus some...so if could give me any bits of info id be very greatful

  • Hi Dylan,

as with everything, the more you do it, the more you learn. It seems you have a natural curiosity, and this will guide you in finding out more, and so the best I could suggest you do is to just get out and challenge yourself: take as many photos in lots of different situations as you can. be creative!

  • @digiscopingvideos thank you, most people just ignore me and im glad you didnt and for sure i will get out and start taking pictures as soon as i can...the camera i am going to be getting is the CANON SX20 IS its not a DSLR but its far better thn anything ive used before

  • Very well done Dale. Quite informative indeed.

  • Great points, Dale. Sure you enjoyed the Drakensberg!

    Happy Digiscoping,

    Albert
