  • that wasn't a sneak pass. =P and i think they will switch to the f-35 lighting II since they could do way more cooler things since its a SLVT (short landing vertical takeoff) jet.

  • @drunkinpainter666 naw the f16 is still one of the most famous planes. plus they dont even make f22's anymore

  • drunkinpainter666 the F22 is VERY expensive and to suggest that the Thunderbird demonstration team use the F22 is absurd! Hell they NEVER even used the F15's.

  • @Truemoderate They don't use the F-15 because it isn't as maneuverable as the F-16. I believe the will eventually use the F-22 to build popularity with it.

  • @JManGuitar5150 It would be absolutely sick if they eventually switched to the F-22.

  • @JManGuitar5150 Nah to expensive.... Way to many man hours to make that thing fly.

  • @JManGuitar5150 they wont, the F22's are too expensive and they lack the amount.. they dont have enough F22's to miss 6 for thunderbirds

  • @JManGuitar5150 During testing, the F-22 proved to be only as maneuverable as the F-16. It had slight advantages at lower speeds, but not at the speeds the Thunderbirds operate at. So it would be a waste of money and true war-fighting technology to switch the F-16s out with a plane that's basically just as maneuverable.

  • @spurlicos82 bad info, man

  • @AwesomeJokes Not entirely. I have a friend that flies for the Air Force and is certified in the F-15, F-16, and F-22. He flew the F-16 until about a year and a half ago, and he'll tell you personally that the F-16 feels smaller and more maneuverable than the F-22, and the weapon systems contribute a lot to what wins the F-22 dog fights during combat simulations against F-16 aggressors. Add to that that the Air Force has stopped F-22 production at 187 units, and we just can't spare 7 or 8.

  • home of the Thunderbirds is Nellis in Nevada my man

  • hell ya Nellis all the way

  • im glad to live in utah, home of the thunderbirds, and all F-16's i get to hear those planes everyday.

  • Utah is not the home of theme birds

  • it's true that the sneak pass gets you every time...i watched their display in Toronto one year for 3 consecutive days and still wasn't ready for it!

  • ur only ready if u have seen there performance alot

  • Wow when did they start doing that? I thought the sneak pass always came on the 2nd diamond transition loop. I don't know if I've ever seen the 4ship do that maneuver either. Damn I need to get to an airshow this year.

  • maybe the harrier for blue angels would be cool to have all six jets land using vecor thrust

  • nahh the harriers too slow and unstable, but the f-35, that would work.

  • besides Navy does not use the Harriers....The Marines get that honor.

  • they were playing angles and airwaves in the background if u listen closely.

  • wow. its like the perfect band and song for air-shows.

  • Looks like the echelon pass distracted the cameraman too...lol!

  • oh..he knew it was coming.. hence how he went right to it after it flew by.. hard to look two places at once

  • thunderbirds sneak pass is way louder then the blue angels cause the f-16 (USAF Thunderbirds) is faster then the f-18 (USN Blue Angels) thats why i want to join the Thunderbirds when i got older i want to be #6

  • Hell ya the T birds are louder than the Blue Angels and actually the T bird's engines are messed with a little bit to give them a little extra umph! Both teams are cool though.

  • yea i like them both to.

  • both of you two are fucking idiots.. plus the engines are not tweaked at all.. same engine in any of the same block F-16s

    wanna know how

    I work on them

  • He's right, they don't modify their engines! They are the same ones that you'll find on combat-ready F-16's around the world.

  • they dont need any modification...

  • Well thank you For that info because ive always been told they were messed with.I saw the T-birds On May 3rd at March Air Force Base.

  • I'm pretty sure they do take a lot of the equipment out of the plane... obviously because they don't need it. i think its because they want the planes a lot lighter, too. i also think they are the oldest f-16s still flying in USAF.

  • I dont know..Im so confused!!!!!!

  • no you dont

  • Cambruda you couldnt be more wrong, the engines are not modified to give that extra umph, the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds are both Airshow groups they really dont need any extra performance from the engines.

  • i like blue angels better and once they flew over my old house dude they were practically doing tricks like on top of us. And i ran out and looked at it

  • I like the Blue's sneak pass better. First time I saw it, I kept my eye on the diamond (I was videotaping too, and only like 12) and then #5 came outta nowhere, the camera shot to the ground and I jumped practically over the fence!

  • haha, saw them at miramar, blues sneaks are too easy to detect

  • thunderbird sneaks are tooo silent and slow

  • that would be scary if a blue angels use 70 thousand pounds of thrust using the same engine the thunderbirds use in a sneak pass, would that be fun enough

  • havent seen it

    so idk

  • perhaps blue angels don't do their sneaks in full afterburner

  • Neat-o. I wish the Thunderbirds would come to WA, though.

  • Very cool!!
