WOW I remember my time there fondly !!, That & Medfield State, The wonderful electrical stimulation was invigorating ! Oh and the friendly men that would bring me my warm white jacket that used to make me hug myself....ohhhh memories ...~lol

nope. it's all being converted into condos but i think they might keep the buildings and just make them condos. i live here in foxboro : (

I was a kid when it was still running.We had a chool bus stop nearby and used to wave to a guy we named Happy.He would sit out on the bench every day and wait on the bus.There was also a large garden area on Mechanic St where the trustees would walk from the hospital to do day work there

Is this place still up? I heard about the plans to make condos there and about the fire a few years ago. Google Maps shows its still there but i dont know how up to date the sat images are

I have done several paranormal investigations in Foxboro recently. Believe me when I say this place is haunted. I have some unbelievable EVP's and pictures of adults and kids, plus a very large black figure.

I grew up in Foxboro and remember the State hospital when it was in operation and later abondoned in the late 1970's. Me and my friends would ride our bikes past the state hospital and sometimes go behind the hospital. There was an old train trestle there and and it was rumored the hospital is haunted. I wish the film makers here videotaped the tunnels that went under the street to the other hospital which is now long gone....The hospital is being converted to office space.

A couple years back some friends and I tried getting into this place, within a minute a cop showed up and we had to bail. They have been tearing most of it down during the past few months.

I hate to repeat cliches, but I have to say that watching this video was really almost like being there. I got a real sense of what the place was like, much more so than I've ever got from the "artsy" photos of Foxborough that you usually see.

That seahorse mobile was pretty cool too.
