i adore Kylie. I have been a fan for almost 20 years. So proud of her. She has made the best songs in my opinion. And we share the same birthday, May 28,1968. She is 12 hours older than me.
Infact she's big in Europe, Asia, Australia, South America, South Africa and parts of the Middle East. And yeah she maybe not be as big in North America but has had some considerable success there so yes she IS a global superstar.
She seems split, torn. She looks like a woman but sings childish lyrics incongruent with the image....and awkward and nervous during the interview.
I'm not sure why she needs to much to 'make it' in america. I think perhaps there is an underlying need to convince herself of her intrisic worth and desirability.
I think the creative fulfilment she is looking for has to come from within, not from success in another mass market, which may only distract her from that search.
I think that she is in fact very aware of her worth and desirability and that has made her strive to become the incredible icon that she is. Im sure her illness drained her both physically and mentally and she realised that she is not infallible, that she is human. Her need to 'make it' in America I think is to prove to herself that she is still top of her game even in the midst of recovering from cancer. The need probably got her through the darkest days of her recovery.

When you get constantly asked about it, it must be draining and she just wants to get on with her life and promote her music. I do think she's private but will always remain down to earth. Madonna can't give an interview to save her life these days and her music sucks now. Whereas Kylie's X is a great piece of work!
Great interview, she's so relaxed and so herself. I think America will never be ready for anyone like Kylie. She's too different for them I guess. I America everyone tries to be different and Kylie just does what she does. That makes her unique. And she does it quite good to be honest.

The thing I find about Kylie is that she seems to be private and doesn't seem to open up about her feelings to the public. She doesn't seem to be sincere abd genuine and real in some way. Her music is great but not much in it regarding her life experience which makes it fall flat as far as longevity is concerned. Americans I think would like their stars to open up about themselves in their craft..anyways just my 2 cents. She looked very stiff when she was interviewed here.
First of all she needs to get In My Arms out everywhere (not just in Europe) and see the album sales rocket. But really she needs to spend about a month in Ameirca alone, promoting like crazy. Spending five days and appearing on three shows just isn't enough!

it's the americans' fault : none of her songs would get airplay since they don't fit in the US radio airplay criteria AC, CHR , Rock or Rhythmic... dance pop would never be played on US radio...so she had 2 do an awful collaboration with US rapper Mims in order to get some recognition over there.....

The album has only managed over 800k worldwide, that's ABYSMAL given the major hype and promotion she's had. It was in the UK bargain bins six weeks after its release and it TANKED in Australia. It's a MEGA FLOP.
why is it where ever you go all the morning show hosts are complete and utter idiots. i felt pain for kylie having to sit through that. this guy is almost as bad as koshie in australia. i swear they must be related.
