@natedaug1 It was a class move, he didn't have to do it. I can't remember any press secretary apologizing for anything. One day the press, no matter where they lean, will realize how he upped the ante for reporters by doing that job. He got them a human room built, vs. the old musty box and he knew the profession. He took a bit of the vulture view from the job.
of course tony snow is a republican like Dee Dee myers (mouthpiece for clinton )was a democrat. You dont see the difference between a presidential appointeee to serve the prez and alledged reporter??? god grow up!
i can't build a foundation for discussion of your quick sand mentality.
I would expect more 'non partisianship' from a the White House spokesperson, (he works for the people, even though he is not elected, we pay his salary), than from a reporter for a news agency. Being the mouthpiece for a bunch of war hawk liars and ultimately compromising yourself really takes it's toll, eh Mr McCllelan? At some point the chickens come home to roost and that's what they did for Scott McCllelan. I regained at least some respect for the man and his principles.
Oh i bet you'd expect it from a Bush white house but from Clinton's Dee Dee Myers I bet you didnt complain once. I know I DIDNT. Her job like Snow's was to provide the press with the perspective of the President. I'm consistant. While your just a sore loser from Gore 2000. That's why no one takes you liberal whiners seriously.
My main problem is with the ACCURACY of what comes out of the White House spokesperson's mouth. NOT the content. Republican or Democrat or whatever, as long as what that person is relating to the public is for the most part TRUE I don't have problem what party they hail from. As far as Dee Dee Myers goes, of course I took issue with some things that came out of the White House.
Get over your 'Liberal' name calling, it's really makes you look like a Freeper clown.
oh so in other words....gregory isnt a reporter to report the news...he's there to decide if we are going over a cliff or not..last time i checked...no one made him judge and jury of national policy...oh by the way, i noticed you didnt dispute what NBC means...interesting
It's impossible for somebody to be COMPLETELY unpartisan. Gregory knows that Bush was getting away with murder and he wanted to pin him down on it. It's called reporting.
As far as your MSNBC quip. I don't get it. I've watched the network and they cover both candidates. If they cover Barack Obama more it may be becasue he's the more exciting and newsworthy of the two.
newtie quit trying to be clever, it isn't working. Journalists are trained to be non-partisan in their profession. They can have their own political feelings but to have respect in that field you need to be seen as non-partisn. That's why Fox has such little respect from the others. The job of the press is to keep government in check by informing our citizens. I challenge you to show one instance of Gregory questioning someone more as a democrat than journalist.
I cant help being clever, myopic liberals like you inspire it.You bush-haters NOW beleive in the purity of the white house press secetrary and not the white house press corps shows how selective you are in your self-righteous indignation.
I bet when your prez obama spouts his agenda through his press mouthpiece you will extol his leadership on crafting an agenda. As for such a disrepected network as Fox, it sure clobbers your network MSNBC in the ratings. Maybe carping sore losers like you wanna whine about Fox News when it doesnt bash Bush-it is partisan when MSNBC (Chris Matthews and David Gregory and Keith olberman do nothing but bash bush - they're objective. How interesting!
newt...expressing an agenda and answering questions about administration actions are two very different things. I do remember Clintons eight years of constant republican accusations that brought constant pressure from the main stream media so quit the bashing only bush whining. Gregory, Mathews and olberman bash everyone who's not doing their job or lies..that happens to be their job. As far as ratings you repos have more of a gang mentality, all together. We prefer to think independently.

Robert Gibbs needs to follow his example and apologize when he is wrong

What I love most is that Mr. Snow said, "I'm sorry FOR what I did."
He didn't give one of those Dick Durbin/Howard Dean/Barack Obama/Hillary or Bill Clinton apologies:
"I'm sorry IF you were offended..."

Stay in your bush-hating MSNBC bubble. It's safer than actually knowing the facts. Gregory is a registered Democrat. Explain that away
newt0830 3 years ago
If Bush hating is a bubble, that bubble is called 'the earth'.
Explain that Gregory is a registered Dem?
Who really cares about that?
Tony Snow is a registered Republican.
You don't really give me alot to work with there.
