  • I dont hear no farts got any with farts in it?

  • I never understood the phrase "jumping the shark." Is it stupid - or am I?

  • @Largo64

That one originated with the 70's TV show "Happy Days". It was a popular show that had run out of stories. When they had the star, "Fonzi", jump a shark on skis, as the cast was "visiting " California - in his leather jacket no less - it was considered the demise of the sitcom.

So if something is said to have "Jumped the Shark" it's in reference to that and is to mean that whatever is being talked about is in serious decline.

  • @bowlingballout Thanks!

  • I like these animated definitions. Keep it up, man. I still think an annotated animated definitions would be a pretty cool idea. Maybe as a special edition or special occasion.

  • I accidentally clicked on some ads. :P

  • hmm, I developed a little story in my mind to incorporate those last 6 words and expressions. It was quite sensational.

  • Awesome as always man!

  • Sooooo ... BBO is also the learning channel! I like it! I'd honestly never heard of this expression before. Kind of funny considering my channel name. But, of course, two different things. ~ Fer

  • Third rail. I'm still unsure if it's also meant to denote severe stupidity. I mean everybody knows to steer clear of the third rail. So when you die (literally or politically) it is basically because you at least dropped 200 IQ points or else you would never have touched said subject.. Or am reaching here?

  • @PuppyZwolle

Good points. I think it would be fair to say that a person that does "touch the third rail" has also earned a nomination for a Darwin Award (I see it being applicable in both literal and political occurrences).

    :D

  • this was funny, but for me educational too.

  • I have learned something today. Usually I try not to do that.
