Thank you for uploading this piece! My favorite from a very special recording: the lute heard and pictured has the oldest playable soundboard, I -believe- dating back to the late 16th century. It was common for Baroque lutenists to have old Renaissance instruments "upgraded" with wider necks and bridges, to suit the ever-deepening range of the Baroque repertoire.
A very skilled player with the lute- but not so much so with the techniques of interpretation. The lute itself has a lovely soft human quality about it that belies the flatly articulated and undilineated way the gestures are tossed out and connected to each other.
This song is so peaceful. I didn't know it was played on the lute - it sounds similar to the guitar - and I've heard of Jakob Lindberg, who has collaborated with Emma Kirkby on some pieces, I believe.

E-Flat is very very difficult on any stinged instrument. Just try some major chords quickly.

Is E-flat as hard a key to play in on the lute as it is on the guitar?

I love this song! It reminds me of the renaissance.

@buttaflystar91 Weiss is the lute's swan song of the late Baroque. He was a contemporary of J.S. Bach.
