@BigThickHardD: Estrogen has nothing to do with it. If that were the case, then every woman on birth control pills would be lactating. An extra chromosome won't do it either. Having an extra chromosome causes a birth defect called trisomy, the most common being Trisomy 21 (aka Down Syndrome). Milk is produced as a result of the hormone prolactin, present both in men & women. So in theory men CAN breastfeed, tho idk why they would, unless the mom died & they still wanted breastmilk for the baby.

I think it is very interesting. I also think it's weird that people seem to not believe this is true. It is very true. Infant males and some males going through puberty lactate also, so why can't an adult male lactate when it is needed for a child?
