It's a Visual Novel ... just as homemdalha said. It's a genre only found in Japan. Basically, take your graphic novel in the west, but animate it into an interactive package. Many of these types of games also have various endings dependent on the kinds of choices you make in the game. Closest analogy to this in the west would be those "Choose Your Own Adventure" books.

@will199186 nope. Closest is Disgaea Infinite. I wish Gallery Fake would have though since it had some Phoenix Wright type gameplay. Also Death Note Kira Game for Nintendo DS. that woulda been cool. Also that Haruh PSP fan translation is taking forever.

@Feijoada1 Well, what I meant doesn't mean all VN. Compare to TW or China, NA here really got only a few translated officially, so is the Fan translation. Haruhi? You mean the Haruhi game that was released several years ago? Seriously, its story suks in every ways, I played the Mandarin version, so yea.

@Feijoada1 Well, there are several endings, which I only played a few. It's just like a normal School Life story. Some endings with LOVE or the End of the WORLD. There are quite a lot SMALL GAMES inside, you may find it interesting, but I find it quite boring. The game system itself is quite good, but perhaps, in my point of view, i dont like the story.

@TengenToppaDrill The whole problem of release VN into English, is the market. Not too many people in NA or English countries actually play, compare to Asian areas. So the market is small, therefore, there is no profit and benefits translating it if the company doesn't earn. Perhaps, it would be released in about ten years...so either learn Japanese or wait for it

@will199186 I know mate... I am slowly (very slowly) learning japanese myself so I wont need translations. But for STEINS;GATE I'm hoping at least SOMEONE translates it. Not speaking of the PSP version... I'm more for the PC version.

Hoping for an Umineko VN PS3 english version too... but someone is already working on patching the PC Umineko4 with the PS3 sprites and Voices etc.

@TengenToppaDrill That is even harder for PC=.=....

There are lots of bugs in PC Version, even if u use the patch. According to the Mandarin Version Fan Translation team, they gave up on PC due to the anti-download wall (something like that) and too many bugs. Even the original company (5pb) said that moving the game to PSP is a lot easier than PC...well, good luck, I already finished the game (Mandarin Ver).

That is good. Umineko is good VN, if not counting Ep 8 as a whole serie of it.

@AudioCorps They should make a visual novel thats complete motion portrait and marries the old school cinematic gamepla of Yu Yu Hakusho Tokubetuhen or Zenki (SFC) or Battle Heat for PC Engine. That way you have VN stuff plus gameplay

@allenallenallen333 well looking at the title... "PSP - blah blah" tells me its propably a game and yet, trailer didn't told me anything after watching. Not everyone knows what a STEINS GATE might be, and i don't really feel like googling it. It looks like a intro to some kind of Visual Novel or something like that..
