  • great song! does sound like purple

  • Einer der besten Songs! 4th of July ist noch besser ;-)

  • I just rediscovered Sweet and I'm so impressed. I was in to them in the late 80s (early 90s?) because of all things, Frigging Waynes World :).As a musician (not a pro) I am wowed by everything, vocals, guitar, bass riffs, drumming, song writing. Just check out Cockroach for some incredible musicianship!

During the instrumental part (3:17 or so) you hear a very strong resemblance to 2012 Overture by Rush (Right before the priests of whatever part).

  • In my personal, and just in my personal view, the singer from the new "Sweet" band sings .. I mean his voice is for some other type of music not Sweet´s. Yes, this sounds like Deep Purple because of the voice, mixture of Blackmore and Gilan.

  • You know what? That also came to my mind. Interessting thought.

  • Wow you are right...dam where is my lighter <:)

  • This is a demo version without all vocal harmonies in the chorus etc. The full originally released version is on the album called 'Off The Record'

  • absoloutley amazing... my dad listened to these guys when he was 8! im now continuing his legacy at age 16 with vinyl records! :D

  • i like the intro, but the song is rocking too!

  • schlechter einfluss war ich für alle kinder , 1. klasse , 20 taten und danach war es noch schlimmer

  • Great Drums and Guitars from the best drummer and guitarist ever! Mick Tucker and Andy Scott!

  • My Woman from Tokyo riff

  • righty right !

  • Yes. Except it was done before My Woman from Tokyo

  • Woman from Tokyo was recorded in 1972 and came out in 1973. Off the Record was released in 1977, not sure if it was recorded in 1977 or 1976.

The riff is certainly inspired my Woman from Tokyo.

  • For sure it is based on Woman from Tokyo.... however, Ian Gillan sang with Wainwright's Gentlemen with Mick Tucker on drums before both Deep Purple OR The Sweet were even thought of. When Gillan left WG, he was replaced by Brian Connolly.... maybe, just maybe, the riff originated with Wainwright's Gentlemen? Just a thought....

  • hahah so true!

  • This is a rehearsal of track Windy City for the Level Headed Tour of 1978. Windy City is an album track from Sweet's 1977 album "Off The Record". Alfred (fountain on HSH).

  • supra

  • This song is..sweet...lol

  • Great song

  • Raw version of a legendary song. This demo was was recorded in one take... a testament of how great these rock masters were. Long live the Mighty SWEET!

  • the best band ever ;as sweet is touring here and i must see them. but i am gone miss Brian

  • awesome

  • sweet were just great musicians and singers as well as a really attractive band...they had it all.....(BTW im a guy)

  • Oh I don't know. Fox on the Run did pretty well in the States

  • fox on the run, Lost Angels, Burn on the flame, Love is like Oxygen, Sweet FA, Action, says they were and are pretty good without Chinn and Chpaman, whom the basically outgrew.

  • i met andy scott and his band,

my band was the warm up band for them in a private party

  • I saw Brian sing this in Newcastle when supporting Pat Benatar about 1982. Class.

  • Now I'm a rich man!!!

  • i'll get my kicks from giving it all away.

  • OH-HELL YEAH!!! Great stuff-I envy your editing skills. I'm just starting to get how to do all this stuff. Inspirational-I am putting this CD on my list of MUST HAVES!!! Please more!! I afraid this is turning into a mental illness.

  • Turning INTO a mental illness??!? Wouldn't this have to assume that you were ummm 'normal' before?? *ROTFLOL* =) Now how can I bunch of us... ahem 'middle age' women who hang out online watching Sweet videos be right? *grin* It's like my Husband always tells me... 'I'll be okay, but I ain't NEVER gonna be right!' =D Remember that movie 'Young (insert accent here) Fronkensteen'? Maybe we're all named Abbey...

  • LOL, or Sybil. No I could have never predicted I'd be a middle-age gal watching Sweet stuff on youtube, and I have never once in my life been normal!! Its as they say on Mad TV - a whole, nutha, level!! XD
