  • Silvio Dante rocks :D

  • forever,,,the clash

  • Shit, this is already 9 years old.

  • Dave Grohl and Bruce Springsteen, my two favorite men, performing together? No words.

  • FUCK ELVIS COSTELLO.

  • bass is too quiet

  • awesome cover of this song, legend bruce

  • Bruce rules...

  • And Elvis Costello!? HOLY SHIT!

  • rip joe legend.

  • Dear all,

I am 14 years old. I would like to apologise about my generation's shitty music.

Sincerely, a kid with a good taste in music

  • @Majora99 YOUR NOT ALONE! :D -15, scotland :)

  • ...a tribute well worth of the Heroes who sang it...

  • the one with the bandana is Steve van Zandt, who is Silvio Dante in The Soprano's tv show!

  • We miss you, Joe

  • joe would be proud

  • Love the standing ovation at the end- except from the R&B/rap section! Do they actually seat them by genre? :)

  • To all you people complaining about a lineup like that. Here's a quote from Joe Strummer himself: "Bruce is great. If you don't agree with that, you're a pretentious martian".

  • @AngelaCarton joe may have liked bruce springsteen, but this is not what the clash or joe strummer were about.this sucks, they ruined a great song and elvis costello should be ashamed for been part of it.

  • @nignogs they're paying homage to a great artist by performing one of his songs. for all he stood for joe would have been humbled and greatful, seeing people that admire him and have been influenced by him.

  • Elvis Costello played his protest song Radio Radio on SNL in 1977 against Lorne Michaels's order not to, then got banned from the show for a decade. Bruce Springsteen has a political edge to a lot of his songs under his mostly pop/blues sound. I can't speak for Grohl and Van Zandt, but at least Springsteen and Costello belong in that lineup.

  • Sorry to rain on everyone's parade, as I'm usually overwhelmingly positive, but I gotta criticize.

This is an overblown performance on an awards show that ANNUALLY kills everything people like Uncle Joe stood for. The grammies are overpriced music, pretentious celebrities, mind-blowing pomposity. Million-dollar sponsors, a COMPLETE disconnect with regular folks...

This is 4 millionaires claiming they identified with a man who was one of us until the day he died. Love you, Uncle Joe. Miss you.

  • @Krakshot

Agree with the Grammies sentiment but disagree with the sentiment about the intentions of the artists on stage. To be honest....I don't really know too much about the political leanings of Grohl, Costello and Van Zandt but Springsteen has always stood up for alof of what Joe Strummer sang about. The key difference is that Springsteen has just sold more records as his career has spanned many more years.

  • sorry but thats awful ...too many cooks spoil the broth

  • that's tony kanal from no doubt playing bass!

  • Great. Awesome. Stunning.

  • A nuclear error, but I have no FEAR.! :D

  • The man who cut 'I'm so tired with the USA' now has his best song performed entirely by American musicians-_-

  • @mrc560 Elvis Costello is the greatest American musician since John Lennon.

  • Dave Grohl straightened his hair...nice :P

  • DAVE FUCKING GROHL :D

  • Holy Crap that was 3P¡C

  • Silvio Dante ma fuckers!!!!!!!

  • we play london calling before every match and the clash come from notting hill and half of the clash supported qpr

  • @glasvegas44 What the fuck are you talking about, Willis?

  • "Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in!"

  • what a tribute

  • QPR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @glasvegas44 Queen's Park Rangers?

  • Good thing about social media is seeing great musicians doing things like this together and being able to see it. Bad thing about social media is unfortunately opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and man, there are alot of assholes out there..

  • Why listen to this when the original is all over Youtube?

  • NICE ONE, great song

  • That Bruce should cover I'm so Bored with the U.S.A...

  • this is awesome

  • shuda put grohl on the drums but still given him a mic

  • ... and Elvis Costello.

  • @ojbyrne the best

  • OH GO D ERIC KEATING IN NEED U TO LOVE THIS'

  • I kept waiting for Springsteen to blow up! The dude gets way into his performances. If you're convinced everyone else is lip-synching I recommend watching The Boss cuz he puts his soul into his music unlike anyone I've ever seen.

Oh and at the end is the announcer the same guy from Letterman?

  • These guys slayed this song, They did great.

  • bruce is the best

  • Joe would have hated it, but, loved it, because it got and still gets people talking. Joe was political, but not in an obnoxious way, just always wanting to make people aware of our lives, and how it is up to us to change if we dont like it!!!!!!!! Joe is my hero!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Not sure what I thik about all those guys doign London Calling, but seeing JEan Beavour in the back there on bass is awesome! :)

  • that does not look like dave grohl

  • i dont undertsand wat the guy from foo fighters is doing there

  • @rockisbetter He was also the drummer for the greatest American band of all time

  • @rockisbetter Dave Grohl has played with many musicians than you've had girlfriends kiddo. He's a legend.

  • @rockisbetter Better do some homework on " the guy from the Foo fighters"

  • @rockisbetter Really? That guy from the foo fighters, David Grohl, drummer from Nirvana? Played with John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page, Josh Home, Tenacious D and numerous others. A rather legendary musician in his own time. Best to keep your mouth closed and be thought an idiot than to open it and remove any doubt.

  • Silvo's gonna kick the ass of anyone who dislikes this lol

  • wow great !

    what year it was?

  • fuck this, i thought it was dave grohl AND the clash, none of these are the clash, calling your video this is misleading

  • Comment removed

  • @funkysteveve.....if you thought dave grohl was playing with the clash then you're more a dick than i could have imagined. get help.

  • this is shit. pure hog shit. joe must be rolling in his grave...

  • @mancheromanchero Bruce was friends with Joe and Joe liked Nirvana.

  • @mancheromanchero wow man...chill. it's Dave Grohl and Bruce Springstein

  • @specialfx34 Or, you know, you lay down in your casket and don't move a single bone.

  • did it sound like steve was singing with a british accent?

  • @specialfx34 Except when Grohl opens his mouthhole.

  • Some solo 'Lil Steve!!

  • PBRF (w) NYC ttt 1845s oo

  • The Clash is a punk band right??

  • @fredsassy5 Yes

  • @fredsassy5 a punk gathering of gods more like

  • that sliding panel doesnt know wat hes missed

  • Thats just awesome. and the multiple accents really make it awesome. The clash version is better, but this is a truly great way to remember the most influential musician ever

  • @specialfx34 Great!!

  • crap

  • Comment removed

  • Not too bad

  • such an epic song

  • Fuck me you guys are stupid, here's a line up of top notch artists that wants to pay respect to a great musician that was taken away from us and his family way to early, and you can't see the good in it.... who the fuck do you expect will play in Paul McCartney's funeral.. Chuck Berry??

I think you all missed the opening line of the number...... THIS IS FOR JOEEEE !!!

    Now STFU!!

  • @bomullspinner well said.,

    bronx66

  • @bomullspinner you are fuckin stupid!!!!!!!!!

  • @athina711

Ditto, at least my comment meant something, yours only mirrored back at you !!

  • @bomullspinner

Absolutely. There's just alot of idiots out there trying to provoke a response.

First time i've seen this. It's fucking superb and a great tribute from 4 legends.

  • @tonypap1 How could anyone say a word about this !!!! I think its awesome they did this! RIP strummer!

  • I love Bruce Springsteen. I love The Clash. And I love Fender Telecaster

  • fucking awful

  • Murder- you should change the title- the clash aren't in this 'line-up'

  • I little steven vanzandt! So cute! They're all such hot rockers man. Never would have put these guys together ever but it's great!

  • In many ways the quality of music represents the quality of the culture it's created in. That music has pretty much died and we are being spoon fed 4th tier hip hop and garbage rock music tells me that the West is in decline. It was a good run, brothers and sisters - but we're falling and hard !

  • @pbrlimit Elvis Costello was around at the same time as Joe and the lads and then as now is bout everything the Clash stood against. The token English artist in the line-up and no SImmo, no Mick... even Dave Grohl looks like a throw back from ´72... it's like punk never was.

  • @pbrlimit shitty music has always existed, get your head out of your ass. This period is no better or worse than any other period for music.

  • @sittingontherooftop absolutely well said

  • ...and Elvis Costello

  • 4 legend's 1 stage, and a tune! :)

  • Are you listening to your people Mr Cameron ?

  • why isn't Costello mentioned in the title? Springsteen sucks.

  • @rtt470 ~ idiot

  • @tynebar why? He does. He's overrated. Can't sing. Just wants to push his liberal agenda and he's a tax cheat, asshat.

  • @rtt470 "Liberal Agenda" = Joe Strummer, one of the most left wing and liberal people ever. Go back and re-learn politics, Joe's political beliefs and the Clash's messages were one of the great reasons why they are were (and are) the only band that matters.

  • HTF can 131 people not like this??? Amazing!

  • im ready to die now

  • this is proper dead

  • incredible ...! The Boss and Elvis & Little Steven .... do their best Strummer and Jones .

. one for the ages ... a million thanks to who ever posted this GEM

  • this is awesome

  • @specialfx34 Well, unless you're dead, that is.

  • An over 50 crowd. Interesting

  • STREPITOSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO>>>????>>>??

  • I clearly remenber this day, when I saw on television, here on Brazil the Grammy, didn't agree with ''best album to FF'',deservedwent to SOAD and about this was wonderful ,i remenber that Norah Jones was the artist that gotmore grammys6,i guess and No doubt get one of best Pop/rock group .

  • elvis is a joke

  • Great song but an audience full of hipocrites, Joe would turn in his grave seeing them cunts clapping with their crocodile smiles. Every one on that stage is a legend though

  • @panicbolt73 Why are you taking a dig at the audience they're just having a good time, wouldn't you if you were watching that line-up?

  • R.I.P Joe, you are missed

  • @specialfx34 Yeah...a bunch of has-beens.

  • What is No Doubt?

  • Too bad they didn't have Brian Setzer perform as well...Strummer and Setzer wrote tunes together, and Setzer is a ridiculous talent...

  • Not to mention No Doubt's Bass player. Dunno his name.

This is one fucking insane lineup to honor Strummer. Damn nice

  • wow this is amazing they got dave grohl bruce springsteen stevie van zandt elvis costello and tony kanal i would like to know who the drummer is though

  • @asthecityburnswerise Thats Pete Thomas from Costello's band.

  • @RebelThoughts oh cool thanks for the info

  • @asthecityburnswerise I think it looks like Lars Ulrich, though you never get much of a look at him.

  • Hey, there's Elvis Costello too ¬¬

  • 129 people had an answering machine on when London called

  • Normally tributes with this much firepower sound kind of less than spectacular, but these guys all kept to the true feel of the song, totally amazing. I'm sure I'll watch this one a bunch more. Very nice upload.

  • Elvis Costello, Dave Grohl, The Boss and Bono! What i line up!

  • @Mongo2451 Bono isn't there :| Its Elvis Costello, Dave Grohl, The Boss and Steve Van Zandt.

  • @Mongo2451 Where's Bono in this?

  • one man woulda have made this even better. Robbie Williams :)

  • @Trentino8

    go shoot yourself.+

  • @QuikWire lovers gonna love

  • @Trentino8

shame your parents dont love you.

  • @QuikWire its a new episode of NCIS

  • the crap

  • where's derek? they could have had a quadrangle of c r a p.

  • you cant even say h e l l.

  • f u c k i n g hell. CRAPOLA to the max!

  • Where the fuck was this filmed? Who are all those suits?

  • @AlwaysFirstGuy and David Bowie!

  • This song was always played by a german Channel , which showed the CL matches with Schalke 04 ! :D

  • What about elvis costello?

  • @napoleon503 Yeah it was, really surprised that wasn't in the info

  • THE ONLY BAND THAT MATTERS!!!!!!!

  • goosebumps at 2:33 -2:48 cameraman really captured a great moment.

  • @TheReverendRaver you probably already know this, but he was in the e street band before he was mr dante

  • who's the drummer?

  • Once, in Spain, Bruce said that The Clash were the best band around.

(of course, hes an artist solo)

    Respect.

  • YOU JUST BLEW MY MIND IN EVERY DIRECTION

  • Booooooo!

  • The Clash? Huh?

  • "and after all this, why don't you give me a smile" Classic.

  • Ah, the days when Dave would favour that HIDEOUS Ampeg guitar.

  • to transisterrevolt1999, what are you talking about?

  • Is that Tony Kanal (from NoDoubt) on bass?!

  • @niski85 OK i got it figured out, the lineup is:

Costello + his drummer Pete Thomas, Dave, Bruce, Stevie Van Zandt and Tony Kanal on bass.

  • @certainpattern the guy from bruce's band stole the show, cua he's been the bruce's guitarra for so many years, before sopranos

  • You forgot Elvis Costello in the title

  • this is amazing

  • Why is Elvis Costello's participation not mentioned here?

  • Bruce Springsteen vs Jack Johnson: Who's better?

  • Who's better; Bruce or Jason Mraz?

  • @KleWdSide Is that even a question?

  • All the clowns knocking Bruce here really expose themselves as idiots. As much as The Clash was a really great add to the music scene in the late 70's, they only had a 5 year shelf life and no one cared anymore. What Bruce does is bring people back to their music. He is not trying to recreate history, he is trying to get people to visit it. Wake up everybody.

  • Walk off the stage with Guitars feeding back as if to say "This is my signature" Completely unexpected for a upscale "Don`t disturb the peace" award show, no wonder half the crowd looks stunned.

  • Cringefest.

  • where are the clash exactly? can't see mick, joe or anyone

  • How come nobody's saying anything Tony Kanal? Out of all the guys on stage he's best at his instrument.

  • ELVIS COSTELLO HELL YEAH

  • Awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that cant be dave grohl

  • @drumguy1022 lol it quite clearly is? have you seen the all my life video? its just after that vdeo, hes using the same guitar as in the video

  • Can't help but feel this was the wrong audience to play that track to. Not one single person looks like they were pogoing before the camera turned on them. :/

  • Daves better than this

  • Quite sure thats Elvis Costello one of the greatest lyricists in the history of music why isnt he mentioned in the description at the least???

  • lol they're all trying to sing with a cockney accent.

  • WHAT I WOULD GIVE TO BE APART OF THIS!!!!!!!!

  • For all of you who criticize Bruce or anyone about a remembrance gig, I suggest understanding that's all this is"This one's for Joe". Bruce isn't promoting the Clash. he is wise enough and respectful enough to know that THE CLASH, needs no promotion. The Clash isn't about melody,

    The Clash is about attitude!

  • @Justaboutfootball I agree. Who would criticize the Boss? I hope when I die he brings Dave Grohl and Elvis Costello to sing my songs. Little Steven can come along to peel off some awesome riffs.
