  • 5 people need another number!

  • I love how they always introduce themselves as "The Cribs from Wakefield" awesome:)

  • Ryan is a completely underrated guitar genius

  • I miss the cribs rivalry they had going with that Borrell wanker from Radioshite

  • this band is what I live for!

  • i wish they still played the wrong way to be :(

  • Best UK band for me, have been for 6 yrs now. Good stuff :)

  • epic band

  • i love this video

  • fucking LOOOVE seen em live at last

    perfect band

  • theyre real drunk

  • refreshment .

  • one of the most unique i've ever heard

  • the wrong way to be here sounds better fast tempo

  • i always thought the subject matter of hey scensters was just a tad ironic haha. great band though, probably the best in england for awhile

  • these guys are perfect

  • i love the cribs seeing them in leamington in october 1500 crowd should be immence!!!!!!!

  • But seriously, the Cribs are awesome!

  • "the cirbs will never be forgotten" HAHAHA :D

  • ive just realised these guys dont really sing but to be frank i still love em :D

  • i think they do sing, they sing live normally so they should be singing live here,

    :)

    x

  • not literally i mean like its a differnt type of singing ;)

  • It something about them that makes them soo perfect.

  • Comment removed

  • You are a moron. Not only are Metallica overblown, corporate, stadium rock dickheads but you go on to make homophobic/chauvanist comments.

People like you should be taken out back and shot.

  • I don't think technical ability is necessarily a part of good artistry, I think that's pretty poor judgement. I could sing really fast but it wouldn't make it sound good.

Anyway, I think the whole idea of rock stars is pretty degenerative anyway. I want someone I can relate to, not some arrogant superstar. If you don't understand that I feel sorry for you.

  • you obviously know nothing of metallica then, to make the judgement that they cant be related to.

Now dont get me wrong, i love the cribs i mean, i have all thier CD's and shit, but you cannot compare them to metallica, after all they have achieved and everything the members of metallica have been through

  • I find them very hard to relate to because they indulge in so much of what I dislike about music. I find their bloated sense of self very unappealing. Take Lars Ulrich for example; his head is stuck well and truely up his own arse, his holier than thou attitude really grates on me. The world really doesn't need rock stars...

  • the cirbs will never be forgotten, the real fans of the cribs will never forget them and thiers a lot of them, metalica are good within thier genre but thiers no point you writing comments like that putting the cribs down, if you dont like them why watch the vids, its not like what you have to say is relevant anyway

  • true

  • i know i wont forget the cribs first time i heard um i thought so original and awsome

  • @r0b8ie91

you're a dick, this was the cribs packing out reading main stage 4 years ago and they were back doing the same this year, they're not about to be forgotten. metallica are far from perfection. the cribs have kept it fresh since the day they started.

  • What does the security gueard give him at the end?

  • Bassist is a better singer, in my opinion anyway

  • Yeah I agree,

but like the way Ryan sings aswell.

  • They really don't need Johnny Marr.

  • Yeah, but its a good addition

  • yeah but think about it if its true that things can only get better look at them here the amazing right ? so an extra addition just seetens the vibes :)

  • I was here for this and it was great.

  • forgot how in love am with this ahhh

    AMAZING

  • its not the end you pricks!

  • love to see them live best band of all time a bit different from all the other bands and that what makes them so good

  • I saw em in Germany few months ago, im from Scarborough so i was obliged to start shouting Yorkshire repeatedly. I dunno if they heard but they did seem to have a confused look in my direction. awesome gig.

  • that made me laugh :)

  • beacause a guy i use to noooooooooooooooooooo

  • and whats the meaning of scenesters?

  • scenesters are people who put on an act just to fit into the latest fashion. example my chemical romance start to become big and loads of posh kids are aparently emos and talk about slashing their wrists etc, its just a rant at the fakes that just follow trends. hope that helps :)

  • thanks !

  • Its not really an attack on emos.. More on those who follow fashion fads. Its more in the direction of Indie Scenesters..

  • a scenester is someone who follows the latest trend

eg latest trend emo, loads of scenester emos

    basically twats

  • I think it refers to something far broader than clothes based fashion. Also the rise of a brand of generic Indie that developed through 2004-2005, while Leeds and many Leeds based bands made a name for themselves in this way, The Cribs stayed away from all this remained relatively underground until the release of 'Men's Needs, ....'. So it's about following musical trend as well rather than being true to yourself, you van here reference to this in 'Mirror Kisses' and 'Martell'

  • I wouldnt say it was many leeds based bands. The only below average band from Leeds is maybe The Pigeon Detectives. Kaiser Chiefs' first album was good and quite original to be fair. Like idneklk said a scenester is someone who folows the latest trends, skinny jeans & indie etc eg Pigeon Detectives and The Kooks.

There is loads more bands from Leeds that r pretty good and arent your average 'scenester' band and thats the reason why they aren't well known because they refuse to b 'scenesters'

  • Pigeon Detectives aren't really bellow average and they're hardly following the latest trends they dress exactly the same way they always have done. x

  • iLIKETRAINS, iForward Russia!, One NIght Only. If I had more time, I'd list more. But the point isn't about making average music, its about hanging in certain haunts, wearing certain clothes, just acting in a way that gets you noticed thats not the music. Personally I have no problem with such things, but 'The Cribs' are purists and their is no stunts, no marketing. Just the music and a hectic tour scehdule that'd put 'The Buzzcocks' to shame. You gotta love it!

  • This is also why 'The Cribs' identify themselves so closely with Wakefield, where other bands always try to associate themselves with the nearest big city

  • idnekl legendary comment basically twats

  • @idnekl and you dont think that there are indie kids out there that dress just like members of the cribs to look cool? O-o???

  • @TheHarwin123 irony, you must learn it

  • ah, i'm from the states and the cribs are definitely one of my top bands

  • yorkshire! yorkshire! yorkshire

  • WAKEFIELD! WAKEFIELD! WAKEFIELD!

  • well said!

  • gonna be shouting that when i seem em next friday at leeds fest :)))))))))

  • he sez its not over yet you pricks lol

  • without doubt, the best video on youtube

  • what does ryan say at the end of hey scensters?

hey says "you prick" at the end but whats the whole scentence?

  • Something like, "it's not the end you pricks", I think?

  • it's cheers lol

    with the accent "cheersa"

  • Yeah 'It's not the end you pricks'.

He says on the CD aswell, if you listen carefully.

  • I dunno why, but i love ryans voice

  • i think they had a bit to much to drink at the end song lol

    class tho

    xx

  • "if that sign stops blowin about you can see"

    ryans voice is so ace

  • i think they is a bit pissed ahaha :D i love the cribs live well fun!!!

  • anyone else notice the security woman mistakes ryan for a member of the crowd and he has to turn round like "i'm in the band" lol

    best band ever

  • I love these guys!

    Absolutly Amazing

I love Gary's Bass Guitar as well

  • Happy memories of that day. Ryan's bloody right about the mainstream attitudes of "indie" bands.

I believe Gary has moved to Portland, Ryan and Ross have remained in Wakefield.

  • Portland, USA?

  • Moved there from Wakefield didn't they?

  • no just gary did :)

  • Ahhh.. I'm not too great on the Cribs really, just the last couple of days I got all their albums, and they're just brilliant. Make great sounds for a 3-piece.

  • Guess what man, Im seeing them 6th feb at Birmingham Carling Acad!!

  • haha class mate

shall tlk about it after ?

we can compare gig stories hahaha

  • Yeah sure! What date are you going and where (I forgot :P)?

  • 3rd ov feb newcastle

  • Ahhh right! Is it for NME tour yeah? Mine is.

  • yeah

  • what an intelligent, constructive and well thought out comment.

i hope your life vastly improves from watching videos of bands you don't like and posting negative comments in order to try and get a responce.

  • The Cribs are a rare, meaningful glimmer in an ocean of indie bands. Yes, they are influenced greatly by Sonic Youh but they have developed a somewhat different sound, filled with much different lyrics.

If I wanted to get picky, I would tell you that the word "it's" contains an apostrophe, of course though that would clearly show that I was losing the argument and desperately trying to maintain an ounce of credibility.

  • oi fucking nobhead cribs are ace you tosser ill bang you out

  • u sound like a ding

the cribs are probably the total opposite of you

  • HAHA SHAME! bradhtfc fucking told you you twat

  • told me?

    erm.

    ok then =).

  • Truth Devours was giving it all that, correcting a spelling mistake and then you picked up on his grammar.. I thought it was funny

  • oh right.

    thanks =).

i thought you were calling me the twat...

    apologies.

  • There are rumours of a festival in Wakefield fully supported by the Cribs! It's time to give them a headline slot!

  • why have they moved to portland then??? They don't even live in wakefield anymore

  • i thought only ryan and gary moved,is ross not still in Wakefield?

  • ooh ok thanks because is one of the best songs i ever listen

  • another number is a song original from the cribs???¿¿

  • Whats the second song they play???

  • awesome!

  • did they only play 3 songs? probably a silly question but they might not have broadcast the rest, shame I didnt like/know the cribs at Leeds 06 :(
