one of the greatest concerts I've ever seen was RTF '76 "Romantic Warrior" Tour, no opening band, 2 sets, 1 electric & 1 acoustic. I thought I might learn some things watching Al D. on guitar, but he was so fast his hands were a blur!
@taariqtaariq I watched these boys in 1975 in San Diego! They've been together that long and I have been closely watching Chick since 1973. When did you start to dig them?
@durgaaa I have liked RTF since the 1st LP which is subtle and latin influenced. I have been listening to Chic Corea and jazz & jazz rock in general since I was in my early 20's so that makes it 20 years ago now.
al still has that awesome ugly tone and that lameass picking technique that made him alegend.if u know shit about guitar u would not slam al.get some meds for your brain delusions.the list is short of those ahead of al
@gmdinformation, that was a silly statement. You're comparing apples and oranges, while Dixie Dregs and Jeff Beck are great I wouldn't say they are necessarily better than RTF or Passport or Weather Report or Mahavishnu Orchestra or Zappa or Miles or Herbie or Brand X... It just makes you sound like you're the one who "ain't been around"

for me RTF always was the second best fusion group ever - after Mahavishnu- but this piece from earlier times is extraordinary good. The studio version had Bill Connors on guitar. Love both versions.
this is to me the new universal genre of the 1900s, moving away from old classicals to the new classicals, really exciting, layers upon layers, fast and intriguing, melodic, its has got it all in truck loads, it trully is the rtf,
The camera settings really pisses me of. You don't see Al Di Meolas or Stanley Clarke fingers in a perfect perspective when they are playing solo on the whole DVD. The men that are filming this are probably used to taking pictures of Britney Spears and not a concert for people with interest in instruments. But its a great concert :-)
I don't mean to advertise but if you like these guys you might enjoy RMS...which just happens to be nowhere on youtube except my channel. If you do watch any of them look at Juna the Last.
well...all i can say is that i'm really glad i didn't bought this DVD right away as i planned.....
for the newcomers, don't judge Lenny White for this performace alone, he WAS one of the most amazing, grooviest, breathtaking drummers ever, in the 70's.
Wow..I hope Lekezen lives in another country .. Dude get over it or move to Iran or something, I wouldn't wish his form of insanity on anyone..Eagle what a valuable contribution. Thank you!
I understand Al was 15 when he first joined the band..imagine that, playing with Chick and Stanley. DAMN I wish I'd have known they were in Clearwater, they certainly would have earned my money.
@eaglerocktv wow i see what you mean. i never really made a connection to eagle tv being american, it's to do with the video quality right? like eagle eyes etc

you as long as you fuck us up with your cameleonistic radical american EAGLE-shit!
Who needs you here but YOURSELF?
YOU KNOW THAT ANSWER!

Woah! A bit angry maybe? Eagle Rock / Eagle Vision is actually based in the UK, so slightly off the mark there, but full marks for trying.
No-one needs me here, but a lot of people seem to like us being here.
Unlucky man, you'll have to fight the good fight elsewhere.
Peace bro.
