  • This looks WICKED

  • it looks like darth vader's helmet

  • Crye Precision Spartan or Airframe helmet with Chops and/or one of the helmets from Ops-Core >>>> this pathetic garbage

Stop wasting money developing this trash that will go nowhere and just buy off the shelf chit from the companies I mentioned.

  • 2:20 what kinda sight is that??

  • Why can't we just be issued ACH-style helmets, but to Canadian ballistics standards? ACH helmets are much more ergonomic than these cumbersome oversized egg halves; we've got to either keep the CG634's, or be issued ACH's/LWH's.

  • I like it, besides the giant chin. Whatever works.

  • how is it stupid i would love if canada gets that so we can have are OWN helmets and people would be like o look Canadians are over there instead of have the standard us helmets like common i want my own helmet that simples im from canada even though it may sound stupid or look it but i docent i look something from saw and i love it. like if agree :)

  • @TheLiamom - Dude, the current-issued helmets (CG634) are Canadian inventions. We don't use US-issued helmets, even though they do look slightly similar. But I do see where you're coming from.

  • @TheLiamom The CF helmet is based off of a French helmet. And that french helmet along with pretty much every other modern helmet is based off the German WW1/WW2 Helmet

  • loving the canadian Research and development... invest invest!!

  • The Military needs to look at some video games. I know yeah video games not real etc... but Take Halo for example, ODST's Try and get that helmet or it's armor. (i'm really saying replace this weird helmet with an ODST helmet from Halo)

  • I like it. Looks cool. And functional.

  • These look they are going to be a pain in the ass to carry around when not being worn.

  • I don't know why Canada ALWAYS has to have different peices of gear than any other country. Why do the troops NEED a pull down visor? sure it fully covers your eyes better but the normal ballistic glasses were doing pretty good. Why a chin guard? EVERYTHING about this helmet seemed to be near least accesible as possible. the visor mount needs to be removed to put NVG's on... They frankly shoud just use the ACH or the UK's kind of helmet, instead it looks just like more lbs for them.

  • chinguard looks kinda pointless because anything that would hit there would most likely just deflect down into your neck

  • Spartans! I could these useful for certain applications.

  • thats fantastic, not only it looks sci-fi but it protects the mandible too, lets go canada

  • @CanadianArmyNews What is the progress of this new headgear?

  • what is the deal with the holo sight at 2:22?

  • cheek weld issues with mandible protector for sure

  • @freewilly2fly lol not unless they change the buttstocks hahaha

  • @freewilly2fly That's why they used that weird mount for the EOTech at 2:20

  • I honestly think the only thing that needed improvement was the protection on the sides and rear; as our helmets are more of a dome than a head protector. These chin guards look uncomfortable and inefficient.

  • that helmet looks fucking stupid. not saying that style is more important then efficiently and safety but come on.

  • So are these going to be standard or is this just a test.

  • @CanadianPatriots1867 Most likely if the test is succesful they might become standered

  • What's their armory completion percent? (Halo Reach) :D

  • that thing that goes around your chin looks like it would be annoying

  • the look is so sleek and futuristic, but i want to know the feedback as well

  • at the end the part where a solider was shooting and the eo tech sight was mounted, it looked so stupid

  • Wow, I wonder what kind of feedback these are getting.

  • Oh my...

  • why does that soldier in 2:20 have his 552 aimed to the side?

  • At 2:22, did they mount the sight like that because the mandible guard interfered with looking down it?

  • I'm surprised it took this long to put the mandible idea through R&D. The samurai armor typically had something called mengu (face armor) which included yodare-kake which was a throat guard comprised of metal or leather strips, or chain armor.

We're pulling armor ideas that have been around for at least 16 centuries. This to me is hilarious.

  • it looks.... odd

  • how much one of these bad boys cost?

  • were can i buy one seriously

  • Switch to dragon skin, for the ballistic vest.

  • to be honest i dont like them. They look to bulkey and a bit heavy to wear for hours at a time

  • Looks like it gets really hot!

  • c'est encore nous qui repousse la technologie et les standards :)

  • are they helmets designed in canada? they look realy cool.

  • I like this idea, and I hope it becomes successful, Canada has a relativly small R&D section, but the adaptability of the helmet is good for different trades needing more or less protection, and full armor looking more like a "Heavy Infantry" piece of equipement, countries that don't have that kind of helmet, and want it can buy it, or Canada can maybe have it's own interchangable infantries from "Light Infantry" to "Heavy infantry" so to speak depending on the situation.

  • Those are some crazy helmets

  • KOOOL! I'll be a ROBOCOP!!

  • what is the name of the body armor system?

  • It seems like a really good idea, but I imagine it's pretty bulky.

I wonder if we'll end up switching to this design?
